Well hell!

We just learned that a girl working at the local pizza place has been presumed positive for Corona virus. She has not had an official test due to the shortage of them in the area but according to her via Facebook her doctors told her to presume she has it based in her symptoms.

The scary part is this girl delivered a pizza order to us last Monday. She was wearing gloves at the time but it still concerns me. The wife and I will obviously not be ordering delivery from any place in the near future and we informed our family members just to be sure no one stops by to avoid possibly spreading anything further. We are both hoping that we were not exposed or contract this stuff but will take measures for the next 10 days to meet the 14 day isolation requirements.

That being said, think before you order delivery of anything at this point.

I don't think there is much evidence at the moment for the virus living on food. However, if you're ordering food, or bringing in groceries for that matter, I think it's not a bad idea to wipe all the containers/bags down with a properly mixed water/bleach solution, transfer the food into your own clean containers, and microwave the food before you eat it, which should kill anything that may have stayed on the food. That's above and beyond, but in my opinion it's worth the headache.

Here in the UK they are saying both here and USA are on the same path if not steeper than China, Italy and Spain

Also saying it can live on surfaces for 72 hrs to the point where it's being urged to keep tissue and stuff like that outside of our waste bins for 72hrs to protect waste workers.

I finished volantarily wednesday night after telling the co I work for the risk isn't worth it, I'm now home no pay, rather be alive and skint than dead but rich, way to many people here dying, not as many numbers as the US but amount of population versus deaths is about the same, difference is we haven't got the vast spaces between cities

Whats reported there is rubbish

there are deaths on that vid thats not in the western world, malaria does not happen in the Uk or I'm sure the US

Aids does not affect the UK much now as its pretty much under control here

Cancer in the uk does not kill nearly 700 people per day and doubling every 3 to 4 days

watch the news regarding Italy and Spain when they get over the peak we as in the uk might be a week or 2 behind, the USA might be another 2 weeks after.

The UK and Europe has a nationalized health care system thank god, this looks after the richest down to a homeless person, the UK government is way behind but they are constructing field hospitals and morgues faster than you can cook a pizza, 4000 bed hospital and a 1500 slot morgue just 20 miles away all done in a week, one of 10 around our small island as in England thats not including Wales, Scotland or NI, our Gov would not do that for any reason, and for the record our gov in the uk is a very hands off as in for business not socialist..... not sure which of yours that is equal too

we are not too different to Spain and Italy as the uk has a sizeable older population, I'm not too far from that myself, the elderly is where it hits hardest, we can all pin medals on our chest for being the "it wont get me" hero... you know what it just might and while its at it it just might get someone you love.

I've worked hard for 41 years and I'm not too far from saying enough is enough...... this aint getting me

I have a hard time swallowing the direction our country has turned the last couple weeks, I get the social distancing and not spreading the virus thing, but when they can have business like pot shops declared an essential business and at the same time shut down public access to local lakes and overnight camping on public and state and federal lands, their is something wrong with that.

I was ran out of a state park by a game warden a week and a half ago, a 100 unit campground with 9 Rv’s spread out accordingly minding our own business and doing our part on social distancing, The game wardens answer was if we let you do it we have to let everyone else, I just laughed and said no one it their right mind would come out here and camp except me and a few other bozos, the wind gust to 60 mph every day and it s freezing cold out here and it’s far enough from civilization and you run out of supply’s you’re SOL. But we were enjoying it and loving the solitude

meanwhile the last two weeks they have shut down every campground and boat ramp in a hundred and fifty mile radious, you will be greeted by closed steel gates or chains strung across the road or coned off and signed, but if you want to spend your govt, issued unemployment check at the local pot shop you will be greeted with smiles and happy people.

Me, I just prefer to keep working and keep the wheels turning, and take my chances that Im in the 98 or 99 percent that survives this or at least the 80 percent that don’t need hospitalized. I’m in the trucking business and take the loads as they come, When the works their I take it, when it’s not I stay home and choose my recreation as I see fit, is that unethical in these times, I don’t know, but I refuse to become part of the heard and live in a glass bubble and live in fear.

I take personal safety serious, it’s how I’ve done my job the last 30 years, and pretty much lived my life, I never have got into the govt. knows best hype or even the company executives who think they know best when it comes to what’s best for me or my family. At the end of the day I put my trust into God, not the government  or news media

Stay safe everyone.

People can differ in opinion, respect of said opinion and the person with that opinion is key.

I expect nothing less from the members here.

Right, I agree. I believe we can all voice our opinions here and be respected by the other members. I don't agree with all that has been said on this topic but I also take them as a view from a different perspective and use those different perspectives to mold my own opinion as well as what I see in the media or other sources. I have not and won't lash out at someone for their opinions or views on things. We are all adults here.....

If you don't watch the news you're not informed if you watch the news you're misinformed

If you listen to Diesel future one day yer truck be missing, no not at idle, nor at high rpms.... it will just be plain ole gone. Gee! I wonder where  :shifty:

What I think about is how all this shutting down of everything is so good for the Gov't employees because I wonder if they still get their regular pay or partial pay?

It's also an example of what the environmentalists want.... slowing the burning of fossil fuels.... let the earth recuperate to it's normal temperatures. Bad part is everyone loses their place to live by not working together a failing economic system.

There seems to be an underlying factor to the way the world is going today.... can't put my finger on it... all I know is that it makes me want to have stronger faith in God.

The economic impact is what I'm most concerned with. I work for a close friend who is a farmer and we are sitting here watching cotton and corn prices tank. I have friends in the oilfield who are having their hours and pay cut but thankfully still have a job, for now at least.

My hope is that since the economy was strong going into this it will be easier to bounce back, it’s not like the recession caused by bad business practices back in 08.

maybe the big business can bounce back but I think it will be hard for the small business  and mom and pop operations to overcome. The longer it strings out the harder it will be.

just hope we all can find ways to stay working and support the economy and stay safe at the same time, I know I’ve had to make some un pleasant changes in my daily work activities, but beats not working at all

have you seen the milk prices?  My brother runs the small family dairy farm my grandfather started...he's seen his value drop 35% due to this.  Working on razor thin margins before...he's now losing money for each gallon produced.  Milk is being dumped across the country and dairies are being told to cull cows....yet auctions for animals are being closed due to the virus...what do you do?  Farming is all he's done his whole life and at 60 he has no 401k to fall back on....

The globalist and socialists are loving this panic and fear based suspension of our civil rights.
