  1. You want toe in on your everyday vehicles you drive on the road as it gives more stability for driving strait. Toe out will make it more responsive to turning but it will also make it so you have to work more to stay going strait.
  2. I'm not sure on the exact measurement for toe on these trucks but you want to have some toe in, on semi trucks I set the toe in 1/8"
  3. I have almost those same headlights Tom (minus the 4 led's) They are better than the originals but they aren't aim-able so I had to shim mine to get them close to the right height, they are aimed about an inch lower than the light @ 10-15ft.
  4. That 92 GPH for 650cc @3000 RPM has me a little confused, I read some information from a guy that really knows his stuff about the 12v's (Seth Haley) and he said for a P7100 set at 500cc to have a lift pump that would support 143 GPH @ 4000 RPM. Now going of the calculations you have for 500cc @ 4000RPM you would only need 95 GPH. Just something I noticed and was wondering about. Edit: Was just thinking after I posted this and I think I know why the calculations are different. Running 500cc @ 4000 RPM and feeding the injection pump 95 GPH you would be at 0psi because it would be using all the fuel the lift pump could feed it. Right? So you would need a pump rated for Higher flow at the pressure you want to run. I'm just kind of thinking out loud now. Plus I like getting into the technical details/calculations for this stuff.
  5. If I remember correct I read somewhere a while back that a stock 180 pump only flows around 200cc weather that is a correct number or not I don't know as there was no flow bench numbers presented to back it up.
  6. Woops you are right, I was looking at the wrong line (amps)
  7. That pump is interesting but it only flows 28GPH at its "low" pressure setting of 45psi it seems.
  8. I just looked up the headlight switches on rockauto and all 4 are the same switch function wise. The difference is this, two of switches are made by Airtex/Wells and the other two are made by Standard motor products. Each company has a "value" version and a standard OEM version.
  9. We had a "mysterious" explosion heard here where I live about 2 years ago, found out after a few months that it was some neighbors about a mile and a half away having some fun with some tannerite and a freezer.
  10. For the two wire its as Tom said, one wire to the marker light power and the other to the turn signal power.
  11. Thanks for all the information guys!
  12. I've been looking online at 3rd gen trucks for a friend and I've noticed that some trucks have a floor shifter for the transfer case and other don't have one, but the ads say that they are 4x4. So I was just wondering what thats all about? Did they have a electronic shift option or something? all the 4x4 ones I've been in personaly have the regular floor shift for the transfer case.
  13. Since you are in ohio there is a guy in Findlay that builds upgraded stock appearing turbos and I've heard good things about them, prices are pretty good too. I'm planning on getting in contact with him this spring/summer to see about getting a 63/65 or 68 hx35 from him, the business is called Tater built turbo chargers. Some of the compressor wheels he will put in the stock housings I don't think are really worth it since the housing would seem to limit the turbo at that point(66mm and 67mm compressors in stock housing) but for a 63mm or smaller compressor I think it may be the way to go.
  14. I had a problem with my CSS a while back and all I lost was my tach and charging.
  15. #2 I believe is the outside air temp sensor for the overhead console.
  16. The ASD controls the charging system, as I've pulled the relay and that's the only thing that seemed to change, it also seems to have some connection with auto trans control as well.
  17. I'm down in Holmes county so its very much a agricultural county, I looked at the price in town today and Diesel is $3.39 but at the station just 2 miles from me its only $3.19.
  18. I filled my truck up last night for $3.19 a gallon at my usual place, lately with diesel they've been 20cents cheaper than all the other stations around.
  19. If they pressure the fuel tank up with shop air to push the fuel up to the pump while they are spinning it it should prime quick.
  20. For a hybrid what you do is take a hx40 compressor cover and wheel and have the hx35 cartridge machined to accept the bigger hx40 wheel. there are 2 different mounting styles for the compressor cover though, one is a V-band clamp and the other is called a slip on that uses a big snap ring, so you would have to make sure the cover mounting styles are the same as well.
  21. It does sound like the sychros are getting weak 3rd gear sychro is typically first to go. but also with a DD clutch there is about double the mass on the input shaft so the synchros work harder to slow the shafts down and get them to match speeds so its typical for a DD clutch to make shifting slower even with good synchros.
  22. Most all turbos are zero balanced which means each individual part is balanced by itself, so you don't have to worry about getting it out of balance when rebuilding one. I know all holset turbos are balanced this way.
  23. bottom bolt in the PTO cover is the drain, the fill is the plug on the side of the case although when I fill my trans I take the shifter out and fill through the top since its a whole lot easier that way. There are only a couple lubes out there for the NV4500 5speed that our trucks have, when I changed the fluid in my trans I used the amsoil MTG that is made specifically for the NV4500.
