Please help. At my wits end. I have a 2001 Dodge the problem is, after driving two hours on the highway if I come to a stop after driving this length of time and then accelerate again the truck will die I don’t lose my prime at the injector pump , I do lose pressure. but my pressure takes some time to rebuild and then it will start. I’ve pulled my tank draw straw no obstruction. I have a raptor 100 lift pump. After I restart the truck it runs fine. Starts fine when hot. Seems like it’s starved for fuel. If I bump the starter after it dies the pump will rebuild pressure and the truck will start. Any ideas ?

  2. 3. My current Heat exchanger is a little crispy after the 20 years of service and a few years around some road salt. I've seen several listings on Heat exchangers varying in prices from ~$800 dollars to as low as ~$200 dollars and curious if anyone has found a difference between them or has had issues with the different options out there. Trying to save penny's where I can without risking the reliability of the truck. Eventually I also do plan on adding an additional cooler in the loop but curious if size of the cooler will add (if such a thing) too much restriction. And lastly, currently I have my Trans Temp sensor located on the output of the trans, but I…

What’s up new guy here, just bought my truck a couple months ago and stumbled onto the site, lots of cool info. Look forward to sharing my truck and learning from everyone. Like the title says it’s an 01 dodge 3500 4x4 5 speed, it has 301k miles and was a work truck for all but a couple years of its life. Start up construction company bought it in 2005 from an old man that bought it new, they put a flatbed on it and towed equipment trailers. I bought it for what I consider a good deal considering current economic times and plan on making into the weekend truck for the family, tow my boat and looking to buy a truck camper. The guy I bought it from took …

I have a 2001 dodge reg cab 2wd with the auto tranny only bought about a month ago. It shifts great in the first few gears but the last 2 seems to hold till about 2000rpm and then shift pretty hard. I have checked the alt and am only about .024 ac volts. I am going to clean the grounds anywhere I see them. Fluid still looks brand new, but may replace and put new filter on. Any suggestions or has any one had same type of issues. Thanks to everyone so far for being helpful.

I'll preface my post by committing $200 to anyone whose recommendation solves my issue. This is not my truck in the YouTube video but it accurately depicts what I'm experiencing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xudW4yafWTc Here's some brief maintenance history on my truck: 1. Newly rebuilt tranny 2. Replaced 3 separate TPPS (WELLS, Timbos and Stock) to try solve issue 3. Installed RAPTOR 100GPH lift pump (16PSI at idle, 15PSI highway) 4. Newly installe remanned VP44 pump 5. All battery cables replaced with 2/0 7. Thoroughly cleaned engine block grounds on both sides of the engine 8. ATS signal conditione…

Yeah I've got a previous customer back. The white Dodge that I did the AirDog had a problem with 4WD and it wasn't locking in. First thought was CAD axle issues but after testing the transfer case and seeing if the shaft locks nope. Something wrong it the transfer case. I pulled the drain plug nothing came out but 4 drops of black thick oil. Removed the transfer case and open the inspection plate and ther is broken metal, plastic, and pieces. I'm heading to Boise Transmission warehouse to get a reman transfer case Tuesday morning.

I've also got a job for a 2001 Dodge truck by a local rancher that has just had a starter fire. When I inspected the truck tonight the truck does indeed still start and run but watching closely I started see white smoke from the starter again. After crawling on my back and looking up there is something damage in the brush plate and shorted out. Which then allowed it to ignite the oil and fuel slobbered on the engine. There is a few 3rd party wires that are burnt but nothing system critical. So when I get back down to doing the job I'll take my camera along and pop some pictures. Safety sake I left the truck with the batteries disconnected till I get back.

Ecm went bad and I bought a used one from a guy thinking that any or all ecms can be used. My truck is a 2001 6 speed and when I went to the dealer to have them flash the new one they're saying it's from a 1998. Stupid me I didnt ask what year truck it came off of when I bought it. So the technican tells me I need a 2000 or newer ecm and that there's no need to flash anything it will work. I've spent alot of time reading about this issue and that's the first I've heard that. So I guess my question is what years work with what and does auto/manual tranny make a difference. Thanks for any help.

Hey guys, A little info: 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 extended cab 4X4, 121,000 original miles, 78,000 when i bough it. Hey guys, I recently used my truck to haul my camper to Florida and it was bucking a little bit under a hard pull, it did not throw a CEL but I put my smarty on it and it threw a P0236 MAP sensor Too High Too Long, and P0602 ECM Fueling Calibration at first i thought it may the MAP sensor, as I have never changed it or had any problems with it, but then my oil gauge started acting up, it would show oil pressure and then drop to nothing and check gauges light would come on. So I changed the MAP sensor and the oil Sensor both out, and cleare…

I've been reading all the ecu/pcm/vp/sensor/alternator failures over the last few months on here and getting more and more paranoid by the day as over here in the uk no recovery is available for my 5th wheel and I doubt any recovery/breakdown co would touch the truck either. So my question is would a 01 ecm work with a flash on my 98.5 ? I have sent acs a message on this also. Also going to try and locate a spare pcm and maybe a new alternator and whatever else I can think of I've done the WT mod. And also Mikes alt protection

  14. Gents and ladies, This is my first post on any forum ever but I figured mopar mans forum would be the best. I'm really stuck on what's happening with my truck and it's so annoying because I just got it running beautifully not too long ago. I will start off with some back ground of the truck and the problem. Its a 2001 with about 210k miles, 2wd, automatic trans, bhaf air filter, 4 inch straight pipe, and until recently (I took it off thinking maybe it was causing my issues) an old quadzilla adrenaline that replaced my super chips (I say old because it is one of the first boxes made and I got it used, had the big power resistor replaced, then tested at qua…

  15. Hello, I've searched and can't find anything so I'm looking for some help. My 2001 5 speed will no longer shift into gear. The last few days while driving down the road, when in fourth or fifth gear, speeding up to lane change or for whatever reason the RPMs would jump 500 and then back to normal. Didn't seem like clutch was slipping or anything. Long story short it started doing it consistently more the other day on the way home, and now it won't shift into gear with the truck running. I can turn the truck off and it will shift into gear fine. The minute I fire it up it won't go into gear at all. I checked the fluid and its full. Truck has 260K on it. I hav…

  17. O.K. So planning on a 2,000 mile trip with the wife. Oil pressure gauge has not worked since purchase. Installed V2 Quadzilla. Immediately threw Low voltage for the MAP sensor. So the Oil Pressure Sender and the MAP Sensor Share the 5 volt reference voltage. So I had it. I took every thing loose that I could and then had a friends son come by and remove the rest of the harness. Dropped it down in front of the axle so that I could reach the Harness. The MAP sensor wires were twisted together and ran that way all the way to the bottom of the turn up for the ECM Plug. The wires were longer than that joint so they ran forward with the balance of the wires. So I co…

Hey guys, My son has a 2001 Ram 2500 and the two lines (trans. lines) that come off the bottom seep/leak consistently. I had the idea of just removing it altogether but wanted to see what everyone's opinion is. He does not haul anything and just drives it to and from work. My idea was to just plug the two bottom ports (trans. ports) with NPT fittings and take the line from the front of the transmission to the transmission cooler. The output of the transmission cooler to the rear port on the transmission. Seems to be the easiest route and not having to mess with the coolant lines from the Heat Exchanger. He has new flexible AN lines, but just…

Hey all, my son has a 2001 2500 24v that only came with keys when he bought it. He would like to add a FOB to lock and unlock and my assumption is that this can be done via just programming. Anyone tried this? Does this article make sense and seem legit? https://itstillruns.com/program-keyless-entry-remote-fob-6194237.html He only has keys and no FOB currently. BDK

  20. I just recently installed a power puck on my 2001 Ram...WOW!! what a difference! Frankly its all I need, or can afford. I have however been looking at a lot of posts about smoke switches. There seem to be two different wiring diagrams, One simply jumpers (through a SPST switch) the +5v. to the signal wire, the other seems to say that you need to bypass the fueler box (Edge, Quadzilla...). Does the Power puck qualify as a fueler box, or is more of a glorified boost fooler, and does it need to be bypassed? I've also seen some posts suggesting you wire a 10 ohm, 10 watt, resistor into the jumper wire/switch. has anyone considered installing a rheostat in place of the …
