11 psi at idle isn't the worst thing ever, sounds like the vp was just worn out. You are feeling the effect of nearly 0* of timing. Guessing you are seeing white smoke as well? then the vp heats up and the timing piston in the vp unsticks and you suddenly get power back. A better lift pump is a good idle, something diesel rated and that can flow 100+ gph of fuel. If your speedo goes in and out you might need to replace the sensor on the rear diff or you might have a wiring issue between the abs computer and the rear axle. sensor is cheap and easy, but you can also just jump te plug on the axle with a paper clip them ohm out the wires at the ABS computer, that should tell you if the wires are good or not.

You need a vp44 injection pump. p0216 tells us your pumps timing piston is stuck. I would give @dieselautopower a call and see what they can do for you.

The only reason I suggest people use android is cost to replace, an android device can be found for 1/10 that of a IOS device. If you run like Moparman says then that doesn't matter.

Timing Max Value
The VP 44 replies back with a timing provided message. If it cannot meet what was asked of it you get a p0216 code. Timing limit in the VP is mechanical from 0-30* The VP is a slave device, it does not limit fuel or timing based on internally programming. You can command full advance at idle and you can hear the change as it advances. I have also data logged differences between 25* vs 30* at wot. The only program limit we have is 2^12 structure of the message that moves between the ecm and VP.

Dunno really what the reason for it was, the builder would have to answer that question. My guess is it is related to power output as lower pop = more fuel for a given duration. You can try running around on lvl 1 as there is no low limit for valet mode. Set it at %20 does it still smoke? Guessing your setup is going to mechanically limit your smoke control though.

If the issue started after installing the injectors I would be looking at your injectors as the issue. have them tested see what they come back as.

260 bar are going to make it EXTREMELY difficult to control smoke on that size injector. you can try pulling a ton of timing, but I think you are at the limits of what your mechanical setup can do. Going from 350bar to 305 bar with my old 7 x .012's was like going from stock injectors to 7 x .010 injectors in terms of smoke increase. I also noticed significantly worse idle and off idle states with 305 bar vs 330 bar. that is only my testing and we dont have enough data to say for sure.

I wouldn't be buying an ADR to try and fix your egt issues. You have other issues going on and the ADR won't solve them.

not really the ecm prevents us from doing much about it until rpms are up enough to keep the ecm from sending high priority messages. If you are already at %50 as a starting point you are pulling as much fuel as possible. you can pull timing to try and help smoke, but I have not seen great results. you may have reached the limit of the mechanical injectors vs hole size and the ablity to inject fuel at low pressure. how big are your injectors?

Same thing, the ecm see's rpms slightly drop as the quad alters fueling to bring it down. the ecm then add's fuel to make up for it and the fight continues. this is normally limited to sub 1000 rpm area.

30* is the limit in any and all situtations. the eq limit is a limit for that settings but the other timing settings can add or subtract from that.

no lower than %50 as loping becomes a real issue as the ecm and the quad fight for control and hte ecm will go into freakout mode.

the solenoid wire black / orange is not a 5v, it is a open -> ground wire. IF you want to disable the pcms ablity to command lockup then you splice the lockup wire at any point, then cut between the splice and the pcm. I am guessing you will get a CEL.

Issue with splices is the pcm can still command lockup, he doesn't want the PCM to do so.
