  1. As soon as mine started doing that, only two short instances did that happen, I changed over to the Timbo APPs. No problem ever since.
  2. I think they are going to look good on there too. I wouldn't know what to do either. Especially if some surfaces have a matt finish not high polish. Be careful some wheels have a clear coating on them. I wouldn't want to burn thru that type finish in some spots and other places still have the coating. Maybe call a wheel manufacturer??
  3. If you get sloshed and can't find a certain bolt don't come lookin for me
  4. This society is screwed up.... they wanna control guns but how are you going to do that if our borders aren't secure. People need to protect themselves/ families. Okay, then let our military might dwindle too then who's going to protect?
  5. Pretty far after you chasing me with a big wrench for dropping bolts down the intake
  6. If you want to move out West I welcome that thought with Gods Blessing as it's better out here for mountains and wide open spaces. But if you do not do everything to your truck that has been discussed , it will eventually cost you much, like a big pile of doe, more getting stuck somewhere that all a mechanic knows is to throw parts at it. The fuel pressure thing is number one golden advice as everything else discussed. If you want a lifetime truck you want to listen to these guys. They are my buddies from afar. Just listening to them you know they care.
  7. I was down at Source Automotive the other day looking at the burned pistons on display. They said it was caused by too much advance timing. Is there a way to limit the advance or does it have to do with the driver watching exhaust temperatures? Don't know much about this.
  8. Very interesting Mike. I know you have upgraded injectors and possible turbo.... would a stock engine benefit with Quadzilla too?
  9. Yesterday I responded on another forum about a guy who was having the most incredible bad luck in his life. I told him of the times I, myself never had much faith and with that, things not going very well etc. I went on to tell how my whole life changed and got so much better, when I began to read the 'Good Book' again and have faith again. Just those 3 words.... Faith and Good book got my post deleted. This aint the America I was raised up in anymore.
  10. Sorry about bending this thread into to a which vendor issue, Vulcan performance or DAP. Being that I've never done Business with Dap I could not say anything about them. I'm sure they are indeed a very good vendor since coming from you guys saying so... I believe it .
  11. I would just stay with Eric at Vulcan performance. He will give you a fair shake for the things he knows is best. Such as a new PSG board on the VP44. He won't sell anything that has the least bit of problems or anything that has a marginal history. Eric will talk turkey too... just tell him to make you a deal if he can on a package deal. Eric, by no means is getting wealthy as he is an honest guy. I've been to his place several times and he is of the best character. Spent a couple Saturdays with him working on my truck in the early days of him starting the business.
  12. Don't feel bad Ben everyone appreciates those that are searching for it. Me too
  13. I had to do all of that but got to do it in stages. Have not gotten the trans pressure lines changed yet and cannot find where they rub and wear against anything. I'm glad you are dealing with Vulcan Performance / Eric is a good one to do business with.
  14. Driply we have better bigger mtns out here. you would love it. You can stay at my place too if you wish to tour the left coast. I'm on acreage that's shaded forest land. very secluded. You can be a squatter as long as you like with full hooks ups.
  15. I had to change out my converter as it would have cooked the batteries in lass than a year.
  16. Dave you can stay at Michael Nelson place. Very nice there Boss. You would deserve it driving that far. Staying with them is very memorable great experience. Better than the bears in Yosemite.
  17. Me IBMobile It's easy to wire in a new one. Just take note on how the old one gets disconnected. You can tell if yours is a bad charger because you can hear the batteries boiling away after many hours of charging. Just put ears close to batteries and if they sound like they are boiling get rid of it ASAP.
  18. But, as soon as you touched the steering wheel your arm would be missing. lol
  19. If I was a crook and saw Michaels Doberman sittin in his truck, like he does, there is no way I'd go near it. I think the hidden switch idea is good for areas where the crook has to get out fast but it's best to have a combination of things that keep the truck shut down if you doing long term parking. With a combination of things it would be too frustrating to figure how to steal the truck. Another aspect... I have a bud that is a car repossesor, been shot at twice, but he has a pick up truck that the tailgate goes down hydraulically and 2 arms come out and go under the front wheels or rear wheels he is taking. Lifts it up and drives off all in a matter of a minute or so. He drives off to a safe sot and then sets up all the lights for safety.
  20. what about something mechanical like a bar that goes thru the u joints? Or a bar you drop thru the floorboard goes down to the ground and locks to the steering wheel. Have a rubber plug insert that goes into the hole drilled in the floorboard when not in use. I'm thinking 1 1/2 inch bar stock.
  21. I'm curious....Was it parked out on a busy street or was it up on a quiet driveway?? I would call every paint shop around because there is no denying the way your truck is painted. I bet it's going to a one solid color that's a common stock color. Only way to hide that truck.
  22. put a note that can be only seen once they get inside the cab that says, Tow Truck Driver, have me paged inside such and such a store to come up to the front counter to give you the truck key. LO,L then call 911 and nab the guy. Problem is I'm not a big husky guy. Seriously tho I think some good discussion here
  23. Good info on the seat doing it yourself. Once my lumbar was adjusted I've never used mine again either
  24. JAG1 reviewed Mopar1973Man's Cummins article in Fuel
    Excellent write up Mike
