I ran acroos this post that pretty much describes a problem I've been having for some time now. First post that clearly explains why miss in idle when warm and why ac on it goes away. Any rpm above idle runs fine. One other question. When this happens is ac off idle is missing or ruff, if I turn the engine off then re-start ruff idle miss is gone why?????? From all the reading I've done on injectors seems the one's called rv275 seem very popular and majorty say they work very good. Anyone have any other thoughts comments on replacment injectors? Is it good idea to replace the connect tubes or just a new O ring k?…

02 ram 3500 5.9 Cummins. When I remove the fuel cap the tank releases pressure, is this normal? I looked for a breather for the tank but didn't find one. What I did find on the fuel module was a suction, return and capped 5/16 port. I removed the cap and attached a hose to it then blew into the tank. I could hear bubbling so I figure this is a auxiliary suction port? Dose this tank have a vent? If so where is it located. The reason for these questions is I feel it has a starting issue. In the morning, cold start, WTS, crank crank crank, short start and dies. Ignition off, back on, WTS, crank crank crank, starts and runs fine. This is 90% of the time. When warm crank crank…

  5. Specifications Here is a copy of the fuel system specifications from the Dodge Factory Service Manual. Fuel pressure Normal fuel pressure should float about 14-15 PSI running down the pavement. Should never fail below 10 PSI at all. Here is a colorized fuel pressure gauge to give you a clue of the fuel pressure span you want. You want the needle to stay in the green at all times. Yellow zone is a warning that you should check the fuel filter, lift pump performance, overflow valve, etc. This is undocumented maximum pressure is 20 PSI. Now take notice to the overflow valve is set for 14 PSI so excessive pumping of fuel does nothing for performance except …

  6. Evening, all.My batteries aren't getting charged up. I had a local garage (the only garage in town) change the alternator, as they'd indicated it was bad. No, the batteries are still not getting charged. They replaced a wire from the alternator, as they said the connector was fried and corroded. When I started the Dodge up, I noted that the ammeter was just barely above the 12 amp mark (left white hash mark). I pointed that out and they said it would rise, that 12 amps was within spec. I drove around town a bit (small town) and saw that the ammeter wasn't rising at all. I took it back to the garage and they said it might be the batteries. They're fairly new (1 year old) L…

Alright, so reading into another topic, I see a recommendation was made to make upgrades to the transmission area when installing an exhaust brake.I called Pac brake, and the guy said he had never heard of doing such a thing. All he mentioned was that the auto's have a controller. It really is not much for me to go off of. So if I go pac brake down the road and don't install a stiffer flexplate and input shaft, will I be risking it?

Im trying to figure out some stuff about this wire. Im pretty sure this is the wire that makes the pump work the way it does (utilizing the sensors, etc.). My question is is this wire taking a signal from the ecm to the pump or vice versa? What sort of integrity test can I do using a DMM for this wire?

Well I have to say I wish I had found this site years ago. I have a quick question and hope it doesn't open a can of worms. I have a friend who's VP44 has gone out. He is looking for a replacement. He does not have a lot of money to spend so I suggested to him that I would sell him my pump out of my truck for the core cost and get a new rebuilt for my truck. Nothng wrong with mine but I like to head things off at the pass before I have problems. I have almost a 100,000 miles on my 2000 Dodge 2500. If this were your truck Mr Nelson who's pump would you go with. I'm looking at pump from Blue Chip Diesel. Cost is not an issue and I don't want a hot rodded pump. Th…

  12. I need some help with my 2001 Cummins. I have recently had some dead pedal issues with my truck and took my truck in to a diesel specialist and had him test my injector pump. My injector pump is fine according to him but he found that my waste gate was stuck on my stock turbo. While trying to free the gate, he noticed my turbo was cracked so I purchased a new after market turbo.Last year I replaced the stock exhaust to a 4" exhaust, added a new lift pump (Raptor) and all of my guages. So, while pulling my 5th wheel last weekend, I noticed some funny shifting patterns and sort of dead pedal syndrome. My friend told me his father in law had issues with his Superchip, I a…

Got a 2001 dodge ram 2500 getting fuel in the oil. Have tried 2 different sets of injectors 7x.010 and 6x.013, put new seals on them both times i used them.(yes i did watch them with valve cover off and could not see anything leaking out the top) I have switched the front seal on the vp44 and its still getting fuel in there. Performed a leak down test at 75 psi and dont have a single cylinder over 20% leak down. Im stumped on what the problem could be at this point. Anyone have an advice on what to look for or try next?

Hi all, I was towing my trailer today as I was looking at cars to buy. It is a nice, heavy 18ft trailer, but I was towing empty. I got back after pulling 150 miles and noticed spots all over the front of the trailer that could have been confused w diesel splash. Crawled under and found that the leak is on the hard lines from the trans to the trans cooler, right at a plastic retainer clip about just above transfer case. Their is corrosion there, appearing that salt got held their and it corroded and swelled and today it decided to rub through or blow a pin hole. It is a healthy leak. i pulled into parts store and bought some ATF+4 and funnel, topped it and c…

  20. I'm new to 2 stroke oil but I'm trying to come up with a good and efficient means of dosing it. I've got a gallon jug in the tool box but would like to be able to accurately measure what I'm putting in. Preferably a sealable container so it doesn't get contaminated throwing it back in the box. What are y'all using? P.S. getting a package from dap today. Injectors going in this afternoon.
