  1. Gorilla tape, the wide roll.
  2. First I would ditch the power service and start using 2 cycle oil, TCW3. Wal Mart super tech is readily available and reasonably priced. Here is some info. I would also agree with the above. If it is not giving you any trouble or codes i dont think I would replace it. Just getting one for spare might be troublesome since a core deposit is required, usually with a time limit on the return or the vendor will keep your core deposit. @Mopar1973Man's last pump had 243k or so miles on it when it went, mine has 220k on it and still running. Both were remans and not the oe and both have seen 2 cycle their entire lives. My oe and Mike's had right 75k on them when they died. The power service does the opposite o 2 cycle.
  3. I can identify with that. If I have an idea its coming I will park nose down hill. I have starting in reverse once or twice but got to have some speed for that. No speed and the clutch might as well be a brake pedal. If you had done that look at all the cultural differences we would have missed out on.
  4. Somethings goofy. You would not read 14.2 at the battery while running if the alt is only putting out 10.5v. You might ought to try that again and make sure your lead is making good contact. Before you do that check the battery before you start it and I will bet your around 12.5v not running. Then start and check both again. And for the sake of getting this right, someone confirm what I am thinking since I am a card carrying member of the electrically challenged club.
  5. If your battery voltage is showing 14.2 v while the engine is running I would have a hard ime believing the alternator is not putting out 14.2v. How are you reading the alt voltage?
  6. No offense taken at all. I understand the confusion. Maybe I have been living in the chicken coop to long. I have started all my manuals with the clutch over the years, but i will say this, the Cummins starts with a bit more shock to the drive line than a gassers I have had.
  7. I have referred to both using cables and popping the clutch as "jump starting" over the years. Since @Dieselfuture was talking about popping, rolling, and pushing I figured all would get the idea. I agree, you get the cables out and "jump" somebody off. If I am by myself and roll it to "jump" it off with the clutch, that can be confusing. I think its what you grow up with.
  8. I have jump started mine many times over the years with no ill effects. Used 3rd or 4th and never gave it a thought.
  9. Good to hear.
  10. I have taken mine off both times I have done them.
  11. Small update. Can't seem to catch a break on doing the ground wires. Rain this Sunday and an extremely ill SIL, the weekend blew by. I did wire in a remote starter switch Thursday at work since the starter acted up again. The relay is hot on pin 30 but jumping it to 87 wont start it. 12v straight to the solenoid will. The wire from the relay must be loose or something. Starter did not work Thursday or Friday but but started working again Saturday. For some reason my ABS and brake light went out Saturday after being on for the past 3 or 4 months. Brake light returned to normal operation, blinking when the PB is on.
  12. I did have a 7 pin added in the bed when new and unless they added a 4 pin at the stock 7 pin location location it came on it. I sure did not add it myself. I do use both of them, one for the 5th wheel and the other for smaller things from the rental yard.
  13. Well we saved 2 of them. You can see a couple of them flying away. Pretty catastrophic.
  14. The pistons were still connected, some anyway. It was still spinning when the top of the block came off. But I would say its junk too.
  15. Quite the expensive dyno run. Looks like the crank survived.
  16. My 02 came stock with both. Part of the camper package I am thinking.
  17. Most parts houses have the plastic line. Take your old piece to one, they might have what you need.
  18. You must have lucky nuts.
  19. Just click the word "quote" and it wil put the entire post on the reply screen.
  20. Those were the days, I remember them well.
  21. Welcome. Bought mine back in 01 and never thought I would still be driving it 16.5 years and 438k miles later. You will find what you need here.
  22. Thats pretty cheap. I would check him real good before I sent any money. Does he not want a core back? A core is pretty normal as far have seen anyway.
  23. There are several sources for rebuilt NV5600 and people will work on them. The results are not always good. There are also a lot of cheap parts on the market that won't last. They only made these tranny for 6 or 7 years and when Dodge stopped using them New Venture shut the the production line down including spare parts. They are pricey to work on and do require special tools and a heavy duty press for some of the work.
  24. I knew you didn't expect that. I have picture somewhere of the finished basket. I used after reinstalling the basket and the fuel tank to confirm that I DID forget to put a spring clamp in place before install. So i had to pull the tank again to put the clamp into the proper place. Mine used the old pick up for the AD return line and the engine return went in the oe location.
