Failed MAP cause low power?
A small leak will make a small difference. The bigger the leak the bigger the difference. While your air compresor can compress are 150 psi or whatever yours is capable of, it most likely cannot produce the volume of air that the turbo can. My little compressor will get to150 psi but only produces maybe 3 cfm at 90 psi, could be less. The turbo is capable of many times the cfm of my compressor. A quick, and I mean quick google check said the HX35 is capable of 600 cfm. Others would know better than I. I hope can see what I am saying. The boost elbow that came with my Comp has an adjustment screw in it. It lets pressure of of the actuator so you can build more boost than stock. If yours is missing the screw it is just letting the waste stay closed longer. Do you have a boost gauge? Are you still running the EZ? Dont get me wrong if you have boost leaks, fix them. Your truck will be happier. But for now a MAP sensor is what you need. Fix that then take care of the other stuff. Just my worth.

Rayce
You could leave unplugged for a mont and it is still going boot up like it always does at key on. Sounds like you have a problem somewhere else. But I dont know auto trannys at all.

Failed MAP cause low power?
You might be surprised at how much boost you can build even with boost leaks. Take one of the couplings off one day and feel how air the turbo will move at idle. I was surprised. The flow from that will oustrip what I can put in it with my small pancake compressor. The turbo produces a whole lot more volume. Your scanner might read it, but I dont know what have. It does not have to display volts either. It can display psi. You need to see it move when you stick your foot in it. Mine did not move even though I could build about 4 or 5 psi. As mentioned earlier if the ECM does not see any boost it is not going to fuel the engine as it should, hence the weak running truck.

Did you drive the truck while connected to the sensor? If not you need to to see if voltage changes. If stays constant the sensor is most likely dead. It could still be a bad wire, thats where code diagnostics come in. While I did encounter the 237 code during my problem it only showed up occasionally.

Lions and Tigers and Brazilian 53 Blocks
The 53 block is a big red flag to folks that dont know that all of them do not crack. Yours is most likely safe from what I have read. But it would still make me think. What are you asking for it?

Isspro gauge programming
He likes one dollar bills as packing material. I got 10 of them in a t'stat box a long time ago.

Smoke/vapor from vent tube.
Mine runs to the manifold at the cowl but no resevoir that is visible. thats why I asked. I am still finding surprises with the truck so I dont write anything off.

Smoke/vapor from vent tube.
I have to ask, what resevoir? Never seen one on mine. Mine defauts to the defrost very quickly. Never gave it much thought since it seems to have done that for a very long time. Thought it was like that new but 17.5 years is long time to remember back. Also thought it might just be that check valve. Its 17.5 years old too. Does the vacuum pump have a check valve in it to hold vacuum? I don't remember such when I resealed mine.

Proof that the Cummins will pull a house, a small house, but still a house.

Front Brakes
Mine have held pretty well. I have about 70k on them and not seeing any abnormal wear on them. I am a bit surprised after reading about them. I expected more wear.

Not your average vp44 question
Your description in the first 3 sentences of,the 3rd fit my experience almost exactly. No dead pedal. Mine also did not die, so close to the same thing but not quite.
-
Not your average vp44 question
That confuses me since in your first post you mention power loss. No dead pedal invoved for me either, but I did have blue smoke, not black while it was occuring. What mods have you done to the truck?
-
Not your average vp44 question
When my oe VP gave up it was very much as you describe except it did not try to die. Down on power and I could restart the truck while moving and it come back. No hard restarts either. I am a manual also. Mine would blow blue smoke when this would happen. Never tripped the CEL either, but I also never checked it for codes. The scanner loosing touch with the truck, maybe ECM, dont know. @Me78569 would know that better than I would.

Get rid of wind noise permanently
I bought a new weather strip for my drivers door from LMC truck for $50 + shipping. I have yet to install it though. Mine is torn at the sill. I hope it works as good as the tubing did for you.

So many tow mirrors to choose from.
Actually backing plate would be a better description. It goes on the inside of the door under the door panel. The mirrors need the extra support. Most of the tow mirrors come with them just the description tone sure. You can pull the screw out of the little upper triangular part of the door panel and peak in there and see if the plug for the mirrors is there.

Got mine from 1aauto also. You will need the mounting brackets. If powered you will need the door switch to operate them. The heatepd part needs the hvac control with on/off switch. Both are easy to find. If your is an SLT the wiring should be there, just plug and play. Beware, the ones you link are for a 3rd gen

I think you just summed up our immigration policy.

Egt’s
Thats why I asked him if both instances were in a cruise state. Just was not clear to me if it was.
-
Egt’s
While I do see the advantage of the 4:10's with the bigger tires. The problem here seems to have really raised its head after the OP messed with his waste gate, though he said waste water typo I suppose, to increase his boost. @Tymatthew are the egts you are seeing increased under the same circumstances as in just cruising. My truck is capable of 33 psi but only with my foot in it hard, empty that is. My egt's will hit 1200+ pretty quick. It does sound as if something you messed with is the culprit.

Made it to 300k
Congrats. I remeber my passage of 300k. About the same as you on repairs except my ECM croaked too. Good luck to 400k.

Tire pressure
I would have agree with both of the above.

Oh, I did. Its the other 150 million folks that just found out they have live off my check too that didn't.

Dead pedal
I would start by getting the trouble codes read with a scanner. If you dont have most auto parts stores will do it for you. Then post up what you found.

That would be pretty darn good. Then search for me would be 8th. Cant seem to get it out of my system
