Hi, my name is jeremy Excuse me to disturb you, I have a dodge ram 24V 2500 99 with a 47 RE tranny, I have a little problem with my tranny> All the shifts are good, but the problem is the 2nd to 3rd hesitate, i need to accelerate more to pass this shift, and the 4 is ok > Ive changed the governor pressure only, not the transducer, and there is no changing! but I ask to myself if the problems would be a 2-3 valve stuck on the valve body, or the TPS is faulty! I adjust the front band and the rear too, the fluid was correct, red, and there is no particulate on the filter he was clean! So I need to your help before changing something…

I started hearing a louder clatter in my eng about two weeks ago and just blew it off as colder temps in the morning. Well it blew smoke at ambient temp of 65 and when I accellerated it smoked blue a little heavy so went to shop and disconected Edge Ez and no more clatter and no more smoke. What the heck is up with that? Also my boost elbow is still hooked up, I have not thrown any codes yet, should I leave it hooked up or is it defeating it's purpose? The last time I left it hooked up it kept throwing codes.

Hello all, first post. Read allot of helpful info on here in the past. My truck is an 2000 2500. It was an auto truck and I swapped a 5 speed into it about a month ago. Been doing great, this Friday I installed a FASS DRP and a big line kit to keep my VP44 happy. Got it all done, started the truck and checked fuel pressure at 15psi. Gave it a couple revs and it wouldn't rev over 2k, would defuel itself. That's when I seen the "NO BUS" message. Only gauge that works is the tach. Pulled codes through cluster and get 920, 921, and 999. Cluster check shows all gauges and lights are good. I have spent the day cleaning all connections, pcm, ecm, cluster, bulkhead connnectors, b…

I recently had Dead pedal problems. Also Wait to Start (wts) light is not coming on. Now I have no lift pump noise before starting truck. Or after bumping the starter. I changed the APPS and that fixed the dead pedal only. Now I tried hooking up programmer to check codes and the programmer won't load up with key on. After 20 seconds or so the odometer says NO BUS. So I'm 95% sure the ECM is shot. I bought a used ECM. Auto trans, same year. I have called 6 dealers, NOBODY has DRBIII software anymore to reprogram it to my vin. The software has all been updated to some new carp. So. Will my truck run and drive if I just swap ECM's? I've rea…

Hey guys! I have been lurking for a while and figured I would join up to see if you had any insight to a problem I am having. I have a 2001 2500 ram with a Cummins and a 47re, it has an S&B intake, a 4" mbrp exhaust and a fass 100 lp. Other then these things the truck is completely stock with 230,000kms (143,000 miles) never been tuned. I do not have gauges yet and I know that fuel pressure is the first thing you`re going to tell me to check, gauges are on the way hopefully be here in the next week or two (thanks covid). The issues I am having are low power while climbing hills on the highway (unloaded I do not pull anything with the truck), here in eastern Canada we …

First time posting, I've used your advice on many previous issues reading different forums and such. Hopefully you can shoot a clear answer for me here cause I'm stuck. 1999 Dodge Cummins, I've had periodic dead pedal for the last 2 years. Would drop to an idle at highway speed and no throttle response. Shut truck off, turn back on, problem went away. Now the truck is stuck at a slightly high idle at 1,100 RPM. No Throttle response at all. I just replaced APPS with Napa replacement. No different. -Vp44 replaced 3 years ago Some other history: -one day no gauges worked and got (No Bus) on odometer. Next day "problem fixed itself" -A mo…

I contacted Cummins to see about a replacement ECM. They have them for $2700. The 3946242RX part number also goes by ENCORE CM551A. But then I also see a 3942860RX (CM550) that also claims to work with a VP44 for $1500. And also a 3944124RX for $1300. But these other two, I have no compatibility info on. I love how the overnight shipping for a 5 lb. part is $250.

My son is the proud new owner of of a "00" 3500 DRW 24V. I finally got around to looking under the hood this past Friday after his lovely wife ran it out of fuel up on main street (another story).. Anyway I noticed his truck has the same style fuel canister as my 3rd gen.. I`m thinking if the truck were mine I would go with a Baldwin PF7977 5 micron filter along with a good lift pump upgrade. The reason I`m throwing this out there is because I remember seeing somekind of warning on Geno`s website about using 7 micron filters being too restrictive for 2nd gens??? What do you guys think?

Had a wreck-replaced front clip, final phase is headlights. It's a daily driver so put salvage yard stock housings and some old Sylvania's in to be legal. Getting by with a pair of LED fog lights for back roads. Of course I'd like to upgrade. Hopefully to an LED that is not obnoxious to other drivers, or having to overhaul the whole system. Kind of limited on time, but performance and quality are priority. My thought is to convert from 9004's to 07's or whatever else that will start me out with a better bulb. Then it's between halogen and LED's, and reflectors or projector housings. I have the harness to go to quad bulbs but I believe the computer needs to be flashed. If …

Hey guys, I wanted to give you a heads up that we have created a Part Number Lookup tool in the new Articles. https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/part-number-lookup-tool-2nd-gen-24v/ You can find a couple of different years and configurations in the above link. You can open up the year / model needed and use the drop down menu to jump around or use the bookmarks tool on the main page to jump around. We will add more documents as we get them, but most parts should span the years we have.

Can someone tell me what the functions of the PCM are for a 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 automatic? I recently had the transmission rebuilt and the ECM replaced but the transmission seems to be slipping at 75-85 mph. I was told by the guy that replaced the ECM and programmed it that it’s a PCM issue but when I called trying to find someone to replace or repair my PCM they are telling me it is an ECM issue. All of my gauges seem to be working fine but my heated seat buttons on the dash light up when I crank the truck and they will flash for a while and then the hi light on the drivers side stays on all the time. The heated seats haven’t worked in a couple of years. The only issue tha…

Hey guys - I could use some help. I've done a ton of mods to this truck and I have two issues - plus I suspect I should be getting a lot more performance. 1. Very difficult to start in cold weather. If I don't have the block heater plugged in I get a ton of white smoke and it's very hard to start until the temp reading hits about 50. This is with the Edge set on level zero. Once it hits a certain temperature boom! It's like a light switch and it runs great though it still smokes (whitish) while the extra fuel burns off. Floor pedal does nothing until it runs, Edge says APP is reporting correct positioning. I can hear the grid heater go 'clu…

To all; I have been having trouble with my 2000 2nd Gen, The truck was shifting strangely, I was getting what I thought was "dead pedal". I perused the board for answers to others questions/posts. I could not get more than the 1693 code from the odometer readout...no matter how many times I did it...sorry Michael, I just couldn't get it!So far I have done the following, and the problem comes and goes.1, I removed and cleaned ALL the grounds in the system, and the battery leads, and the fuse/relay box leads2, I have replaced the Carter pump with a Fass replacement pump, just because and I have 153000 on the truck3, I have replaced the APPS with one from Timbo. 4, Today I w…

First time posting on a forum so have mercy lol. Buddy of mine has an 01 dodge 5spd 2wd thats recently bin running hot when driven empty and short distances(he had to limp it home driving under 1500rpm), almost to the point of over heating. He also noticed it was low on coolant although he couldn't find any leaks anywhere. So he thinks it might be a possible head gasket problem, I was thinking the running hot might be a faulty thermostate but then again a thermostate not opening wouldn't explain coolant lost.....so maybe he just can't find the leak or.....not really sure lol. He didn't say anything about white smoke when driveing, there isn't any smoke or leaks that he ca…
