  5. Hey guys, I figured I'd post to see what you all thought. At completely stock power or with the edge comp all the way up, stock injectors and turbo or aftermarket, it doesn't matter, the truck will die after a hard pull if you take your foot off the pedal. It won't drop back to idle like it should. If you keep your foot on the pedal just a little bit for a couple seconds, it recovers and all is well. It sounds like it's running out of fuel. The airdog never drops below 12psi. The vp has about 3000k on it. It did it with the old vp too. I'd like to understand why if possible. Thanks.

Looking to upgrade over the rv275's that are in the truck currently if possible, not sure if I have the proper supporting mods to use upgraded injectors if I do. So heres the list, -quadzilla xzt -fass 95 -bhaf -4" turbo back -hx35 w/ ww2 (don't waste money on this wheel) -3 piece manifold would I be safe upgrading to 50 or 75hp injectors? Or would it be a safer bet just to stay where I'm at? I'm only looking to upgrade because what I have now are starting to haze.

Hey guys, did a little searching online and found this website. Maybe someone on here can help. Lately my truck has been making a hissing sound coming from somewhere around the sending unit/fuel lines. When it hisses, the truck cranks over about 10 seconds before it starts, like it's not getting any fuel. The airdog always runs 15 psi. The truck will always start right up within about 15 minutes of shutting it off. But if I let it sit for a few hours, it may or may not start right up. It also seems like this hissing sounds is related to starting. More of a hiss, the harder the start. Maybe I'm thinking too far into it. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Alright, so I just put a set of DAP 7x10 SAC injectors in my 2001. It is a pretty stock truck IMO. Any advice on tuning? I’m trying to cut down on the smoke and avoid having to put around at next to no throttle. Truck is a 6 speed, only mods are raptor lift pump, BHAF, 4” straight exhaust, the injectors, and a quadzilla with iQuad. If I give it more than est. 15-20% throttle, it smokes like crazy. I think I can tune most of that out, and hopefully get some more power out of it. EGTs are below 750 cruising and the stock HX seems to be doing its job. Any help on where to start would be much appreciated.

  13. This article was created to shed some light on the facts for tuners on a VP44 Cummins. Here is a quck list of features for various tuners so you can compare. The $K / Redline /TST PMCE are not included as they are a special breed of tuner that people run for a specific reason. Not all tuners are equal and there are a lot of opinions as to "what is best" Use this to figure out what is best for you and your truck. 14. 99 2500 Ram. Pick up was parked all winter, went to start and just cranked over, shot it with either and started up and was good, thought just lost pressure. Then, at station getting fuel and same thing. I replaced full pump on block thinking that was it and get still does it. Dan a power wire to pump to toggle pump on but still does it with pump runnnning, Abby very annoying. I am thinking it is the control box on the side of block in front of pump. Anyone agree. This is intermittent and can go weeks and be fine. It will always start with a shot of juice. Any ideas

put new DAP injectors in last summer. Have been fighting High EGTs and black smoke since. Didn't think +50 injectors would cause this much trouble. MAP 48 when pulling hard. Is there ANYTHING in the VP44 that can make it overfuel with no codes?

Just wanted to share a dead pedal experience. One March 19, 2018, during a return trip from Crescent City pulling my travel trailer, I exerienced the dead pedal syndrome about fifteen times in the last 35 miles to home. Each event lasted about 20 seconds (sometimes longer). It was a slow 35 miles, but the truck made it home. At this time the truck had logged a total of 289,000 miles with 202,000 miles on the VP44. The check engine light came on and stayed on and code P0121 ( Accelerator Position Sensor Signal Voltage Too Low) was set. I was hoping that I could replace the APPS and the problem would be resolved. I went on-line to Blue Ch…

Have any of you changed your metal heater exchange coolant lines that run under the exhaust manifold to make more room for the 3 piece exhaust manifold? See attached pic of where I am pointing to. The piping is really tight and close to it. I can only adjust it a little and the new turbo blanket will help with the heat to them. I was thinking of changing them somehow and was wondering if anyone has done this mod? Thanks!!

I just installed a Fass 165gph system on my truck. I previously was running the carter pump on the frame with no issues. Now if I let my truck sit over night it cranks longer before it starts. Also I see no fuel pressure on my gauge until after the engine starts. My fuel pump is wired to the 10 amp fuse in the cab marked ignition. After the truck sits over night I turn on the key and check the fuel neck to see if the pump is pumping and maybe my gauge is wrong but its not until the truck starts. I am lost on this one its not that complicated of a system but this has me stumped.

So my VP went out towards end of April. I purchased a new pump from thoroughbred with the new electronics. Immediately following install upon starting the truck I had a 0251 and 0252 DTC. I went back and forth with their tech trying to trouble shoot it. They ended up sending me a second vp. I ruled out all causes on the vehicle end that could cause 0251 and 0252. I have not shipped both pumps back to them and they want to charge me an additional 650$ for the second pump they sent out because the fuel shop says fuel contamination. The pumps had a total of less Than 5 minutes of run time total. Both pumps IMMEDIATELY began throwing the DTC’s. Any advice on how to handle…
