  1. big plug on top left of pdc, threads act like they strip out or something when snug
  2. Stock. OEM Injectors and turbo, 47RE, 285 75/R16. running 70 mph 2-3 miles 800 degree F 4-5 LBS boost
  3. I finally got a chance to figure out my no bus dash problem, and turns out the black and white plug into the PDC was loose, cant seem to get it to tight but tight enough to start working again, Anybody got any fixes for that, like some sort of thread sealer or something?
  4. Ya, hopefully he will chime in, but for now I ll just head home. I checked alternator with scan gauge and 13.8 volts going through system so hopefully it will make it home from Cuba N.M
  5. Getting a CCD illuminated on the overhead trip meter plus air bag and abs lights are on
  6. Can't seem to download anything with phone. Been pulling fuses and checking. Really could use a fuse diagram for dash
  7. All i gauges including tach, radio, speedo, oil coolant and battery quit plus a lot of symbols on panel stay lit. truck still runs and can't find any codes dont know if it's safe to proceed or not
  8. I used lukes links on all the rod ends and kept my original track bar, did it about 5 years ago and still rock solid, They are greaseable and rebuildable if the need ever comes. I rebuilt my original track bar for about $100. The only draw back is the link on the track bar rubbed on the front diff cover a little when turning and bouncing on a rough road, so I just ground it down a little with a grinder and the rubbing went away until I installed a 400 lb. ranch hand on the front. Now I have a set of heavy duty snowplow springs waiting to install, and I think that will cure that problem.
  9. That's what I thought, I guess the only way to truly monitor oil pressure is to install a mechanical gauge
  10. So how accurate are the factory oil pressure gauges? just asking because during cold weather months, I get a 5-7 second delay before my gauge even registers, in summer its only a few second delay after start up.
  11. from my experience,(aside from the safety factor) running the lift pump continuously is not the best option, because your vp does not like constant pressure during start up, and you may experience longer cranking times especially when engine is warmed up. I would run a temporary power source just to determine if problem is with the pump or power source, If it is the ecm, and you need a different circuit, Ive heard of people wiring in a toggle switch in cab just to kill the power to lift pump during start up. when I first installed the raptor years ago I used the fuel canister heater plug, it plugged right in to the raptor harness. It was continuous key on power, I have since went back to the oe ecm connection and my long cranking issues went away
  12. yep, the BHAF is definitely on the near future list, never was to impressed with the stock air box. Nothing wrong with keeping fresh oil in the engine, if you can afford it. Its pretty much is what ever satisfies you. I don't think I could go more than 7500 on conventional oil, even though I'm sure there is people that go farther, I think its just more of a personal thing. Even on my work truck ( 2001 Freightliner FLD w/ series 60 Detriot ) The company doubled our oil change intervals to 15K miles do to switching to a synthetic blend, and I do all my own maintenance on the rig and I'm usually bringing it in the shop at about 12,000 miles or so just because I cant stand it any longer. Also a lot of the Big OTR company's run full synthetic in their trucks that do mostly interstate driving and they push them till 30k between oil changes, but with that they replace their trucks every few years too.
  13. I never you guys are making me feel bad, I know I need to update my sig, but cant figure out how to do it.I actually got rid of my KN filter after watching Mikes video. and put the stock paper element back in a year ago. maybe one of these days might upgrade to a BHAF. but for now the stock is just fine. As far as my oil change, I have been with shell rotella 15/40, and mostly Napa or wix filters since day 1. and Ive been the sole driver of my truck since 2003, and I do plan on keeping it around for at least 500k miles or more. I also live in a harsh environment with -25 temps in winter and close to 100 in summer and a lot of steep mountain driving. mostly recreational with 5 th wheel and toys behind it. One reason I never went with synthetic (besides the price) is that I would feel guilty about going 12-15000 miles between oil changes, it just doesn't fit me, I would rather be under my truck every 7500 or so and gives me chance to look thing over and I might see something before it does become a problem. Its just good old school maintenance to me.
  14. Dang.. With only 280K on my clock at the rate I'm going I ll be 98 years old when my odometer rolls over. I think I need more long trips
  15. I think I need to chime in on this great conversation, Ive always lived by this famous quote. * When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." Thomas Jefferson also with that being said I dug up this interesting quote, I hope it don't come to this but a lot of truth to it * The end of America will come when she finally succumbs to the internal cancer that is creeping socialism, Each successive generation is being taught less and less about the basic tenants of America and more and more about "being green", accepting sexual perversions as normal, not being judgemental to the point that anything goes and that what you need will be supplied for you by an all powerful government because that is the only fair way to distribute wealth* I believe if we keep letting socialism take its path we are heading in this direction. We can only defeat this by exercising our rights of the us constitution our founding fathers set forth for us. And by teaching our younger generation the same
  16. mmmm... I love fried chicken. 1.45 a lbs. in those birds isn't bad, the quality is so much better than store bought and at least you know whats in them I cant butcher mine though. They are just egg layers. 3 years and still producing. I was thinking of picking up a batch of butcher chickens for the summer,
  17. and that can be added to the " politically correct" and zero tolerance policy's they are forced abide by these days.
  18. Congrats, welcome to the wonderful world of parenting...The toughest and most rewarding job you will ever have... My first born was 20 years ago, She is in college now, and have a son in Jr. High. What direction he goes who knows Oh yea.. and start that college fund now if you haven't already, it's still not to late ?
  19. Thumbs up to sharing this in the classroom. Alway great education.
  20. thats not a bad deal from custom cables, I replaced all my cables, made them myself using 2/0 cable, I was impressed with the military clamps, makes maintenance easy. I bought everything at the local napa, including lugs, soldier and heavy duty color coded heat shrink. good quality but had over $200.00 invested in parts, not including a days work.
  21. cool. I always thought life is better on the water.......
  22. Highway diesel is #2 diesel, the same fuel all road users use. As long as it'd doesn't say off road or dyed diesel your safe, not that their is anything wrong with it, it's just non taxed. I expect to see a 1 or 2 jump in mpg now that suppliers are not using the winter blend fuel now.
  23. I probably used the same one you did, just ordered it with the kit just incase I didn't have the right size. I put some torque on that tap and it held up even though I stepped up the drill bit a size or two just becouse I didn't want to take chances on a broke tap
