  1. Why would the S&B be passing dust? They do make dry filters too...
  2. That's a good amount of fuel... About 700 hp worth. But, that turbo is going to hold you to around 590. But you're going to be stuck with a dual disk. I have a South Bend dual disk for about three years now. I like it, and it holds everything I throw at it. I don't have experience with Valair, but I've heard they feel softer and are quieter than the South Bend. Which brings up the noise factor. My South Bend is LOUD when the clutch is disengaged. People know I'm arriving based on the clutch noise, not the engine. But it doesn't bother me too much. Really, either one should do just fine in your application.
  3. My AutoMeter gauge reported 72 psi this morning Primary gauge reported 30... ECM only saw 18.
  4. This is normal. ECM will only report up to 16 psi. The Adrenaline will use the ECM for pressure readings up to 16 psi, and then switches to the MAP sensor for anything above. Fun fact. Double check with a mechanical gauge when you get one and you'l probably see around 32-33 psi.
  5. Thank you, but I have a spare shell laying around. If you happened to have that hood though.... then I'd consider making a trip!
  6. Hail, cracked and peeling grille, worn out bumper plastic. So so it’s gonna get old school sport paint. Color matched regular grille and bumper.
  7. Help me find one of these then... Cause front end is next.
  8. Finally, after owning this for 5 years, I have a mostly normal bumper, with just a small dent. Oh, and heat. Old heater core was leaking into the box. It's the little things
  9. non CAD axle is just a straight tube.
  10. Minnesota seems to be the sweet spot for compounds. 900 ft above sea level netted me 82 psi in Buxton, ND, and 80 PSI on my home road in Independence. It blew my mind. In Denver I'm lucky to see 70... My pickup weighs a lot more than yours did but still scoots pretty well. I've wanted to experience a stupid fast shorty for a while now.
  11. You can if you like to party ?
  12. I was most of those too..... long term deal Mine needed a huff of ether the other day after sitting for a month. good times.
  13. My 7.3 currently has 309k on it.... but I'm bored with it. I've looked at the cost of getting it to even just 500 hp and it's insane. But, it won't break. I've tried. An ex girlfriend had two 6.0 trucks. I became her mechanic. A set of head studs took me 24 hours of hood up time to complete, and deleting it took 13. Granted, I got pulled away quite a bit and refused to read all of the instructions, but still, both jobs were a pain. Not my favorite thing to work on, but I liked the bodies and interiors. Especially her King Ranch. Almost bought a blown up Lariat to swap a 6.7 common rail into it. The Cummins is just stupid cheap to modify, and seems to be holding quite steady at my power level.
  14. Both Crazy Carl and DPS have been mentioned for piping. For turbo selection, that's all on the end goal. Is it going to be just a race truck? or are you wanting to tow with it? Me personally, I sized my turbos and injectors for maximum torque by using tighter exhaust housings. my 75/96/1.15 will start making noise at 1400 rpm, and be fully spooled by 2000. It's harder on the driveline than most setups, but when I put it together I had smaller injectors. Still tows well, but is capable of ~650 hp at 6500 ft of elevation. Knowing the specifications of your HX40 will help in your determination of what primary, or if it will be a good secondary. It's possible it just won't work well.
  15. Most gated HX40's out there are T3. The non gated ones are usually the T4 variety, but those are very loose guidelines because Holset has so many submodels out. I'm also 95% certain the Super Hx40 is the largest size offered at a 6 blade 60mm compressor wheel, and a 9mm shaft to alleviate the breakage issue of the 7 mm HX35 shaft. The HX40 is old technology anymore. Even a S300G (same 60 mm compressor) way outperforms an HX40. In a mild compound setup, an HX40 should do just fine, but for a 600 horse goal, a 62/68 secondary is a wiser choice. For piping kits, mine came from Crazy Carl, and is all metal construction, as opposed to the silicon found in DPS kits, but costs significantly more. Slicone shouldn't give you any issues, as you'll only be running a primary at 25-30 psi.
  16. DAP sells the OEM return lines for half of what Cummins wants.
  17. Found a deal on a 5” exhaust and a not dented rear bumper. Waiting for these to go on! also fighting a hard start issue. Thinking crossover tube o-rings. We will see.
  18. Lab’s name is Fish, and the Shepherd’s name is Bee. I didn’t name the Shepherd, she came that way.
  19. Kind of impressive that you took a standard rotation turbo and made it look like it’s reverse rotation
  20. My pickup has a PSC box. Came with it when I bought it. I have never been impressed with its operation. Adjust screw is all the way in and it's still sloppy.
  21. Compound install on my truck took about a day, but I was also painting the pipe and getting pulled away to do other things. It's a pretty simple installation. Leave everything loose until it's all together is my advice.
  22. Yes, you have the 47RE. The only other option was a 47RH and that was discontinued in 1995.
  23. Pump is upside down. Can see the brass housing for the timing piston on the wrong side. Why they took the picture like that, I have no idea.
