I want to begin to upgrade my fuel system, truck is stock for the most part (see sig) but does have a FASS ddrp lift pump. What I'd like to do is relocate the pump to the frame near the tank with a relocation kit and run a big line kit from the tank to pump, pump to filter housing and then filter to VP44. Can I do this in steps? Such as filter to VP first, then relocate pump and run the rest of the big lines at that time? Or should I just accumulate the parts and do it all at once? Will I also need a draw straw with this setup? Also, will the larger lines decrease pressure? I'm not a fluid expert but I would think larger lines would increase volume but possibly lower over…

Hey guys, quick question. I ordered a Nations 180A alternator for my 02 cummins. Is it a drop in/plug and play? Does anything need to be changed with it? I have the bosch 136A currently and am trying to reduce AC ripple.

Ordered both a Quad and Assassin last week, just waiting for them to arrive, it will be an ouch on the import duty and tax into the UK but thats life i'm afraid. Going to fit the Fuel transfer pump first, looking forward to getting shut of the electric thing. Not interested in getting on the more power bus with the quad just want to build a good mpg towing tune thats clean. One city 15 miles from me is going carbon neutral within the next few years which means a total ban on diesel vehicles, this can only get worse here so clean as me thinks. If that fails sell the cummins back into USA and spend the £ on my gas ram ☺

I have a suspicion I may have VP problems. But no codes with a good scanner. I know these pumps can be tricky. Truck starts immediately and quits after a second. Try and start 2nd time - does the same thing. 3rd try, finally starts and stay started but runs rough for a 7 seconds then clears up, runs fine. Drivability is normal . Point nose down hill - no improvement. I installed a Fuel Boss about 500mi ago and it has been great. Cleaned pressure valve in pressure line (included w/Fuel Boss plumbing). New crossover tube O-rings and injectors 1500mi ago. New return T O-rings, new banjo washers. …

Hi Folks, I want to preface this by saying I searched this site and many others without finding satisfactory answers. The issue is that my clutch does not appear to be disengaging when I depress the pedal. The symptoms began yesterday with a sporadic increase in effort to get it into gear when shifting. Today, over the period of about an hour of mostly easy highway driving with a few of stops, the symptoms persisted and worsened until the clutch would no longer release and I had to start the truck in gear to get moving and float gears to shift to get the truck home. What was weird to me is that it was inconsistent in the behavior, mostly the clutch…

Okay, just tried the scanner we have at the store here (innova 3100), and it won't read my truck. What are you guys using for scanners for our cummins trucks?

What's the procedure ? I'm guessing just pull the bottom pulley and pump mounting bolts. Then tilt the pump down to get the drill chuck on the shaft? Do you need a 3/8" or 1/2" drill? Spin clockwise? Or do they make a pulley you can put on a drill and use the belt to prime?

I went to smog my truck in CA and when the tech plugged in to the OBD2 his computer could not communicate with my truck. He asked if i had a tuner or something on the truck. After 3 shops all unable to read the OBD2 i am left scratching my head. Would flashing ECM or PCM help? Need to pass ASAP! The truck has never been tuned. but did have the ECM reflashed in 2019 by Auto computer specialists truck runs great. no codes. Any help would be great.

So recently I’ve been noticing when i leave in the mornings for work after letting my truck warm up, my coolant temp is never past 165. No matter how long I let it warm up. I Was hauling my horse trailer this morning it was 34° And the coolant temp never reached 190. Maybe touched it once on an uphill but otherwise no. Is this a problem? Stuck thermostat?

  14. 1998.5 24V It starts fine and quick, runs strong then the fuel pressure will fluctuate and it stalls. It will not restart. I found the fuel overflow valve is getting stuck in the full open. Replaced the fuel overflow valve but it keeps happening. If I push the ball on the overflow valve it will start again.

Curious if anyone could tell me if there would be any difference between a 99 ECM vs my 2000 ECM It it came off the same engine I.E. H.O. 6speed? Reason, I'm getting back into hauling trailers as soon as my freshly fused ankle allows me to, and FMSCA might require me to have an ELD(electronic logging device) not sure, because right now towaway operators are exempt for now, but 1999 and older engines exempt, not that I'll be worried about HOS but just an added extra monthly cost.

I have a 2001 (2nd gen. Cummins) 2500 4x4 SRW with the CAD system on the front Axle and needed a few questions answered. 1st post BTW and just joined..... The PO has disconnected the switch for the 4x4 at the CAD (the connector that plugs into the CAD). The switch/sender is still connected to the CAD but there is no connector anywhere NEAR this. I've looked up and down and it just is not there, so my question is, where does the connector plug into that runs to the CAD (i.e. as in where on WHICH wiring harness is it Tee-d off of)? Can a replacement be ordered and then just plug into the wiring harness on one end and the CAD switch on the other? Any pics showing both end…

  20. I’ve been trying to figure this out for a couple days now. I’m having troubles with truck running when pcm is plugged in. If I unplug C1 It will start. If I unplug C3 it will start but say I have C1 plugged in and plug C3 in kills it immediately. Same if it’s other way around. Could this be due to security? Please help
