  1. Ok thanks. I suppose a quick call to DAP and they could probably tell me what size I may need. Going to try to get out today and check thing out a bit. It's a little cold out today and still dealing with my knee issue.
  2. I don't know alot about the ford diesels, I've heard many complain about them for one reason or another. There are a few near me and I notice that they have a weird fluttery whistle sound to them. I'm sure they are not 100% stock but to me the sound a bit funny.
  3. Sooo, looked around on DAP and didn't find what I was looking for. Are the sealing washers 8mm, 12mm or 14mm? I've seen all three sizes. I haven't looked at things yet but if in fact that's what's leaking I want to be sure to get the right parts. I did see a new banjo bolt with seals on another parts site. I suppose I could just replace the bolt as well.
  4. That's doesn't really surprise me much. If the truck has never had a good cleaning it will definitely make a difference in short order. I've done this with a few gassers in the past. Amazing what a bottle of good cleaner can do for injectors sometime. It's not always the answer but they do help from time to time.
  5. Glad you ended up with the truck. Sucks that you "friend" did you that way though. That's sad. Don't need friends like that. Looking forward to the pics
  6. Lmao 😅😅😅😂🤣🤣🤣
  7. I've read his article, just haven't got it done yet. I will see if I can attend to that soon. Where would the best place be to get the sealing washers for the banjo both if that is what's leaking?
  8. Yesterday I noticed a few drops of something on the pavement under the engine towards the rear. After driving home I also noticed a fuel smell once I shut the truck down and got out. This morning I went out with a flashlight to inspect and didn't really see any wet spots other than on the rear of the cylinder head on the passenger side. It's a little damp there. I'm thinking maybe the banjo bolt for the return line? Looks like it might be difficult to get to, anyone know the size off hand? Do I need to remove it and replace the sealing washers or do these commonly vibrate loose from time to time? Also, while inspecting I saw the the center section of the front diff seems to be damp with oil or something. While looking down the front of the engine the crankcase vent bottle is pretty oily as well. Do these overflow if not emptied? I have not touched it since I bought the truck (forgot about it when I did the oil change).
  9. I was also thinking of some kind of screen on the underside of the cowl rather than the filters from Geno's. I like their setup but I guess I'm being cheap. I also need to replace a couple of the funny retaining screws that hold the cowl down and the rubber strip that runs across it. That is missing.
  10. $160 seems high to me as well. I can't see it taking more than 1/2 hour to do it. Wish I knew someone that worked at a dodge dealer or had a smarty. That would be ideal. Get it done for a 6pak. Lol
  11. What @dripley said. I would begin in the order of the torque sequence.
  12. I'm sure they will come up with a way to tax the electrics. Funny thing is I heard they give tax breaks for buying one but them they'll turn around and get it later. Lol. No advantage to it finacially, just make em feel good I guess. I'll keep burning fuel and enjoying my truck.
  13. I found out the other day that the license plates for electric cars in ohio are double what a gasser costs. Kinda messed up, you drive a toy car to save the environment and they nail you for the registration.
  14. I haven't seen anything labeled bio here as of yet. I tend to use the same station to get my fuel. I'll just keep adding the 2cycle like I have been. If it gets cold enough I have some 911 both white and red bottles.
  15. Looking like a used truck lot, lol
  16. How does the bio behave in the cold winter temps? Just curious, I haven't seen it for sale around here yet but if I do I'd like to try it.
  17. gonna be waiting to see this. I'm curious to see the difference. I to use the stuff fr Wally Mart. It's the cheapest I could find with the tc3 rating so I get a gallon when ever I'm running low. If I could catch it on sale I'd buy a few. I do notice a slight difference in sound compared to before I started using it. Seems to be slightly quieter and smoother. Maybe it's just me thinking that. I know I do feel better knowing the vp44 is getting some lubrication.
  18. Yeah, that sounds about right. I noticed the price of gas starting to climb in my area, diesel will be next I'm sure.
  19. I've been watching a bit more news lately since I'm home with my knee injury. Seems to me the whole covid thing was/is a part of a bigger agenda. They certainly used it to promote mail in ballots for the presidential election and now that's a complete disaster. Evidence of fraud everywhere it seems. Now they're using it as a scare tactic to control social gatherings and travel. Do they want us all to stay home and just look away while they do what they're doing? I don't know what's going on but I've never seen the likes of this in my lifetime. I thought things (economy, unemployment and the like) were going well before covid hit. Now, they have essentially slammed on the brakes for the entire country. Now with mail being slow, holiday shopping plugging things up and everyplace being closed or at least a person can't just walk in and do business like we did before. It really bogs thing down terribly. Like they don't want us to work to much to pull out if this stuck in the mud situation.
  20. Makes me glad I have a 2nd gen 24 valve. Injectors are much cheaper.
  21. I haven't ordered much lately, didn't know FedEx and UPS were backed up to. Probably doesn't help that the holiday season is in full swing so they are all busy as can be with internet shopping being the preferred way to do things these days.
  22. On the injectors from DAP and your steering box as well, would it be better to spend the extra money to have it shipped via FedEx or UPS? It will cost a bit more but you should get the parts you need in a much more timely manner. Just a suggestion. I know what you mean about laying in the snow and mud to work on things. We just got our first snow of the year here in north west ohio overnight. I have things to do outside but haven't been able to. I've been laid up again with a torn meniscus in my right knee. Haven't worked since November 20th so it's gonna be a rough finish on 2020 for me. Money is gonna get super tight for a bit. Have a doctor's appointment Thursday to see what they can do to get me back to work. Still have 10acres of corn in the field and a broken combine to fix not to mention numerous other projects to get to. They keep stacking up and I'm unable to do much at the moment.
  23. Did the shop install the head after the work was done? Just curious if proper torque procedure was done.
  24. I looked at dap, now they're like $550 to rent then they refund the $500. They really should explain that better though. It's unclear in the description. I'll have to call around, we have a few dodge dealers in the area I can try. It would be nice to have this feature enabled for those cold nights when I get done at work. Sometimes truck will sit there til 4-6am I work a 12 hours shift roughly. So it sits out without the block heater plugged in that whole time. Seems to take awhile to warm up.
