Cleaning the snow off the truck...
Was 66F yesterday, we got 3" of snow so far today :lmao:Make that 6"

Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification
Now I see how it is. I take it, the mist of oil blows forward when idling and coats the radiator and then you get all that dust buildup?

Did you even read my question? I have never seen a pic of where the stock tube is on a 24v, only your modded tube pics..

What are you guys getting for oil pressure?
Minimum Oil Pressure @ Idle: 10 psiMinimum Oil Pressure @ Rated: 30 psiRegulated Oil Pressure: 65 psiWell above the minimum, my truck runs the same numbers as yours also. It's higher when you start it since the oil is cold and takes more pressure to push it everywhere.

Where is the tube at stock on those 24v's? I was wondering why mine didn't have that issue, then I recalled mine goes right where Mike's fix goes.

Industrial 5.9 version questions
I can't seem to find anything but I think those cats are probably sleeved. Not that it makes much difference, but easier to rebuild. The cummins will do fine. All the mods should be the same. Might be some stuff that's different like having an air compressor on vacuum pump, but it should all mod the same. I don't know much about the cat's though.

overdrive problem
Old wiring sucks! But even worse is wiring that is not factory because of previous owners. At least you don't have that many wires I don't think it would be all that hard on my truck, and I can't access them as easily as you can. Just take your time, measure twice cut once..
-
overdrive problem
Anything is possible haha. 5 gears is plenty for a cummins, in fact 1st is unneeded unless you are hauling something. If you haul a lot, then you might enjoy the extra gear of a 6spd, there is a big gap between 3rd and 4th that the 6spd fills. A 12 spd is downright unnecessary

overdrive problem
Well there you go! I have 5spd, Taz (who moparman referred to) also has 5spd. Moparman has 5spd too

overdrive problem
Ok here is the way to test your CPS.Black/blue tracer is the sensor ground wire. It should OHM close to zero to the battery ground.Tan/yellow tracer is the 8 volt power feed to the sensor. The voltage regulators on the PCM's are kind of loose. This voltage can vary around some. Gray/black tracer is the signal wire. If the sensor is on a smooth section of the balancer there should be little if any voltage showing. When the sensor is on one of the air gaps it should show around 5 volts.

overdrive problem
When does it work again? Does it just eventually work again or is there something else you do that makes it all work again? How periodic does this happen?
-
overdrive problem
I'm going to say it has something to do with something shorting. Not sure if dodge auto's are the same way, but I think the O/D needs sufficient voltage to engage and lock the tc. Without the voltage, you just get the other gears and no tc lockup. Either way, it surely is all stemming from the voltage drop, which that big a voltage drop has to be a load comparable to the grid heaters, so somewhere you have a very large draw, wires should be melted, or grids sticking on, something like that, a huge draw. If it happens a lot, I'm thinking something is just barely touching until you hit a bump and they arc and fry until they eventually melt apart, awaiting the next bump, if it's the girds, then something is energizing them sporadically. I think I am missing something though so someone else will chime in. This may help you figure out some other issues. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/1stgen/wiring/wiring.htm

Help! No water temp, oil pressure, or tach. ECM failure?
Sounds like you still got some loose connections. Might go through and check everything. 0237 is low input turbo boost and the other has to do with not getting data from PCM. Probably all stems from the PCM having a loose connection so check all that again.

New diesel toy on order
My dad did the same thing after going through several "POS" variants. We have been beating the hell out of ours for several years and it still doesn't show any signs of getting old. Only thing is my dad has a bad habit of starting it and mowing instantly (2600RPM) before it is warmed up so it has a white smoke issue now.. It will never let you down though!
-
Time to bite it :) - which CHIP - Edge/MVP/Smarty
Now your gonna start stacking chips and break the thing in half I put mine back to stock so I wouldn't be tearing it up as much when I decide to be hard on it. I had to pass someone after I did that. It was back all the way up the next day

BHAF filters...
Whistle.. That's all there really is to say about it, you can finally hear more whistle.

Just a little deep..
Yeah that would suck! Especially if you heard the fishing was good.. How old are those pics?

Just a little deep..
It's one of these. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Hilux Surely one of the later generations of the 80's or 90's. You sure have a lot of stories to tell about things on the water. I have to drive 45 miles to get to the closest lake, so I have barely heard or seen any stories like that. Very interesting how they did all the water cooling of the exhaust. Maybe he shoulda put stacks on it

More 2 cycle oil stories
Just about everyone I know is biased on which smells awful. Everyone who owns a gasser gags on diesel fumes and vice versa. I really can't stand it though, all you see on gassers is white smoke and water pouring out the exhaust like some chemical plant. ULSD burns my eyes a little, we run B5 LSD in our tractor and that is truly some good smelling stuff, doesn't burn my eyes either.

Oil pressure Gauge
I thought the 98+ cummins' were just indicator (on/off) gauges..? So if you have sufficient pressure, it reads 40, if not, it reads 0.
-
More 2 cycle oil stories
Not really sure how ULSD compares with LSD, think it might be a little stronger. I know that one drop of biodiesel seems to make the entire tank smell like french fries. Either way I would rather smell diesel than a gasser exhaust that makes me gag.

changed the coolant today
I thought you just drained what you could and filled it back up, you never said you flushed it til now. If you flushed it then all the old coolant should be out.
-
What for exhaust?
Sure didn't help any on mine Wonder if I just needed something more massive..hmmm

What for exhaust?
Mine is 5" and exits in front of the back tire, so I don't even go over the axle. When it was straight piped, it would kill your head when it hit that droning RPM which is around 1800, anywhere else and it was fine, but with a trailer....I think I watched my windshield crack more... It was absolutely unbearable. I put a semi truck muffler on it and that killed the drone but it comes back with a heavy enough load, but even then the drone is fine. I don't know if straight piping and going over the axle so it wasn't exiting so close to the cab would fix it or not. I put a 1/4" piece of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" angle iron about 3' long down it when it was straight and droning to all hell, I didn't notice any difference at all.
