  1. it honestly sounds like you got a sh!t VP. When mine went out it would not start hot until cooled down.Where did you source the VP from? Is the VP refurbished with new internals and computer? If only internals the computer is on its way out. (some remans dont have new computers)Did you ensure all plugs are re-connected? Are you positive you didnt jump timing on the gear when replacing the VP?Hope this helps and sorry for the bad news. I would let other chime in as well to get a broader scope of others opinions as to the issue.good luck!
  2. if it were me, i would get a new block and rebuild it myself. Replace anything that needs it and you will be good to go. A little effort will save you some major bank on this!

  7. to iterate more specific, its to ensure the vp44 stays lubed and lasts longer since we have diesel with less sulfer in it.
  8. the first tank of 2stroke i put in i noticed within 10 miles my injectors made a little less noise. other than that i know its saving the vp and after changing the last one in freezing rain, ill spend the extra $.10 gal to keep it alive for a long time!
  9. being stick you really feel it. if i tow i keep it stock or setting 1 max. for street i like 5 but dont run it much till clutch is replaced
  10. i get a cruise control "surge" when on setting 5, the pedal is so sensitive that the calibration of the cruise vacuum linkage gives to much throttle and the truck pulls hard, then it sees that and lets off too much then its just a rollercoaster after that. i can steady it with my foot but it is clearly my cruise control overworking the sensitive pedal. im gonna rectify that soon.
  11. sounds like apps and vp to me. have you looked at the code reference in the articles section here?
  12. is the smoke bluish, brownish or white? these subtleties will point to the sourcei know you have white smoke on the header but bluish can look white from different anglesto me it could either be valve seals or the turbo leaking oil into the charge airstream
