  1. Let's not forget about the next maybe "pandemic" coming down the pike, monkey pox. They are slowly ramping up the hysteria over this one. As of 6/10/22 "Public health officials have identified 45 cases of monkeypox across 15 states and the District of Columbia, up from 21 the week before, while more than 1,300 cases have been detected globally in 31 countries." ¹ The US now has over 100 million doses of smallpox vaccine with almost another 2 million either ready for shipment or being produced. ¹U.S.News

  3. These two articles might help. https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/51_engine/electrical/alternator-not-charging-testing-voltage-control-r538/ https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/51_engine/electrical/alternator-and-pcm-protection-r617/
  4. Is that for both sticks and auto transmissions?
  5. Hand calculation is the only way to get a true MPG reading. Be sure the speedometer/odometer reading is correct for tire size. When I changed my tire size from 265 to 245 75- 16 there was a + 3.2% error, at 60MPH the speedo was reading 62.
  6. @JAG1, just off the phone with Glenn and told him about the campgrounds you found northern CA. He says he might be interested in them and want more info. If anyone else knows of good campgrounds north of Reno or Susanville, please chime in.
  7. You're probably already doing this. Pre lube all parts before assembly.
  8. I can't afford to use a diesel pump, so I haven't experienced that problem. Cheapest diesel price near my house is $6.59/gal.
  9. Above was two short years ago and now, they got what they voted for.
  10. When my torque convertor failed it would not lockup and the trans temp would be very hot going up hills pulling my trailer.
  11. From FSM: intake valve lash .006"-.015" exhaust valve lash .015"-.030" Note: If measured valve lash falls within these specifications, no adjustment/reset is necessary.
  12. WIXS makes the NAPA Gold filters. A list of BHAF https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/51_engine/air-exhaust_56/big-honking-air-filter-r566/
  13. Yes, Call @Dynamic. He rebuilt @Mopar1973Man and my transmissions. 8311 N. Glenarvon Lane Newman Lake, WA 99025 - (503) 880-5451 He is listed in the vender section.
  14. Have a safe, fun holiday. Try and keep us posted on the trip.
  15. Yes, I have. The pressure in the freshwater system is bleeding off. There is a check vale in the pump head that may be leaking pressure back to the potable water tank. The other place pressure can bleed off is at the check valve in the "city water connection". Also check that the sink valve, toilet valve, and water heater are not leaking. I put a check valve between the pump and potable water tank. If you do don't use the cheap plastic one; they don't last. Get a brass one. I sed a Camco 23303 1/2" Back-Flow Preventer - Lead Free, on Amazon, and some hose fittings with clamps. Check these out at etrailer.com.https://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-RV_Fresh_Water-sf-Valves-pt-Check_Valve.aspx
  16. Thanks for the pics. Looks like a trip to remember. Don't forget the souvenir refrigerator magnets; they help keep the memories fresh.
  17. Have a fun, safe trip. Six in an SUV for over 1,000 miles...I hope the windows go down.
  18. Price of diesel in Bridgeport, CA is $7.699/gal. Fill up at Quik Stop, 360 US Highway 95A S, Farnley, NV. $5.54/gal.
  19. Great, have fun. It's forecasted to be 38°F high with a low of 19°F and PM snow showers at the campground tomorrow night.
  20. Where are you meeting him? I thought it was in Fernley, NV which is only 1 hour away.
  21. Check the connector between the cab and frame on the left side of the truck. The signal from the rear speed sensor is very low AC voltage. Above is the voltage reading at 45 MPH. The voltage reading never went above this value even at 75MPH. I have seen old brake master cylinders go bad after bleeding the brake system using the brake pedal method.
  22. The speedometer signal goes from the rear sensor to the ABS controller to the PCM to the speedometer. The transmission sensor does not factor into this. This could be an ABS controller problem. A falling pedal can be a brake master cylinder, weak brake hoses but you replaced those, or a leak but you did not mention a fluid loss. A booster would affect all brakes with lack of assist rather than a falling brake pedal. The proportioning valve affects the rear brakes only, there are none for the front brakes. Does the truck have front brake ABS sensors? Pleas fill out your signature, so we know what year and model truck it is.
