What do you guys think...have Vulcan fuel pressure test gauge. It goes zero to 30 psi. I want to test my 5.4 gas fuel pump. Looking for 20 thru 40 psi. Will gauge break if it goes or (max) 30 psi or will gauge just top out. And I assume vulcans test gauge doesn't care if diesel or gas?

  2. Well haven't been on here for a couple years. My old 2002 24v 6 speed's life came to an end and mine almost did as well. Was Sept of 2016 and I was coming home from fishing. Was about 9:30pm. I was traveling below the speed limit by about 5km/hr. Speed limit is 100km/hr (approx 60mph). I noticed a truck was really wanting to pass. So I was driving along then out of no where Big Canadian Mr Moose comes trotting out. I had a split second to figure out what to do. Either hit him and maybe have him come through windshield and kill me or go around him and almost certain roll my truck because of the non existant shoulders of the road and steep banks. So I had no …

Hey old pals! It’s been a long time since I posted! So after I fixed the air leak in the fuel line the truck ran perfect up until about 3 weeks ago. This happens with both warm and cold starts but mostly when warm. I turn the key start it and it willsputter a little bit and clear up on its own within 6 or 8 seconds. No check engine lights and everything else is working well. Any suggestions? My thoughts are something with injectors or another air leak. Currently getting 18.5 mpg. Thanks fellas!

I've had an issue with my truck never shifting properly, but I never really addressed it until now because I had always assumed it was the stock trans that was on its way out and was in need of adjustment. However, since I installed a brand new revmax last week and the truck shifts exactly like the stock one did, I've been chasing down issues to source this problem. What the truck is doing: -Only starting in 1st from a complete stop. Even if I slow down to 2mph, the truck will still in take off in 3rd unless I give a lot of throttle to force a downshift -Short shifting 2nd gear... 1st gear will take me to about 10mph under light throttle and then 2nd…

  5. When I first got the truck, there was a lot of black smoke coming out the tail pipe, more or less all of the time. I changed the fuel filter and most of it stopped (I don't think it had ever been changed), but perhaps that is coincidental. Now I get quite a bit of black smoke when I step on it. I also put in a fuel pressure gague and the fuel pressure is running about 12-13 at idol and can drop well below 5 when I put the hammer down. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

  6. Hey guys, My 2000 Dodge has an ATS built auto that was installed about 70,000 miles ago. It also has the ATS tripleloc commander. This device, when turned on, will lock the torque converter based on speed. It has ⬆️⬇️ Buttons to change the speed and which it locks. The problem (or what I don’t like about the setup) is the factory logic will still lockup the converter when it wants to. For example: driving around town I don’t want the converter locking because it is pretty harsh and jerky, so I hit the up button on the ats commander and it won’t call for lockup until 45mph, but the factory computer calls for lockup at about 33 mph. Then if you …

So when I put my truck in drive and try to power brake it. It won’t go over 2000 rpms,it just acts like it’s red lining. I am just wondering if the 0237 code could cause this and what else it could cause? Thanks

Still getting to know my new to me ‘99 3500 and looked in the bellhousing inspection window today since the previous owner said it had a billet converter. Sure enough it did, but can’t tell what brand it is. It’s painted blue and I didn’t see a drain on it. No identifying marks. Does anyone have a guess as to who made it?

  10. Hey guys I am doing the south bend dual dish 3250-5K-ORG with the 1-3/8” input shaft upgrade as well as the 5th gear retaining nut upgrade. I am all the way to the clutch for and the throw out bearing step. I read the directions and it said to replace the clutch fork with the one supplied in the kit. However it is poor quality compared to the OEM one. Will I have issues if I do not use the south bend one? I’m looking for an education on this because to me these parts look very similar.

I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins, long story short swapped out the engine, (it's not a good thing when you suck valves down into the cylinders) an engine from a 2001 Freightliner Step Van that I put in my Dodge and now I can't get the tach to work more than 30 seconds approximately. I have tried 3 different camshaft sensors. It runs but doesn't have the power it should. Been working on this truck off and on for over a year. Frustrated in Denver.

  14. Well today I was pulling a .. Ahem.. JETSKI out of the lake and for the life of me I could not gain traction. Pretty rediculous. Finally I used the ebrake trick to ease it out. Cmon though, a jetski! Anyway my truck performance add-ons are listed below. My question is, you think just tires are my problem? If so what are some good tires I can put on my 16" stock wheels? Or, if tires aren't it, other suggestions? Current - LT245/75R16 120/116s 1999 dodge ram 2500 5.9l Turbo diesel - Quadzilla Adrenaline Programmer - iQuad Bluetooth Guage display - hx35w turbo - boost elbow - Pusher 24V2G Aluminum Intake Manifold - S&B Cold Air Intake - Air d…

My 2001 4x4 is having an issue with the driver side front turn signal it flashes fast and very dim and the light under the hood also flashes along with it. The rear signal is nice and bright but also flashes fast. I've replaced the bulbs and nothing. I'm sure it's a ground issue but I have no idea where to even begin. HELP for the love of god!

I recently sent my ECM off to be repared. Once it was installed, there were still issues with getting it started and staying running. the ECM repair technition told me I have issues with fuel delivery. I have narrowed the problen to PDC fuse #3 (circuit A14 RD/WHT) thru the wiring harness to PDM 1 on the firewall. With everything plugged in my test light lights up when I touch #3 fuse "blade". I can unplug connecter 1 at the PCM and the light goes off. The same circuit will also branch off to the connecter and connect to the ECM wireing harnedss which powers the lift pump. I have been able to get it started but will no stay started. I think there may be an issue inside …

  17. A little back story- i bought The truck with a bad lift pump I changed the lift pump to a raptor 150. When I went and had everything bolted up in the original location for the raptor and plugged it in and went to prime my truck I realize that the driver for the lift pump through the ECM was bad I was getting no power to my lift pump so I hardwired it to an ignition source . I knew in the back of my mind the VP was going to be close behind I anticipated the job. About 2 Months ago when the weather started getting warmer once my truck was hot it was having trouble starting it would take a few seconds to crank and then finally start so I ordered a new pump and put i…

  18. I've seen a lot of info in this forum about engine oil but didn't run across any focused discussion on the topic. If anyone knows of one please direct me to it, if there isn't one now would be a good time for one. I'm planning to change my oil in the next few days. My local parts shop recommended Delo 400 15w40 oil and WIX XP filter (see picture) The fella at the parts shop also said something about using a thinner viscosity in winter. I do go to where it's cold but it's not exactly cold in Los Angeles. I'm hoping some of you that live in cold climates will know about this first hand. Let me know if this is the oil and fi…

I know that you guys have said that the HX35W is the turbo to get, but my HY35 has worked well for 250K. I currently have 100HP injectors, 5" exhaust, Air Dog, HBAF, and low fuel pressure light. I do not have an EGT sensor or tuner, and tow a camper and bass boat, so I am slightly worried about my EGT's, but figured the 5" exhaust would help keep those in check. SO, do I rebuild the HY35, or spend the big bucks to get a HX35W, as I can't seem to find them used with low miles. Oh the current HY35 has oil leaking on the intake side, so I am pretty sure it is toast. Thanks
