  1. The Beast NV4500 has a issue with getting stuck in 4th gear. Now I know @dripley mention his shift issue for his NV5600 where the steel tip was worn out and had to replace the shift tower. Now for the NV4500 I've been hanging up with 4th gear if I shift too aggressive from 5th to 4th. If I do hang the shifter up I've got to pull the shift tower up to free it and then shift all forks back to neutral. Then reinstall. When I heard about Dripley and his issue I only looked at the shift tip for the NV4500 and didn't see why. Well my trip back from Parma with the wheels I got stuck in 4th gear again about 8 miles from home. Yesterday morning I got up a…

Just installed a genuine holset 60mm compressor wheel and housing on the WH1C, from GDS. I believe it was a 56/60/12 and now it's a 60/60/12. Only took it on a small victory ride but it seemed to pull better in lock up in the lower rpms and up high too. Already had a boost elbow and a 38 lb spring waste gate. I was wondering if anyone has experience with hybrids and how efficient they are for around 400 horsepower. With my current mods: edge comp, 60 hp injectors I should have around 415 hp at the crank and I'm done increasing power. No sled pulls or track time, is the 60mm compressor too much for 12cm turbine housing?...no gauges yet

Hey fellas new here. I’ve got a 2000 24valve vp truck and the trans has been rebuilt. Receipt says reman billet converter. From time to time I have lock/unlock issues pretty sure it’s the alternator wire. Problem now is the truck is easing into lockup, shuttering, rpms just fluctuating at lockup. But it only does it under moderate to heavy throttle but converter locks up fine under full throttle. Doesn’t matter if comp box is off or on level 5. So is this converter issues, valve body issues, voltage problem or what?

  7. Hi I'm new to the site but have learned so much and hoping you guys can help me out. I've been getting a dead pedal at 53-55lbs of boost, things I've done aside from power mods are auto to nv5600 and 2001 fuel filter with twist off cap. Power mods are on my profile. I've replaced apps, map sensor, made sure the quadzilla is good, have good fuel preassure, and great power till that specific boost. Any ideas would help. Thanks.

Hello all, This year is not a good year for my 24v. I have been having some issues with the 47re in the truck. It would sometimes seem like it would skip 1st gear so this past weekend I changed out the Gov sensor and transducer, but now I have no 1st gear even if shifted manually. I adjusted both bands to spec and trans seems to just glide into other gears. The atf was dark and had dark sludge on the magnet, but nothing excessive. Have the clutches burnt out? I'm at the point I may trade it in on a 2008 Ram 2500 with 6.7 and g56.. What do you guys think? Tim

  9. Hi all. This is my first post. I wanted to just post on one of the other vp44 threads but wasn't able too?? Anyway, i have 2002 Ram 2500 5.9 HO 6 speed with 606,000 km's (376,000 miles) probably higher because the truck has always had bigger tires so the speedo is off a little. bought the truck a year ago with 589,000 km's. Truck needed alot of work. I had always heard about the VP 44 and all the problems associated with it so it was actually the Cummins Engine that I didn't want but it was the only one that was available to me at a cheap cost so i bought it. I started doing lots of reading on the VP 44 and try and understand how it all works. I'm a m…

I’m considering messing with my injector pop off pressures. Iv heard of people having good results with 320 bar with the 75HP sticks. Basically I want the optimal pop pressure for my truck that is not running any tuning just the larger injectors. Part of the reason I’m pulling them is to make sure I have them installed correctly and all washers, o rings, etc are properly installed. Anyways what’s the verdict on pop pressures?

  11. I was on a long drive home across Canada for Christmas and at the end of my drive my truck started bucking a little bit, at first I thought it was just running a little rough so I limped it the last 50km's to my parents. Look into it a little and saw the APPS reset and tried that. The next day I hop in to drive it to town and it idles fine when I am warming it up for 10min, I start to drive it and I can tell something isn't right. Bucking at any engine load, Surging up to 2500rpm when I put the clutch in, sometimes to the point it seems like I was going to break a motor mount or run away. (Never any dead pedal though, I could put to the rug and she wouldn't h…

I'm leaning more and more to keeping the 99, Added up close to $6,000 in new parts. One thing that I don't understand is in March of this year another rear seal was put in and it is also leaking. It's not a big leak but a little drip periodically. Where should I start looking and how do I verify an issue is causing this? Center Bearing seems to be fine. There is no way I can jack this truck up to get under it but I have a friend who has a shop that will put it on a rack for inspection. Should I try and find a diesel shop that deals with diesel repairs to take a look. So far the Dodge Dealership, a second automotive repair shop and a third repair shop that just put on new …

I have a Holset WH1C (HX35 essentially) 56/60/14 and am looking at upgrading to a 58mm compressor wheel. Does anyone know what diameter the compressor housing needs to be machined to accept this wheel, before I call BAE? I tried a 60mm wheel and cover previously but it surged so bad I sold it. The WH1C doesn't have the MWE (map width enhancement) slot that the HX has, probably another factor in the surging. I figured for $70 and some machining, a 58mm upgrade would be a good experiment. As things come up, I will resurrect this thread to ask questions. Will I be able to have the clutch pedal safety switch to lock out starting unless clutch pedal is depressed? Do you see it as possible to do the swap on the shop floor without a lift? I'll get one of those harbor freight transmission jacks. I had a ride in a same year truck as mine with a nv4500. I like the personality of the manual transmission. I'm looking forward to swaping out mine!

Got a 1999 24v 3500. So the top of my filter housing is leaking fuel. My question is. If I purchase the fass fuel titanium system with the dual filters. Will this eliminate the factory filter housing?

I dropped the fuel tank today to clean up extra hoses and tubes and fix a small leak at the sump. I had no idea I had so much stuff on top of the tank. The end of the straw is probably a match head of inch from bottom of tank. What is your best guess of why a draw straw would be installed one day and next day after installing it says he is going to install a sump? Thanks

Can a failed or failing MAP sensor cause my truck to be very sluggish down low and continuously the P0234 code? I once upon a time had an edge ez but it’s gone now. The boost elbow that came with it is still installed though. I have a fass lift pump and a FP gauge. Otherwise all stock. Truck feels like a total pig off the line and doesn’t feel like it starts making any power until 1800 rpm or so. Also has trouble holding highway speed in OD on any hills even empty.

Quadzilla Adrenaline Daily driver tune The issue I have is.... there is an inconsistent time for the WTS light to come on. there is also a duration the light stays on Some time when I start the Dodge she fires rite up half a turn and she comes to life other times she will turn over and not start until the second and some time the third try I am thinking the module that controls the WTS light seems to be in league with the issue. I don't remember it taking so long to come on. when I put the key in the ignit…
