  1. The chrysler fluid for the 4500 is a 75w85. I also used rp synchromax in my 5600 with no ill effects.
  2. There were several posts on CF a couple years ago about performance innovations and everyone that had one of their trans was more than satisfied. Glad its working out for you.
  3. Yes, get poly bushings, they can be had for less than $100. I put junk rubber bushings back in mine and now need to do it again.:banghead:
  4. He said he didnt have to work anymore and he was good with wood. The reason I went to his house is because he makes and sells longbows. I got my wife a nice home made bow and arrows from him.
  5. Anybody ever hear of the hydrogen settup people are running these days? I talked to a guy tonight that has been building these and actually sold his patent for this settup. I dont know alot about it but he uses vinegar and said he hadnt filled the little container under his hood in probably 3 yrs. He had it in a 69 3/4 ton shortbed stepside chevy with 307 and a 3speed. Said it was a military truck and of course i told him he should put a 12v in it. he said he gets 25-26 mpg with that settup and he has done big rigs to vw tdi with great results.
  6. Welcome Lou, had just enough seat time to miss it like crazy for a few months. Be safe over there.
  7. Welcome to the fam Rick:thumbup2:
  8. I have a 5 or 6 yr old fass 150hpfp without filters. its been an excelent pump and holds 17-18 @ idle and 16-17 with steady driving. Its run through the oe filter housing with a big line kit from vulcan. It is a loud pump, if your in the bed or close to the pump while its idleing you can hear it over the cummins rattle. I have been seeing new posts seems like almost every other day about a raptor or airdog going belly up but never really hear anything about fass. If my fass dies I will be going with one of these pumps so dont overlook the simplicity of a mechanical belt drivin pump http://www.cumminsperformanceparts.com/dttasmefupu.html , Jamie still has the old pricing but if you buy it direct from DTT they are charging more now. A few members here have this pump and all seems to be well with them.
  9. Cant help with your idle issue but good Lord, that is a huge display on your windshield!
  10. I thought all the 5&6 speed trucks came with the DHD version and auto trucks came with the DLD version. Today a member on CF said his auto dually had the DHD and he wanted to swap to a 5 speed and wondered if his Tcase would bolt up to the nv4500. Another member said they input shafts are different from 5 speed to automatic trucks even if they both have DHD t cases. Sounds like dodge had a pile of parts and just grabbed one when they needed it. My truck came with a 47re mated to a DLD but the nv4500 I put in was mated to a DHD and the output shaft is alot bigger on the DHD than the DLD.
  11. Good to know the forum members have our backs in times of need.
  12. Good luck buddy!
  13. Pull one and have it pinned to see the exact size.
  14. That main crossmember is a royal pain and I would drop it only as a last result.
  15. There are two crossmembers, should only have to remove the rear one held on b 4 bolts.
  16. That mechanical gauge will NOT fit n a column mount, its a 2&5/8 gauge and the standard gauges are 2&5/16 or something.
  17. My 98 uses the smaller one at the bottom but for $40 you can get a gauge you know works right. Since your 12v has the timing set I would just put in a mechanical gauge and be done. Here is the one I got http://www.ebay.com/itm/MECHANICAL-WATER-TEMPATURE-GAUGE-2-5-8-R5130-/261087043356?_trksid=p4340.m1985&_trkparms=aid%3D444000%26algo%3DSOI.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D13%26meid%3D1949688097565494319%26pid%3D100012%26prg%3D1014%26rk%3D4%26 and this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gauge-Bracket-Mount-1-hole-Black-2-5-8-/261087044320?_trksid=p4340.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222001%26algo%3DSIC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D1949701216244985414%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D1%26
  18. I missed the edge, they do have boost foolers built. What edge do you have? My comp is 7 years old and works great still. - - - Updated - - - Your sig says Tow/haul valve body, who makes it and what makes it tow/haul? My buddy just came from an 04 d-max/allison to an 04 cummins/48re and misses the tow/haul feature his allison had. it actually downshifted each gear when coming to a stop to aid in stopping when it was in tow/haul. His 04 dodge has tow/haul but really just turns off the OD.
  19. What is this other devise you speak of? Do I need a monthly plan? Dumb it down for me. - - - Updated - - - So you just buy minutes for the other device?
  20. If you dont have a boost fooler or a box that does boost fooling you will throw the code. Your boost sounds about right for the mods in your sig and the waste gate is set to open about 23psi.
  21. Im not tech savy but would like an Iphone but I dont want to pay for the monthly plan so maybe an Ipod is the next best thing. I know nothing about them but would like to know if you can run internet and navigation while on the road. A gps would be good if you know the address your looking for but if not it would be nice to look it up while in the truck already on the road. Can this be done with an Ipod or do I need to get an Iphone with the monthly plan?
  22. I plan on it, will make my first fill up this weekend.
  23. Those are impressive mpg's! Thats a good looking truck too.
  24. Im gonna head down there when I get done with work tomorrow but slipped my clutch twice yesterday so wont be on the dyno. You gonna make it?
  25. No, it fits pretty tightly inside the arm rest. It comes with velcro or you could run a couple screws into it but its not needed. - - - Updated - - - I pulled the trans and clutch again today because its tricky to shift when its hot. I forgot my clutch alignment tool at home but other than that everything went smooth. There were a few spots of rust on my input shaft so I cleaned that up real good and put it all back together. It shifts pretty good now and I did it by myself in about 5 1/2 hrs total.
