I had my truck parked for 7 days under the covered shelter. Haven't started or drove it in a week. Been Raining for a week and off work. I just noticed a little wet spot stain on the concrete inside the driver front wheel this morning. Turns out the power steering pump leaked a little out the cap like it was over filled but it hasnt been. Started the truck and backed straight back and then noticed no power steering and no power brakes. Stopped got out , checked the reservoir and had oil in it and as the truck idled for a few minutes I could see the oil inside the pump start flowing and pump working. Got back in the truck and the power…

  3. So, I have been running my compound setup for 3 weeks now, and I am impressed on all levels. For 1500$, I have instant boost, 24 MPG, and even when I fuel it like a dragster, The highest EGT I can get is 1280*. Because of my awesome experience, I have decided to share the entire installation and give a few tips for anyone who wants to go this way. The kit I purchased is the Evilfab525 kit, here is the website link : http://www.evilfabperformance.com/shop To start this project I inventoried all of the pieces in the kit, verified the S366 T4 turbo was clean and operational, and then set out on disassembly. Problems …

  4. I am simply going to ask random questions regarding my truck and upgrades, feedback on upgrades others have done....anecdotal evidence etc.... To start off...has anyone ran the stainless diesel manifold? (http://www.crazycarlsturbos.com/Stainless-Diesel-Exaust-Manifold-SDman.htm) If so....what is your opinion on it? I am slowly preparing for compounds OR just a larger single, haven't decided yet. Specific setup is still not known at this point, however I do know I want reliability and usability over everything. In my other thread, TFaoro made some excellent points ( ). I'll be back with more ?s. Thanks. …

Alrighty gang, I finally got my new switch installed last weekend. I figured I would go through some of the basics on how I did my install just so others can have an idea on how to do theirs. When you get your switch in the mail, it should have the following things included: -The actual switch with wiring and connectors -A small piece of 3/8's heavy walled plastic tubing -Three 1" screws If something is missing, DAP will take care of your needs. If not, I am sure Ed could lend a helping hand wherever needed. First thing I did was remove the dash bezel. It just has pop clips all over the place that hold it to the front of the dash and around the cluster, radio,…

As my first post, thanks for all you do for the rest of us...I appreciate you all more than you know. I’m going through the step by step for this code and have run into a snag at step 5. Looking for confirmation with someone else before I start cutting wires. By these results I’m guessing a problem with both my white and black wires between the FPCM and the ECM and I should replace both. (Ironically both these wires have a weird little twist coming out of the FPCM) FYI. Just finished the W-T ground mod. Waiting on a circuit breaker to do the positive side. If anyone could confirm my suspicions, i would greatly appreciate it. 5. …

  7. I have not started nor driven my truck for about 6 months. She started right up but the exhaust brake in not working. I have suspicions that our dumbassed cat which has been crawling up into the engine compartment may have something to do with it. I think I have some ideas on where to start troubleshooting but it never hurts to get as much information and advice as possible before hand. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on solving this problem. Thank!

Sounds like a bad movie title, but there was a bunch of foamy goop on floating on top of the gear oil in my rear drive axle. Glad I'm on this maintenance item! Gotta assume its water :-(

Just in case any one is wondering I changed the oil filter at 7k with the first UOA and I haven't added any oil since before the 12k sample was taken. Very pleased the ol' girl is holding up this well.

Two part title because 1: I have been MIA from the site for quite a while and have now returned. Not a big deal. but Its good to be back as I have only looked around some in the last few months I think. Haven't contributed or posted anything in a while. 2: I just found out my leak at the fuel filter canister has RETURNED also. Now I have read numerous threads on this subject, but seems that no one has the same extending solution problem as I do So I thought I would ask your all's opinion on fixing vs replacing vs burning to the ground. JK on the last one. I replaced the o ring on it last year or maybe slightly longer. It has apparently given way agai…

  12. Well Gang, The Board of Directors on the Mopar1973Man.com has decided that we need to produce some new High Idle Switches for the 2nd gen 24V Cummins. We have spent a considerable amount of time designing a Brand New High Idle / MPG fooler Switch. We have learned from the last switch design and have made significant improvements. The New High Idle / MPG Fooler switch will be the same price as before, but it will be more robust and modular to allow for easier install. We have decided to only offer a "Install Anywhere Kit" rather than a gauge mount or Cubby Mount. You will nly have to drill one 1/4" hole to allow for the f…

Anyone have any experience with this product? http://www.thetunnelram.com/ does it do what it claims, more even air flow to cyl, better mileage, cooler egt's and cyl temps? Is it worth the money? Does anyone have one and can answer definitively the above questions.

O.K Guy's...after reading guesswho's thread where he posted an Oil analysis {see below} It got me concerned and i researched the places i have been buying my oil; WalMart & Advance Auto..both carry only DELO 400LE which in the analysis was rated at the bottom The DELO400 MULTIGRADE SAE (API CI-4 Plus) was what was ranked at the top along with Valvoline/Cummins preminum Blue. I have checked on the website's of Advance Auto, SAM'S Club, Autozone,CarQuest,etc.. None of the carry the DELO400 MULTIGRADE SAE (API CI-4 Plus) Has anybody else checked this out???? Richie

  15. I have an autometer EGT in my 2000 and am going to add a edge juice with attitude which also requires a thermocouple. Instead of installing a separate T-couple is it advisable just to connect my edge to the existing thermocouple? I seem to remember that the leads are specific length and impedance so running 2 devices off the same thermocouple might not be a great idea... Anyone out there done this? Thanks, Chris

I am planning the do a cooling system maintenance on my 1998.5 and have not been able to find the correct thermostat for it . The ones that I have been handed are the large one for the 12 valve. I did try one about 7 years ago and had such wild swings in temp that I thought I had done something wrong. After much thought and trouble shooting I found that the thermostat did not look like what I removed ( my fault I did not compare them when I removed the old one). I went back with the old one and finally found one that matched. Here I am 7 years later and the only one that I can find is for the 12 valve and in their data base it said that that is the only one fits from 89 t…

  20. I just did mine and realized what to do but, need some input on this idea.First of all I want to point out that the bed rib frame right in the way over the tank lid is very thin gauge steel. So my thought on this is to go ahead and cut it out of the way and place new steel reinforcement that makes it removable and stronger than original. My idea is simply to add steel reinforcement that sleeves/ slides inside both ends of the cut away bed rail and bolt them together with a few bolts. It would need to be rectangular tubing that fits inside the other just like a reciever hitch does with square tubing. When you want tank top access you simply remove the two or three bolts and…
