Trade?
Its deleted so he isnt going to regret that. I would be asking questions on why he wants an older vehicle. Who knows, he might like that body style

need some thoughts on smarty.
Uh smarty on a 3rd gen is insane. You have over 200hp more than a 2nd gen even with comp. I dont know whats wrong but it should be night and day difference. There are two "programmers" that are king on 3rd gens, smarty and efi, this includes any chip. I had a customer with a bully dog go to a smarty and he had a huge smile on his face on even the lower settings

Heat exchanger delete or not delete that is the question!
I would keep it. A 1000 dollar heat exchanger is cheaper than a 4k trans. I cant believe that its that much

spin on trans filter
Filter should be changed anytime oil is changed and is cheap enough that any time pan is dropped. The drain plug is for easier drains
-
spin on trans filter
Yep those are the ones I use I think the "spin on" thing has been brought up many times. I cant remember why it always gets turned down.
-
spin on trans filter
Drain plugs are easy to install and pans are easy to drop
-
spin on trans filter
Nothing wrong with the stock filter. Propper oil changes, band adjustments, and keep the tans cool are key

Extra Life Oil Filters
Sweet. I had my filter guy price me a donaldson and he was told that donaldson is having big issues with warranties right now. Cant remember what it was exactly but something along with issues with people running extended mileage on filters or something What method are you using to get your samples? I get sample kits cheap so i might sample every filter change and obviously every oil change

Motor Oil's cuss and discuss
Not to side track, but do you guys like your frantz bypass? Im thinking about getting one but heard its hard to find the right rolls now.

Extra Life Oil Filters
From what I read, the lf9028 is like having a by-pass system in one filter, correct? Ive been running the stratapore but might switch to this and see how far I can run dyno oil
-
Oil testing and capturing sample.
Clean the plug and the pan around the plug with a regular paper towel. Dont use any cleaners. Drop the plug then get three different samples of the draining oil into your sample bottle

2012 Cummins 6.7 HO Forum tips
Best tips of all, dont idle, if you have to idle turn on the high idle function and always run exhaust brake even if not pulling. Also if you can delete than do it asap.
