  1. Pretty much. Blue chip diesel has a great trouble shooting guide on pump failures. It is worth the read to be sure.
  2. Lost my MAP sensor when my pump failed back last Thanksgiving.
  3. The heater treater part is good insurance. That little stepper motor is a pain to get to if the factory connector fails.
  4. I have also used SMP with good success on my truck. Actually the cruise switches were SMP from the factory.
  5. I have no experience with them. But Larry B's has a good reputation.
  6. Just take the wire off the pdc, shorten it and install on the passenger battery with your choice of a fuse or circuit breaker. The pdc has power from the drivers battery and you can use the old lug for a power source for any mods you might add.
  7. You definitely need to re read the the ground mod by WT. I have to assume thats what you mean by "drivers side ground relocate". Getting the charge wire to the passenger battery is an important step.
  8. Sounds like you need to talk with T'bred about your pump.
  9. I guess to compare apples to apples we would have compare the fuel baskets. Mine is not oe but the in tank pump basket. Mine is about 2.5" deep and maybe 3.5" in diameter. The pics I have seen of the oe basket shows it to be many more inches deep but similar diameter. I am figuring that there is a fair amount of fuel mixing going on from the tank and the pickup is getting alot more than just returned fuel until the tank gets low.
  10. Thr map/boost codes are in the 230's. The 1600's have some pump and electronics codes. Knowing what they are would help.
  11. I have never had a lick a trouble out of mine either. No temp sensor in mine but I always wondered how warm the return fuel from the pump is. The return fuel from the engine has been falling back to the basket since it was new Not knocking anyone set up because they all seem to work fine.
  12. I have some improvement now. I know there had to be some air from the install so we will see what another week and a half wlll do.
  13. On my second week of the $15 MAP sensor and all is still well.
  14. I installed my AD 09 or 10. Both my engine return and pump return go to the fuel basket/bowl and I have never had an issue with it. Still that way today.

Have you looked at how inexpensive a yearly silver script costs? The money I have saved over the years here is way more than what I have returned to the site. Not tying to beat you up at all. Every penny Mike gets keeps this resource alive.
  16. I only reason I brought this up because without codes or some common symptom It is hard to diagnose what the problem is. I hate see folks spend money on things that might not be the issue. Some of these parts are quite spendy.
  17. No smoke or haze out this way at all. We are driving to the coast tomorrow for our yearly sibling reunion that we have every year. Still wish I could send ya'll just some or the rain we are seeing out this way. Ya'll be sage out there. @JAG1, how did this end up in the Lighter Side? Been wondering about that one.
  18. If it was not blowing fuses at the PDC then relocating to the passenger should not be the issue. The circuit breaker would be suspect to me.
  19. I would be more afraid you are getting a stock rebuild that might just outlast the warranty and then its your problem. I do not know anything about the trans shop you speak of but before I dropped 2k on rebuild I would want to know a lot about what this shop is going to do. A $3k tranny from @Dynamic would be bullet proof for what you do. But I dont want to speak for him in anyway. I tagged him to get his opinion. I am no auto tranny expert but we have see a lot folks here go to the go to in their area just to end up with an average rebuild.
  20. FWIW when my oe VP went out I could most times shut it down, restart and it would run fine for while and then wig out again. I could do this while coasting down the road. I am in no way saying your VP is dead.. It sounds like yours maybe too far taken apart for that to be done now. The trouble codes are an important part of finding your issues. The don't necessarily point to the exact issue but the hints they give would be of great benefit.
  21. The map and boost sensor are the same thing. Exactly what codes is it throwing?

    Welcome Eric.
  23. Seeing the same error every where now.
  24. Something is a miss. I am not seeing any posts hrre. Seeing some text about an error and the theme might of date. Not sure whats wrong. @Mopar1973Man saw your post about rear end oil just fine.
  25. Good to see the site up snd running this am. Thus shut down appeared a bit different than others. Got to worrying about you folks out west. With all the fires going on thought some of you might had to bug out. Hope all of you are well. Seems my spelling has not improved either.
