Gents I need some expert opinions! I just had a p0237 code pop up. My truck is running very well and I just averaged 19.7 MPG @70 MPG on the freeway (hand math). Now I have done some preliminary research and I see it’s the map sensor.. I cleared the code and am running the truck. Unfortunately I have an elk hunt that starts Friday and I leave Wednesday morning (not much time for repairs). What causes the code? Boost leak? Faulty connections? If it comes on again I will be in a different state and it’s up in the mountains do I need to be concerned? As I mentioned above my truck doesn’t seem to be missing a beat but I’ve read the map sen…

Been trying to solve my intermittent speedometer for awhile now. It is possessed acts up under all different conditions speedometer will read pretty close to exactly double! Sometimes will do it frequently between drives other times can go a thousand miles without acting up. Shut the truck off and restart it’s all good. Checked wiring I found a repair on vss wiring but appears to be good. Replaced vss and inspected tone ring on diff. Speed on my edge matches speedometer when it acts up. Scanned and got code 74, 67, and 65. Should also add that truck has a 4w abs module but front hubs without sensor. I “fixed” this by tying front sensor wires into rear. Was acting up befo…

  3. Hi I have this most wonderful transmission in my truck. I'm trying to learn more about it and this is the best place for that!!! For starters, the truck has just under 100k miles on it. 1) FLUID TYPE: What fluid is best to use (The tag is saying Texaco STF 1874 Chrysler P/N 04874464) 2) FLUID TYPE: How much Fluid does it hold? 3) FLUID : Is there an additive that is advisable? 4) TRANSMISSION COOLER: Is there some sort of manual transmission cooler add-on for the trans that would assist in extending the life of the unit? I understand there were few of these made and the company that made them is out of business. Therefor …

My Adrenaline box has the V2 2.7 beta software. My tune pages look much different than the standard V2 (more detailed it seems). Can I update to the newest software without a cable and computer? I'd love to run some of these tunes I see but the iPod the beta software is on won't connect to the internet anymore. I wrote a basic tune using Quadzillas website as a guide. It works better than the crazy tune that was in it which you can't look at settings. If you select the arrow to make changes it boots you out of IQuad. Thoughts?

Probably a stupid question did the alternator a/c test on my truck reads around .032 say there and watched it for a minute and it shoots up to .09-.1 for about 5 seconds than returns to .032. Does the same cycle like clock work. I’m assuming it is the alternator full fielding?

Ok so here I go, I have a 99 ram 2500 4x4 auto trans 24v 280k miles. I am having a gremlin and here are the symptoms and the story. It started with my transmission not shifting out of 1st no matter how few or many rpms you threw at it unless you let off the petal and kicked it down that way, so I replaced Gov pressure solenoid, transducer, and for good measure the o/d and lockup solenoids as well also tightened the bands to spec and put new fluid in. Did not fix the issue, then the next day driving to work my speedometer says I'm not working Monday and drops to 0, so i replace both the speed sensor in the transmission tail housing and the one in the rear axle. Fixes the s…

Man seems like there’s been a lotnno f small weird issues going on with my truck lately. I developed a new issue late last night and this evening. I picked up a new truck last night and the truck ran perfect on the 2 HR drive. Got the trailer loaded and went to start the truck and nothing happened. No chime, no lights, no nothing except for the park brake indicator light wa s lit but extremely dim. Basically if acted like the batteries were completely dead. My only thonly but was hook up jumper cables so I had the fella helping me jump me and it started no problem. I drove the 2 hrs home with no issues. Drove to work this morning with no issues or problems. Went to leave …

  8. So Ive been looking at a truck my little brother's friend owns, it's a 2000 with a "built" 47re, and according to him he recently blew the transmission, but the tranny isn't that old and he said, "It will not go forward, it will sometimes but only to 25mph and reverse works." To me this doesnt sound blown but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not versed in automatic transmissions so I'm in the dark here and anything helps. Thanks!

I installed gauges into my 2001 Auto. I had fuel pressure and pyro before. I added boost. Checked all the gauges for light up prior to fully mounting the pod. They all worked. Installed the pod and hooked up all the gauges. No lights for gauges and no illumination lights in dash. Parking lights also wont turn on with headlight switch. Turn signals, head lights, dome lights, blower motor, and radio all work. I went to start the truck, it fired then died. I have good fuel pressure to VP. I checked for codes and none. I checked fuses and all looked good. Batteries were a little low due to cold weather so they are on charger. I will crack lines at injectors next to see if get…

I swapped a 02 Cummins into my F250. Mods are, fummins twin turbo kit, 125 DDP injectors, new springs, and arp studs. Also new VP 44 SO pump. Tunning is by quadzilla, but no custom tunes yet. The motor came out of a manual transmission truck, so I sent the ECM off to be reprogrammed for an automatic because of a massive lope. When I got it back, the lope was cured and it idle ok. When I drive the truck, it will only get to 1850 RPM and no farther. Acts like it has a governor on it. I purchased an automatic apps sensor and did the relearn on it and no help. Any suggestions???

I have been reading your articles and have a question about the Electric Fuel Gauge article. I am taking my tap point from the top of the existing fuel canister with a needle valve. I have a mechanical gauge now, but I am going to replace it with the ISSPRO EV2. Is this far enough from the VP44 or should I go a little further away before putting the sender in? I also have a question about the W-T ground wire mod - simplified version. In the article next to the last picture there is a connection in the ground wire about 3 inches to the right of your hand. Is this the fusible link that you talk about at the end of your article? I did my ground mod using W-T…

Went to change the oil sensor, ordered the switch from genos after confirming I had the right part number. Went to install today and behold, my truck fights to be different yet again. So now the question is, does anyone know what year sensor this is? I believe the truck is late 02 before the change to 3rd gen trucks, but I haven't been to the parts store yet to look at a sensor they have on the shelf. Part number for the 98.5-02 trucks is 4326849 and a complete different plug. Also, sorry about all the oil need to change the cover gasket on that side.

I have noticed recently that sometimes upon cold start my truck will idle at 900rpms instead of the usual 825 rpms. Iv also noticed that when accelerating I can seemingly feel dead spots in the pedal at times. Could my apps be going out? I can rev the truck and it will still idle high but when put in gear and driven and stopped it’s back to 825. Thoughts? Also I had a P0336 come up and replaced the crankshaft sensor with a Napa part and code went away along with the symptoms so that’s out of question.

Bought my truck in September 2018. 2002 3500. Winter came and all I could get out of my dash vents on position 2 was 80°f. Position 3 was 75°f. Position 4 would blow cold air. Installed grill blanket, no change. Installed 190 NAPA thermostat, temp guage now runs slightly higher and more consistent but no change in vent heat temp. Installed heater treater, no change. Flushed heater core with hose, temp now at 110°f on fan setting 2 and 95°f on fan setting three. Guess I have a heater core replacement in my future. Watched Mopar mans vid and I'm going to wait till summer to do it because I have to work outside in my driveway....... Can't wait!!!!! …

I just installed a brand new PCM from flagship one that they programmed to the VIN of my 99 Dodge Cummins auto trans pickup. At the same time I installed a used 99 Cummins ECM that I got from a friend, but he couldn't remember if that pickup was a manual or auto trans pickup. There are no codes nor CEL coming up, but at idle when I put it into gear now, it sounds like the motor has a lopey cam in it. If I put it into park or neutral, it idles smooth, and it runs smooth down the road. Now my pickup will display the WTS as soon as the key is turned on, and I don't have to wait for the WTS light to come on each and every time to get the engine to fir…

WTS Lamp will not come on. Truck still starts. Manifold heaters do not come on. Has a hard time starting in the cold without block heater(start up) Runs good. I usually wait for instrument light to turn off before starting.... WTS LIGHT has not been working for 5 months. Any ideas appreciated... I let it sit for two weeks. Batteries went dead. Tried to start and the lift pump stayed on. Charge the batteries and that problem stopped.

I’m considering messing with my injector pop off pressures. Iv heard of people having good results with 320 bar with the 75HP sticks. Basically I want the optimal pop pressure for my truck that is not running any tuning just the larger injectors. Part of the reason I’m pulling them is to make sure I have them installed correctly and all washers, o rings, etc are properly installed. Anyways what’s the verdict on pop pressures?
