Fan belts squeaks
If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a belt called a 'Gator'? Possibly made by Gates, don't know for sure... anyhow it was another long discussion on this problem and all the guys were saying the Gator is the solution.

Got Burned on NV4500
If they do that kind of work I would not want their warrantee I would get my money back. What I'm wondering if just maybe it was a slip of the 5th gear nut is all that was wrong. I don't know a whole lot but I know when to fold 'em with a company.

2002 300M security system woes
Nice truck you have. I have an aluminum flatbed. It's nice to have a good headache rack. Mine is on it's second go round with a newer truck. Me and a buddy transferred it over. We did a better job mounting than pro tech did on the old truck.

My electrical gorilla
I got lucky one day, I found a roll of stainless steel wire sitting on the curb by the road. It's cool stuff too.

My electrical gorilla
Tie wire is good for tool fishing.... bends easy and stays formed the shape you need to hook tool. I think Dripley is only guy with tie wire in his truck.

I know all about that stuff I have to think about everything I do when putting something down. Forgot where I put something so go look around meanwhile I put down what I didn't forget and then freaking loose that too. I hate that drives me nuts.

2002 300M security system woes
Sorry about not getting back right away. Good info on the alarm. No one ever said anything about that of all the searching I did about it. It is under the right side of the steering wheel. Remove the big panel at the bottom under wheel and you can see it just to the right. Near the ashtray, I think one or two screws holds it. It's a black box with a wire harness attached.

Timbren
That stuff easy to fix but the guy should have head examined. He has no spring centering cap on it. Instead he has the shock absorber holding the spring only it not centered. I can see possible bent/ damaged shocks... Man... . Sway bar end links are supposed to be longer. The guy may be hiding till you gone so you can't talk with him.

That is when the TC locks up in the next lower gear needed when you manually shift... assuming that's how it works.

Hey there from Cental California
Please report back. Interested in what you find as I have some fuel gauge fluctuation. Was very bad early on cause I caused a lot by remodeling the fuel tank, stirring up the dirt, clogged the new prefilter in a short order. I changed it and stopped most of it. The rest it Is in a fuel line connection on suction side sucking air. At least that's where I think it is... the push lock at the mayonnaise jar lid on top of the tank.

Cool. Does it or can it have an exhaust brake?

That is cool... how do you shift it in manual mode? If I'm guessing right you have an automatic and a manual shift mode.

Ceramic Clutch
When my first gen wore the oe clutch at 150,000 I took it to the guys that been around for a long time. When I asked about replacing it with a ceramic clutch they looked at each other and went on convincing me to stay away from the ceramic clutch. I'm glad I listened because with close to 300-350 k added miles and 18 years later the clutch was still good when I sold it.

Dorkweed, does your new truck have a 6 speed trans that the torque converter stays locked up? Even when downshifting? That is very cool if it does. And can you manually shift without having to unlock a lever or is easy to shift?

2002 300M security system woes
Mine was acting up too and was going to wrap the alarm central box with foil to stop the RF noise problems. I never did get to it as it seemed to correct itself after I disconnected the batteries for a half a day, cleaned all the grounds under the hood including the two engine grounds. I also pulled the overhead computer and found the connector was not clicked in all the way. It seemed connected but I pushed on it anyway and it clicked another click like it wasn't all the way in. I don't know if any of these solved my problem but it did go away. I also placed the keyless entry in the door handle so when it went off (even when I used the right door key) I could shut it off fast.

Hey there from Cental California
I would get rid of the factory fuel supply lines from the tank to the Raptor by going with half inch lines. Get rid of inside the tank screens. My 01 with a 190,000 were partially clogged. Then hook up the factory filter and place the big filter on the suction side to protect the lift pump. Also scrap the fine screen on the inlet side of the Raptor. That's just plain wrong to put that in there. The prefilter should not be too small of micron. I use 30 micron pre filter. Look up Vulcan performance for upgrading parts for in the tank, he is a good person to deal with. BTW it rarely happens that the tank vent could be clogged so you want check that also. Welcome to the forum Greezychicken.

Nv4500 oil
I don't know if this will help this discussion but my Getrag 5 speed trans went over 400,000 with regular 30 weight non detergent oil. I changed it about every 100,000. Source automotive could not believe how many miles I got on that trans before a rebuild.
