  1. Hard to tell whats going on in the video. I do see the WTS light flashing on and off thru it all. How are you checking for codes? How are you monitoring the fuel pressure?
  2. Got mine done but still some back log to clear. Just started my new job last Monday. Got the permit on Wednesday, beautiful weather Thursday and then Friday a hell of a wave of rain, heavy winds and some tornados came up from the gulf and drowned every thing in its path. Rain thru Saturday at the job and home. Hope this isn't an omen of a wet summer. Building on Georgia red clay. It hates water. Likes to grab it and not let it go.
  3. Thats quite the project. I am sure you will like the results Quad or not.
  4. How are they working out? Going the same way one of these days.
  5. He changed to 285's from the 315's so he is getting smaller. You can only make boost up to where your waste gate opens. You could put 250 hp injectors on there but if the waste gate opens at 30 psi thats where it is going be.
  6. That is some serious light. You have much more patience than I. Great job.
  7. How do they look as a pair? Mine did not fit exact either. But I would have to agree that the one looks fine.
  8. Do you mean the suspected lights on top of the cab? I would be suspicious of any wiring mods on the lighting circuits and try and return them to stock and see if that helps.
  9. A free set of injectors might facilitate the acquisition of a Quad. Maybe I shoild just buy the tickets, makes economical sense. But the trip would be priceless.
  10. Does this mean I won for being the first to find the problem?
  11. That is a good location. The pump is the bigger question. They can leave you stranded and possibly trash the VP.
  12. Multi function switch maybe?? I dont know any way test it other than replacement. Mine wacked out on me but with the turn signals. Any sign of the PO cutting the light wiring harnesses?
  13. Thats a beast DF.
  14. @Me78569. Tried to buy tickets for the raffle and kept ending up at the runaway truck vid in error land. Help.
  15. Blue top is a vendor here and rebuilds steering boxes. He builds a very good box from all I have read. If you look on top of the steering box you will see the adjustment screw that @Dieselfuture speaks of. It will adjust play out of the sreering. I have adjusted mine several times thru its life. But at 465k on the box it finally has reached its limits and cannot be adjusted any more. If yours has ot been adjusted before you could go half a turn and see what that does. Only takes a few minutes to do. Open the hood and look down at the box and you should see it, if it is not to dirty. If you tighten it to much you will know. The steering will not return on its own if it is too tight. And by tighten, you are not trying to tighten the adjuster against any thing. If you do that you have gone to far. Try the 1/2 turn and see how it acts first. Might need a little more. All these front end parts work together to give you good steering. If yours is all oe chances are it is all nearing the end of its life. I rebuilt the whole front end when I did mine. Probably replaced some things that were not quite worn out. But I just wanted to start fresh with everything.
  16. I still have the relay harness I got with mine at the house. It did have a seperate power source but I cant remeber where other than maybe battery connection to the PDC. Its been a long since I took that off. The funny thing with my VP failure at 75k is they only replaced the VP and not the lift pump. It took another 75k for it to fail. Then I got the intank pump on my dime. But the VP on the truck lasted another 70k before I replaced it. It sid not fail but I had had some issues with it due to low fuel pressure and just swapped because I had the money then. 245k miles later it is stil going strong.
  17. Thats an ugly spark plug. That is also about as far as my knowledge goes for any help.
  18. Here you go. Matter of fact if you look at the bottom of the picture just left of center and hanging down below the orange wire is the oil pressure connector. Might not be obvious but there is only one wire to it.
  19. The lift pump is fed directly by the ECM and does not go thru the PDC. In a stock configuration. The fuel pump relay in the PDC is for the VP.
  20. That is correct by the wiring diagram. That is not the case in the wiring harness at least for the 02's. They only have an oil pressure switch that requires one wire only. It only tells the ECM when the engine has pressure and the ECM takes over the OP gauge based on rpm and ECT readings, same as the 3rd gens from what I have read. It is that way on my early 02 and the spare 02 harness that I have.
  21. Just add a little to the mix, while messing with my MAP sensor I noticed that it has its own 5v signal from seperate pin in the ECM. The oil pressure shares that wire pre 2002. The other sensors are fed the 5v off of a different pin in the ECM. Do both of these wires share the 5v source in the ECM?
  22. All depends on what you want to do with power.
  23. Started my new job here in Marietta ga this week. Staying at my niece's house 28 miles from the job. All surface streets. Took me an hour and 15 minutes to get there this am. Going to try the interstates in the morning. But they can be dreadful around here at rush hour. It is the primary reason I left here back 91. The people clock had just crossed 1 million in population when I left, now its more like 3.75 million. If I can get 16 mpg I will be doing good.
  24. I just take a straight pin and stick it into the connector parallel to with the wire. Just let the point slip thru between wire insulation and the connector seal. It does not poke hole into anything as long as you are careful inserting the pin,
