I finally got this kit installed last week, it took me about 4 days with the help of some friends. I used the Crazy Carls 2/3 compound kit for a 2nd gen 24v with an S300 turbo. This was not as easy as I thought it would be, a couple times I seriously considered going back to stock. Some of the issues were a result of the kit and some were not. The instructions were pretty vague and kind of a one size fits all deal. I wouldn't put this in the hands of a non mechanically inclined person and like any good install, I had parts left over. One thing that attracted me to this kit was not having to relocate the A/C, battery or heat exchanger. The aftermarket exhaust manifo…

I have a homemade compound setup that has supply lines but does not have return lines as of yet. I was planning on using another oil drain of some sort. Either factory or aftermarket that pops into rear freeze plug port. But, what size is the hose for the factory turbo drain? I’m asking cause I don’t have any extra return hose laying around to measure “ID” So I can just order a bulk piece and cut to length. 5/8, 3/4, 7/8?

Who here runs compounds?? I'm looking for reviews on pipe kits or complete kits for s300 over s400 set up. Also injector sizes. Any reviews much appreciated. CCP seem to be able to supply a kit for good money but I've heard a lot of horror stories about ordering from them! Thanks

  4. Hello So I've been searching and can't really find a ballpark so I figured I'd ask 01 bummins. Trying to pass emmisions on it currently. Tripped the speed sensor and grid heater code came on (deleted from previous owner) replaced the speed sensor and drove it 130 miles to clear them. Speedo came back so I know speed sensors good. No change in CCM. Anyone have an idea how long this may take to complete the drive cycles if everything is good? I checked my scanner a few months back with it for another speed sensor code (Snow Donuts) and it said all my monitors were ready so I know it has the will to want to go green. Edit: when I was drivi…

As promised. I forgot to take pictures yesterday when I did this, plus I did it a slightly different way than the way I am going to explain. My gauge I have had for years, I drilled the check valve out WAY bigger than when it came from snap on. This way, I can do a check without the rockers on...... Anyway. You will need to get your hands on. 1. A compression test gauge suitable for a diesel engine's high compression. I have a snap-on MT 33 B, as well as a C model. Both are good for 800 PSI. And use standard 1/4" snap in quick connect air tool fitting. 2. A compression test adapter. Looks like an injector and fits where the injector goes. For the ISB (98-2007 i…

This is what happened to me. I removed the 40 over rv fuel mpg test injectors, in my 8300 dually i did 18.5 mpg all hy miles. Then i removed the 20k over hg and replaced it with a factory one and put my 7x12 injectors back in. The 7x12 are around 200 to 240 over stock. I have to drive with the overdrive off because it can get smokey in traffic. So i drove around the city/hy mostly at 2000 rpm's and i am getting better fuel mileage. The turbo is a 64/71/13ss htt.So the question is do you think the gh change helped or running the turbo in it's peak map helped ? Or both.

I have a Holset WH1C (HX35 essentially) 56/60/14 and am looking at upgrading to a 58mm compressor wheel. Does anyone know what diameter the compressor housing needs to be machined to accept this wheel, before I call BAE? I tried a 60mm wheel and cover previously but it surged so bad I sold it. The WH1C doesn't have the MWE (map width enhancement) slot that the HX has, probably another factor in the surging. I figured for $70 and some machining, a 58mm upgrade would be a good experiment. updated i had a thought to get a database kinda of egt temps while running at a certain speed to see where we all stand compared to each others different setup. also to assist in baselining some info. Mainly its to get an idea of EGTs with each setup. If you have a gauge post up, if not dont guess. (this isnt a competition, its to help all of us out) I will start... @70mph my egts are appx 750F no headwind and outside temp about 75 deg @65mph my egts are appx 620F slight crosswind temp 70 35" tires 6th gear nv5600 stock setting RV275 injectors HX35 level road surface NO load

OK I am not a transmission mechanic. I was thinking of putting a TC lock up switch on my 2001 Dodge 47e ? trans to aid in down hill retard. Also thinking about moving an ex brake from my older dodge. Question: If the tc is in lock up, isn't it locked in all gears. Will it lock in 2nd if the speed is kept with in the 2nd gear range? 22 to 35mph? Also heard of hooking switch with a 33ohm, 1/2 watt resistor and leaving the relay in tact for near normal operation except hills. Input would really be appreciated.

Long story short. For a few weeks now my tranny seems to have a problem making up its mindwhat gear it wants to be in. This only happens at speeds around 50 mph and it shifts repeatidly from od back to 4th then back to od again. I do have 35 inch bfg's on it but do not ever recall it doing this.Any suggestions?? Ok,I consider myself somewhat knowlegable on my engine. Some history first,I drove to Springfield IL to pick up a trailer, delivered to KS,noticed that vaccum pump to front case was leaking, went to my local cummings dealer for gasket(not a big deal, done several times before). Left to pick-up a trailer in Des Moines going to SD,truck purred like a kitten for 130 miles at 72 mph, loaded trailer and headed out,30 miles later felt a miss, loss of power, pulled in to a fuel stop a mile down the road, lifted hood to see oil all over the place(never lost good oil pressure(40-45 psi)20 psi at idle, shut truck down.Found that oil was leaking from push rod cover(this is where I get confu…

Alright, so in the midst of moving, I decided to try and kill 2 birds with one stone. Loaded up the dodge full with firewood. I had a cord of wood in the truck, but about 3/4 of it was just cedar. The other portion was maple. Really, I did'nt think it would cause a problem. I hauled alot more wood then that. I have stuck green paper birch in the truck in 8 foot lengths all the way to the top of my wood rack. Thats a crapload more weight in the truck then what I was just hauling. So, being that we were moving, I was driving the u-haul. I left the wife in charge of driving the dodge. She was not too confident in driving with this much weight in the truck. I told her she woul…

  17. I am thinking about adding an Eaton True Trac to my Dana 80 rear axle with 3.54's. I have gotten by with open differentials for almost 17 years on this truck but have gotten stuck bad only once. I have noticed on MANY occasions that my truck has almost ZERO traction on level ground on grass and inspite of my best efforts NOT to spine a tire almost always do. Yesterday while checking on a forestry unit I had to drive up a very steep access road which was little more than a smoothed up logging road. I made it to the top but I could feel the tires slipping here and there while in 4WD. Has anyone here had an Eaton or similar True Trac differential installed in their truc…

Anyone know a good way to disable the alarm system? It's going off every time I use the key and then have to use the key FOB and hit lock then unlock to shut it off. I don't want to carry the key fob as I may loose it. I keep it in the door handle for whenever it goes off on me but, now it's all the time and had to disconnect the horn. T.I.A.

I have searched the forums til I am blue in the fingers and I cannot find a diagram for the lock out switch. I know I am terrible at finding the right search terms but man! I thought I saw diagram a while ago with the switch and the included resister? I am not an electronics person, I know it is a 33 ohm resistor but what about the rest of the values? volts? watts? And would you know where I can find a flared section of pipe for the 4" outlet on a Banks brake? Or some other way of adapting the pipe to it? Rick - - - Updated - - - OK, Let me rephrase this.
