  1. I would give anything to live somewhere that got snow like that!
  2. I like snow but dont expect to see one flake here.
  3. Im sure we all have to much in our trucks, I know I do! I do like a longbed but after having the auto and 6 speed, the auto would brake the deal for me. Now if your gonna beef it up or do the manual conversion you will be set. It would be hard for me to trade my truck, it has its quirks but i know all of them and how to straighten them out.
  4. I got 3 gallons of CAT oil early last year and it was still CI-4.
  5. Would like to get a little Bearcat for my son when he gets a little older, maybe 5.
  6. Ok Mike, here is mine back when I got it
  7. That is really nice but I would be scared to drive it.
  8. Love Ruger guns, I have its .22 little brother.
  9. He should have a pretty smokey truck when they get done with him.
  10. I hauled almost 1 cube in the back of my friends 99 light duty 3/4 ton gmc and it squated it pretty good, also put a good sized hole in the inner fender well.

    Welcome to the fam Bill!
  12. I never had one on my 03 but have seen several threads over on the CF that have done it. I think you have to get some pvc pipe with a 45 degree bend or so to make it work.
  13. I used to be an idler as that is what my dad always did. We always had gas trucks/cars but he would idle 3-5 minutes no matter the outside temp to let it warm up good. He bought a new honda in 94 and put 365k on it only replacing batteries and 1 starter, some of those miles were mine and my brothers. Then he sold it to my cousin and she traded it for a new kia:doh:. Dad is the kind to turn everything off before he turns the car off like a/c and radio. I was raised that way so I always turn the a/c off too byt not the radio. He is a very peculiar man as I always tell him. Now I just let oil pressure build and take off like old man river and drive like its Sunday until 170 or so. Funny, after dads mid-life crisis he crankes and goes too.
  14. I usually carry everything but what I need. I have been all over in my truck, nearly coast to coast (as far west as AZ and east to FL) and have had pretty good luck except with electical crap but that seems like a never ending battle.
  15. Ok, now I have to see this makeshift outerwear. I usually use my southern engineering to its fullest (like the 5 gallon bucket) and love to see others use theirs too.
  16. http://outerwears.com/proddetail.asp?prod=2086 http://www.vulcanperformance.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=bhaf
  17. Vulcan has that $80 something dollar one for $44, plus you get the outerwear from them and save on shipping.
  18. Might as well check the valves while you have the cover off.
  19. I personally wont run fram but alot of people do. The filter you are looking at is the smaller filter for the ford powerstroke BHAf, the wix 42790 or napa 2790 is alot bigger and yes it is the size of a 5 gallon bucket. You gonna spend some $$$ on it but like Mike said, it will last a long time and it filters better than after market cai's do. I think vulcan probably has the best price on the combo for them unless you know someone in Tyler Tx that can get you one from my brother.
  20. This is the only outerwear I have ever seen, I ordered it from http://outerwears.com/ and got my filter from my brother at a parts store. He got me a good deal at $35 ad I gave almost that much for the outerwear. I guess it works good, I ran it for a few weeks before I got the opterwear and cant tell a difference with or without. I never ran a heatshield but Mike's research leads us to believe better mpg is achived with higher iat temps so you dont want cold air. When I first put it in I used a 5 gallon bucket and cut it down where it would just set down on 2 of the 3 bolts and it worked fine but kinda looked crappy. The filter isnt eating into the foam its just kinda dented it a little. Here is what my first settup looked like
  21. Welcome to the fam Anthony!
  22. Here is my BHAF and outerwears and here is the plumbers foam I put under it, I doubled it up where the filter actually sets and put a little bit on the battery too --- Update to the previous post... I also pulled the 3 bolts that hold the original airbox out so they wouldnt rub any holes in it.
  23. I have always had a puff of black at startup until recently then its been white at 70 degrees or above but when its cold (below 50) its black again.
  24. Nope, just the puff when its first started.
  25. Ok, now thats its finally cooled off outside my truck is puffing black on a cold start now instead of white. I know this is backwards from what most people get but I dont get it. Could my ecm be retarted?
