  1. Personally I would not risk boosted launches on my truck lol. You can build it to the moon, but boosted launches are hard on the driveline and will find the weak link.
  2. you are tapping the lockup wire and grounding. If you want %100 control I would do a 3 position 2 pole switch. 1 position for stock, where the lockup wire is just routed through the switch, then one position for unlocked where there is no ground possible to lockup, and on3 position for locked where you just ground the lockup. The pcm would be out of the loop for off and manual lockup positions. as for timing vs hurting something. The truck will run like trash long before you do harm.
  3. lol with 625's you could do 30* from idle up and not blow the head off. Feel free to throw timing at it. You can interupt the lockup signal by cutting the wire to the trans, then wiring in your switch between. have you adjusted your tv cable?
  4. I understand that. I believe 180 hp when stacked with a ts mvp, not so much without it. I just don't think there is enough stock timing at 1800-2400 to make huge power increases. Stock timing at wot in that range is 12* compared to the 18-23* that the edge runs or the smarty asks for. I don't believe that you have 280hp over stock by simply adding a tst comp and ts mvp though. See what I mean?
  5. Use some of the tunes in the tune repository. There aren't any tunes for that size injectors, but there are tunes for big injectors that you can work off of.
  6. I would agree if he had more fueling, but RV275 + and ez should run clean regardless.
  7. and I have always wanted to sit down with Mark over at TST, that dude knows alot of stuff that I am curious about.
  8. The comp might do 180 hp I dont know, but I have trouble with that number because there is no timing adjustment going on and no canbus adjustment going on. the PMCE may be that fuel aggressive, but consider that the Quad 4K allows the user to demand 6000 us worth of fueling via wiretap and it is still a 180 hp box with timing and canbus tuning. Not trying to bad mouth any tuner, but wiretap is wiretap. all it does is pull to ground for a set us once the psg stops. check post 1 for updates.
  9. I mislabeled the tst line. The comp is out of stock and I am not sure if they sell them still. The pm3 is what I was looking at I guess. Even then I really doubt the quad or tst comp add 180 hp over stock. If we went off of what the hp from the marketing department says the edge comp would be 120hp, edge cts without hot unlock is 120hp, with hot unlock lvl 7 then 150 hp, quad is 180 and tst comp is 180. That's not not truthful from what I have seen. Point is all wiretap boxes add somewhere in that 120-150 hp over stock. The Dyno they run on is what makes the difference. Dap has quads for 675$ as that is the map price. I am willing to update whatever in the chart, but I don't want to get into the difference between pm3 vs comp etc as it gets too big. I also don't want to go purely off of marketing. Also where do you see the specs on the tst website for the comp, I only see the pm3. As for smart pod, that's not a 2nd gen feature, I did however mark those fields with * and explained what the s03 and udc pro and mm3 offer. Check the comment field to the far right. Input at this point?
  10. Did you clamp your wastegate line?
  11. lolol yea I needed a chart to show something other than emotion to people.
  12. This article was created to shed some light on the facts for tuners on a VP44 Cummins. Here is a quck list of features for various tuners so you can compare. The $K / Redline /TST PMCE are not included as they are a special breed of tuner that people run for a specific reason. Not all tuners are equal and there are a lot of opinions as to "what is best" Use this to figure out what is best for you and your truck. 14. is it low volume color?
  15. well, it's only a tradesman model so I got this for transport
  16. Estimated build date is week of july 9th.
  17. in theory the edge should prevent that code from happening unless it is bad or you have a short between the edge and ecm.
  18. I would send back the ecm personally, if it doesn't work then you did not get what you paid for.
  19. Call Quadzilla.
  20. 252 and 251 have nothing to do with timing piston that is a flat out lie. P0216 is timing piston stuck. p0252 and p0251 are directly related to the fueling solenoid NOT the timing solenoid.
  21. p0252 is saying that the pump cannot actually sense it's own fueling solenoid. Has nothing to do with fuel contamination.
  22. so either got 2 bad pumps of you have a wiretap box on the unit that is bad.
  23. Yea I would see minor amounts of differences on the test bench that are acceptible. That's why they have the key. There are still things like mechanical efficentcy that come into play as well. I am still guessing best mpg happens above 20* of timing. After watching the OEM timing and then watching what the edge does it only makes sense that timing needs to be high for good mpg and to match conditions prior to the quad for you. I would not be surpised by 22*+ of timing.
