  1. I dont think the mechanical is any cheaper when you add extra filtration that the electric pumps come with though I have not priced compared them in a while. To the OP, i would try to do the system tank to pump at one time just to get it done. 3/8" line would work unless plan for a lot of extra power. 2 other things that will be a good help is a FP gauge and getting the pump to run off of a relay to get the load off of the ECM.
  2. It went up about $1 a gallon out my way but it is only $14 a gallon.
  3. Valid point on yhe boost leak, could be either one. I lost a 4" piece of intake plenum gasket that did the same thing. But we have had some folks with boost fooler issues lately also
  4. Sounds like maybe the boost fooler in the quad may not be working. 20 to 22 psi is about where the ECM would start defuelung the engine to protect it from over boosting. Have you checked for trouble codes? I would expect to see an over boost boost code.
  5. In the case of Loves they have seperate bio tanks and mix the 2 on site. The one l built several back ws set up that way. As for others I dont know. They could run out I guess. Many of the stickers say contains up a certain percentage, many say may contain a certain percentage. So its a bit of a crap shoot. But since the government still pays stations a subsidy for every gallon they sell, $.50 per gallon when I built the Loves, they have a very good incentive to use it. But when I am in doubt I just put some 2 stroke in. Always keep some in the truck.
  6. I can say this for this southern boy that any time I have had to go that far north or west for that matter that the southern fuel is pretty much gone by the time I get there. I think the coldest my truck has ever seen is near 0.
  7. The part numbers are different between the 2.
  8. The bio will provide all the lubrication you need. It is as good or better than the 2 stroke. I do not run the 2 stroke in my 2nd gen if I am buying the bio blend.
  9. I guess by ppump you mean the lift pump? How is your fuel pressure and what type of lift pump do you have?
  10. Sounds about like the weather we are having in the southeast us. More rain than dry days. Cant get anything done for it.
  11. Sincw you move the charge wire to the passanger battery, you have bypassed it anyway. But to answer your question, yes.
  12. Flagship one has "new" ECM's? If so what do they cost?
  13. If it was wired wrong from FASS it would have shown the day you put in. I would open the wring and see if something is chafed or coming apart maybe. Maybe the socket is failing and arching causing the issue. I would think that would be visible when pull the relay. Just my best guess.
  14. As a member of the electrically challanged club, dont let opening the wiring loom bother you. There is not a lot of wires in that loom. The mod is pretty straight forward if you can look around all of the jargon explaining why you should do it. Dont get me wrong it is good info. After you have read it, just look at the physical part of the work and it is not difficult.
  15. We will have to re erect it. This is a good idea. I like it. Might have to hunt for that $2.39 fuel. If the wife is cooking it will be a giant fricking turkey leg. She loves em and knows had to wield one when the garage builders get out of line. That will put a knob on your noggin.
  16. We have sales tax but thats included in the pump price. How much is it up your way?
  17. @RyloBrez I did have some odd surging out of mine 2 or 3 days before the VP failed, but minewas mechanical failure plus I had a 216 code with it. I have been thru some bouts of surging in the past that stumped me. But as l started going thru the electrical system like @Dieselfuture mentions I was able to get the surging gone and have been free of it since. None of it ever turned out to be the TPS. What makes you think its the VP?
  18. They will plug and play. The added protection is just cheap insurance so you dont fry anything. I have done the ground mod and with my existing alternator I had .035 ac volts and after the mod, same alternator, I had .010.
  19. Must down to $2.29 in Cali by now. I dont take much to turn it in the other direction, thats for sure. I might of spoken to quickly. Apparently there was a fire last night at an ExxonMobile refinery in Baton Rouge La. That could be good for 25 cent rise in price.
  20. No but if you zoom in on the sign you will see diesel for $2.49 a gallon.
  21. Pulled off the interstae for fuel last Friday. I love SC.
  22. Mine are the EV1's also. But since I had 4 I went a different route. They work well for me. Still have the FP gauge in the pillar mount. They are much easier to see than in the picture.
