  2. I purchased these intercooler boots (VPMAX 94-02 Intercooler Boot Kit) after discovering the fender lip had cut into the boots on the both sides at the intercooler, it happens! http://www.vulcanperformance.com/VPMAX-Intercooler-Boot-Kit-p/icb2.htm They look really good. I'm having a bit of a battle getting the passenger side installed. The whole assembly, when all the way seated, appears to be too long by about 1". I'm attaching a few pix of where I am with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I received my ECM back from Auto Computer Specialist. Was told NOT to hook it up until I found the short to ground. Of the things I checked was the grid heater solenoids. My voltmeter was reading 12v across the big lugs on both of them. Thinking it was bad, I replaced them with OEM type, NO Ford solenoids. I am still reading 12v across the two bug lugs. TPS is NOT hooked up. ECM is in but NOT hooked up. The relay in the PDC is NOT installed. The two smaller wires on each solenoid ARE hooked up. I have found and cleaned up 4 grounds in the engine compartment. i have not had the alternator checked yet. Any help will be greatly…

Ok, I'm changing axle seals on my 00 2500 and run into a problem I've not found anywhere else. The next step is to remove the carrier. The passenger outer axle is out as is the driver axle. The diff cover is off and the cad cover is off. The remaining passenger intermediate shaft is slid all the way to the drivener side as it should be. It is making contact with a pin in the center of the carrier so it literally can't move further. All that is left is to remove the shift nut from the cad housing and remove the passenger inner shaft. Youtube shows this as an easy process. On my truck, there isn't enough room for the shift nut to come out. It looks like …

  5. I'm putting in an Airdog FRRP-100 and having a helluva time getting the 1/2 line to go onto the barb fittings. I oiled them per the instructions with some fresh engine oil and can only get them on so far. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I made a post a few weeks ago about erratic miss at ldle. Well after adjusting the valves and remembering back I had this problem on a old eng. These are DDP 50hp injectors with about 5k on them and they run good but I believe there is something wrong in the injectors. I was looking through DAP site and my head was swimming, could not find what I am looking for. What I would like is 60hp injectors, bosh bodys , very little smoke. I mostly pull heavy tractors and don't want to break anything so just staying with injector hp. I had a set of 75hp years ago but to much smoke for me, I don't remember any erratic idle with those.

  10. I just had to replace #5 injector line due to it breaking of at the head. Something that surprised me is that it would appear that the injector line appears to to be double walled with a very small line inside of the outer line separated by what appears to be nylon. I don't know that be an absolute fact but this is what I see from the damaged parts. Here is a pic of the knob that broke off at the head. I have not been able to cut the old line open to see. Is the entire line of this same construction? If so that would explain why I could not fold the line over to crimp it off. I will cut the old line open tomorrow and see what is there.

There are two electric connectors that are factory plugged. Just curious if anyone knows what they were supposed to be for. They both have factory connector plug caps on them

Fun at the Tranny Shop... I Stopped by my friend's tranny shop , I used to work for his dad when it was his shop, retired He just happened to be finishing up a 2000 dodge ram 2500 4x4 tranny on the bench and finishing the valve body shift kit and installing the valve body. He showed me the Torque converter going in it. All Ill tell ya is its a billet single disc converter, from a local performance TC building shop. He says He has been doing quiet a few Dodge cummins trannys lately My next upgrade is my tranny, Though I put a shift kit in it and it runs great, My weak point is my TC that needs upgrading

Hello all so I have been doing a lot of reading and trouble shooting, still no solutions. My truck is defueling itself at 1900 rpm then comes back to 1900rpm sometimes even revs up at 1900 no idea why not throwing any codes . My sensors are buzzing all over the place reading high . Here is what I’ve done. Checked vss and neutral ground,New cam sensor , disconnected pcm to just run on Ecm still problem is there . Then I tested my map sensor with ohms to ecm checks out fine checked apps checks out fine . I’m now thinking ground problem I checked them all and double checked. I was just messing around with ohms and tested my 5v on map to my double connector , the one tha…

  15. I recently had Dead pedal problems. Also Wait to Start (wts) light is not coming on. Now I have no lift pump noise before starting truck. Or after bumping the starter. I changed the APPS and that fixed the dead pedal only. Now I tried hooking up programmer to check codes and the programmer won't load up with key on. After 20 seconds or so the odometer says NO BUS. So I'm 95% sure the ECM is shot. I bought a used ECM. Auto trans, same year. I have called 6 dealers, NOBODY has DRBIII software anymore to reprogram it to my vin. The software has all been updated to some new carp. So. Will my truck run and drive if I just swap ECM's? I've rea…

I received my repaired ECM back from Autocomputer Specialist with a note not to hook it back up until a find the short to ground. I started looking at known problem areas. Once I got around to testing the DTC P0382: INTAKE AIR HEATER RELAY #2 CONTROL CIRCUIT I hit a snag. From instruction item 3 " If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Black wire between ECM and intake air heater relay No. 2." On my sweep Ohm meter set to the 10X scale I am reading 17 or 170 ohms. Without tearing all the wrapping off the wiring harness and looking for a short to ground does anyone have any …

  18. So I have been mulling over a way to pull fueling when smoke is being blown out the tailpipe. This is going to take a few revisions, but my basic plan is to put an arduino between the apps and the ecm then read input voltage from the APP's while watching for smoke out the tailpipe, then adjust the APPS voltage to the ECM to reflect less TPS input if smoke is detected. couple of issues, 1. keeping the sensor clean 2. version 1 won't work at night, since there is no natural light 3. placing the sensor at the end of the tailpipe may cause too much of a delay due to the time between stabbing the throttle and the time it t…
