  1. I have done both and replaced the cracked dash and like Mopartechnician says, they are not difficult just time consuming. Mike has a good article here on the heater core and evaporator. I used that to do mine. The tappet cover is just taking alot of parts off to get to a simple part.
  2. I tried to speak to a man and woman while they were picketing CFA a while back. From what I could get from them it was about them and no one else. Accept us and our lifestyle or there is something wrong with YOU. I live and let live myself. They choose there lifestyle not me. I can tolerate it, but I dont have to accept nor agree with it. That makes me a homophobic bigot in there eyes. Now who is intolerant.
  3. This all makes me feel better. After all I only have 304k on mine. OP, if your leak is behind the ECM it is most likely the tappet cover.
  4. Auto or manual or both? I definitely did not know about that one and dont remember seeing anything like that when I changed my 6 speed. Come to think of it,since I did not know it was there i would not have looked for it anyway.
  5. I had issues very similar to your after loosing my lift pump back in 2008. Dodge graced me with an in tank pump and a few months later I started having dead pedal issues and a little later some bucking issues. Turned out that the in tank pump was only putting out about 8 PSI at idle and less than 1 PSI at WOT. I installed a booster with the in tank pump and got the pressure up. This solved the dead pedal and the bucking issues. Ran that set up for 3 years. I finally replaced the VP and the two lift pumps about 3.5 years ago. The VP seemed to be running good but the earlier lift pump failure and exposure to the low pressures of the in tank pump stayed on my mind the whole time. I just decided to replace all of it on my time and not when the VP or lift pump decided for me. While your pressure aren't as low as what I experienced, they are lower than what I like. Currently I am running 19 and 15.5. I like the 15.5 PSI at WOT especially when towing(5th wheel at 15k) to allow for max cooling of the VP.
  6. Dont forget the tappet cover. It can leak at the rear and run down on the starter. Mine was leaking and the way the wind whips the oil around I thought I had more than one leak. Mine starting leaking at the rear and it when down over the bell housing and drip off the tranny as well as near the starter.
  7. Got my first job at Western Auto when I was 14. Made a whopping $1.10 and hour, minimum wage at that time. Used to help the man in charge with changing tires. Was not allowed to run the tire changer or the impact, but was rather good with the 4 way lug wrench.
  8. Is that 394,000 km or miles. I replaced my oe with near 235,000 miles on it and was surprised it still had a little life left in it. I resurfaced my flywheel but would probably have replaced it had I had the cash.
  9. I used the same style as shown on the the link on mine.
  10. They can hire younger, but what they are allowed to do is limited. Chick hire alot of juniors as have others I have worked for over the years.
  11. Welcome to the family. Glad to have here.
  12. It s been 3.80 to 3.90 a gallon her in NC for quite a while. While gas was dropping diesel hardly moved. The price of crude oil is on the rise again. It has gone up about 10% in the past few weeks. So grab your wallets.
  13. DAP has some great deals on Combo packages, VP and different fuel pumps. Less than a $1000.
  14. Times 2 on the above. I have my share of opportunities.
  15. I am assuming you have the 24v 98 and not the 12v 98.
  16. Proctology!
  17. He was sitting on air bags all the way around and when he got in and fired it off it rose 6". His tow setting was higher but I did not get to see it. when I first saw it I am not sure how well my hand would have fit between the body and the ground. I would think with the air bags that it rides better than it looks like it would. I have thought about air bags on mine, but not to that extent.
  18. Any fuel line, return or supply can cause it. Mine did it and it was the return line. clogged fuel tank vents can also cause it like mopartenchnician mentions. A little more info on your rig also helps. You can fill out a signature in your profile and it will show up every time.
  19. It does sound like a leak somewhere. Next time it happens try bumping the starter(no engine start) and let the lift pump cycle once or twice. It should run for about 25 seconds a cycle and see if that helps. Check your fuel connections front to back and see if you see any moisture on them. I does not take much of a leak to let air in and very little fuel out.
  20. Had my truck parked in the adjoining parking lot today. Walked out to it and this is what was sitting beside me. The owner came out while I was standing there and got to speak with him briefly. He is in construction and hauls some equipment with it, bobcat, back how and such. Pretty obvious not off highway much I think. He did have a goose neck ball in the bed and it looked somewhat used. The last pick is in driving trim, and adjusts differently for hauling. Any way he had to leave, just thought some might like this. Not my cup of tea, but interesting.
  21. I have about 50k on whatever Advance sold me with no issues. If it were harder to install I might have opted for the Cummins. Takes longer to go get one than it does to install one.
  22. I travel for living myself and am in a new town about every 4 months. I am construction super and build mostly Chick-fil-A's. Thats why I asked. The haynes manuals are ok but lack a lot of info. I have one for my 02, but also have the FSM. I did go back over to pdftown and I dont see the 01 FSM any more. It is here however. Just go to the top of the page and look in the downloads section. It is for the 01 but will work for your 02. The 95 I am not sure. Try this site. It appears to be free but I din not try and down load it.http://servicemanualpdf.net/download-dodge-ram-truck-1500-3500-1994-2002-service-manual-pdf.html I just did a quick Google search for 1995 dodge factory service manual and came up with this.
  23. I usually just Google the trip and then get out a road map and double check them. They will send on a round about trip some times too. Cant beat a good road map. I have to admit a GPS is good to have when buried up in big city.
  24. I set mine at >008 and .016, but did not notice it being any quieter. Might have been, but just did not pay any attention to the noise level.
