  1. that would cost a small/medium fortune. and you probably still get cracks in the head. would be pretty sweet
  2. i think that the cam grind is different on 12v verses 24v. i read an article about someone who found a grind that gave 24v and HPCR more power AND better fuel economy, but probably would not meet emission testing.(no problem here in the great state of oklahoma)
  3. they call them fingers, but in never see them fing........oh wait, there they go.
  4. your neighbors might be happy(no more loud diesel driving by), but i am sad to see you go. the parts on my 99 is more than any other vehicle that my circle of family/freinds has. by buddy with the 94 GMC 2500(5.7l v8 gasser) likes to rub it in all the time. i have thought about selling my 99 once or twice. i pulled bury equipment for 1yr and for the last 3yr have used her as a grocery getter and work truck(but no trailers). if i did sell it i would be looking for a 97-98 12valve:lol:
  5. i had a co-worker that had an 03 F-250 with the V10. he had a K&N air box, vorla exhaust, and a chip. he was making ~500hp......and getting 12-14 empty(no ladders or trailer and some AT type tire). :lmao:this was in 2005 or 2006. the boss man drove a F250 powerstroke and it had a quadzilla. when we got the contract on install REDBOX at mc donald's, we used that initially to pull the gooseneck that pulled the redboxes and a bobcat. 2nd day into it, the F250 blew all the seals in the auto transmission. from then on, we use a coworkers chevy 1ton(gasser)
  6. as a cable guy, i run in to dog a lot. it seems that the low income or "ghetto" areas have pits exclusively. i have heard of coworkers carrying pepper spray. nothing pisses off someone as fast as messing with their dog. i am usually faster and smarter. i'll grab a flat head or splicers knife out of my tool belt and am ready to end it quick. usually i have a 28' extension ladder in my hands. it is big and awkward, but gives me a bigger shape that most animals do not want to attack. typically for me, no one is home when i knock on the door. i go to the back to work. resident arrives home and the dog wants out, so they just let them go! recently i knocked on a door to let them know i was going to be working in the back. the home owner opened the door, and both dogs escaped and teamed up on me. one bit my ankle and leg. the homeowner did not care one bit. no apology, no are you okay, or no get the f*** of my lawn. nothing. that pissed me off. i had never seen such disregard for HUMAN life. i called animal control. first time i have ever had to go that route. if your dog bites someone(it has to break the skin) then you get a ticket, your dog gets taken in to custody to monitor them for rabies, and you have to pay for their board while in custody. i have had dogs in the past. sometimes they get loose or what ever. but at the end of the day. a dog is just a dog. no different than any other livestock. i'm a human with rights. i felt awful for calling animal control, but if you cannot muster the courage and at least come over to make sure the bleeding has stopped, then you deserve it! fighting is about leverage and torque. the reason punches do damage is because the way you stand and swing allow you to use you body as leverage. if you are fighting an opponent that is much shorter than you, you won't be able to "put as much into it". go for a weapon. heavy stick, flower pot, etc. kicks can be a savior or a big mistake. don't open with a kick(unless u plan for the following) as the animal will usually try to bite your foot/leg. but a kick after they are latched will usually have them backing up(good tip if you wear steel toes). remember that they don't like hits to the belly. when males fight for dominance. mine tried to pin the other on its back or bite the underbelly. even just a good poke there sends the message that you are more dominate then it. did they wear weaves in their hair?
  7. 01.5 and newer have 4 wheel disc brakes my 99 has drums
  8. pulling it yourself and putting it back in yourself will save you $$$. if you pull it yourself, then you might as well peak in. i am all for having a professional do the job, as it requires a lot of specialized(or modified) tools. only your 2 eyes(or a picture) can save you from getting ripped off .
  9. i bought my rotors at oreilly's(i think it was this one). i change them 3-4 yrs ago. no problems so far. they are WAGNER rotors. WAGNER is owed by FEDERAL-MOGUL(Abex,AE,ANCO,Atlas,Bentley-Harris,Beral,Carter,Champion,DURON,Fel-Pro,Ferodo,FP Diesel,Glyco,Goetze,Metafram,Moog,National,Necto,Nüral,Payen,Poral,Precision,Sealed Power,Speed-Pro,Wagner Brake Products,Wagner Lighting)
  10. is there a way to test a relay with a digital multi-meter? when wiring aftermarket equipment, the fuse goes before the relay, correct? typically, will the relay say what it is rated for(amps)? if you were to rewind the coil, would copper clad steel work, or does it need to be 100% copper or silver?
  11. sometimes a picture is worth 1000 words. these are not roller rockers, so i would image some wear is going to be evident.
  12. that just means, they want my junk in their trunk.
  13. if you zoom in on the input shaft you can see the carnage these pictures show the damage in more detail the first 2 are the input shaft. some teeth broke off. it caused damage to the counter shaft(3rd pic). a manual transmission is easy to understand once you see it. i had never worked on a transmission before i fixed this one. i scavenged an input and counter from another transmission that had needle bearing failure(from losing fluid from a leaky rear seal). i bought new syncros, 1 or 2 needles and new tapered rollers. transmission is still running good.
  14. this is NOT a dodge transmission. it is the 5-speed off of my ford ranger. it is smaller but similar. can you see why i opened her up?
  15. using a live data tool, you will see the TPS % jump around if you have a bad TPS/APPS sensor. a cam sensor(even crank sensor) would show fluctuating RPMs
  16. the previous owner could draw it at 90 pounds. he said every shot would punch through. he said he could hit coffee can lids at 50 and 60 yards. 90lbs is too much for me. i'd spook the deer before i got it back. as for h&h, i talk to a lot of law enforcement. not one has said ANYTHING nice about h&h. i cannot say anything first hand, as i only went there to take my hunter's education class(when i was 13 maybe). i would stay away from TABE's in shawnee. most people steer me to oklahoma archery in del city. i need to shoot a z7 and see if its all that. i just got sticker shock and walked away. well, your not going to get 100-300 yrd shots, so the folk that only hunt rifle season probably won't come out. its always the same people, year after year, filling there limit. they are going to fill their tags, why not let them shoot what they want? --- Update to the previous post... the only good coyote is a dead coyote
  17. you should do the valve covers while your at it:thumb1:seriously, it looks good. you will be able to see leaks for sure (and blow-by mist from the crankcase vent)
  18. i had to hock my hoyt in feb. i traded work for a high country sniper. its a older bow, but it fits me like a glove. when my buddy bought it, it had wedges in and was at 90pounds. i couldn't draw that sucker back. i estimate i have it at ~60 and love it. matthews Z7 is one of the fastest. my grandpa hurt his back at work and cut his pinky, ring, and middle finger off five or six years ago(they managed to reattach them, but has very limited use of that hand). he had to pay for a crossbow license. now anybody can use'm. i've seen a lot of people at bass pro shop, picking out their new toys. but if it has a rifle scope and a trigger, is it really archery?
  19. i drop deer with my .270, but have recently fell in love with my new compound bow. they changed the laws about hunting with a crossbow. before you had to be disabled and have a doctor write a letter that says you could not physically draw a bow. now anyone can use them. my keltec p11 only leaves my side when i bathe. during black powder, i shoot grandpa's .45i been considering getting an AR, but the children need diapers.
  20. i tried resetting the APPS to correct my "bucking" issues. the "bucking" only happens approximately once a month(some times more often/some times less often). it did not help my problemdoes jon have a factory APPS or the TIMBO TPS? i'm starting to wonder if the APPS will throw a code until its completely worn out
  21. on my 99, the cigar/ette lighter only gets power with the key on, the power outlet is always on(key in or not). if memory serves, the power outlet's fuse is under the hood, and the cigar lighter's fuse is in the cab
  22. then i found out my stock lift pump was out. after i put the airdog on, my loaded milage(bury\boring machinery) jumped to ~11-13. i learned to drive slow and was getting mid 14s before i sold that equipment
  23. they were 33x12.5r16.5s i'm putting them back on today so i can celebrate! i payed my 99 off today!
