Have any of you done your own undercoating and what product did you use? Looks like it would be fairly easy unless you just didn't need it due to being continually bathed in oil. Mine could use it under the floor pan and bed.

I am in the market for a track bar as the title would imply. However im looking into this dodge offroad place. http://store.dodgeoffroad.com/ he's got a ton of options and customization for lift kits etc. I like his design. He's claiming a 100% success rate or i think he actually says he's got a 0% failure rate. My truck is lifted and i definitely use my truck but i try to take care of it. I hate cheaping out on certain things that I know are notorious for problems. Im just seeing if I cant gather a couple opinions.

  3. Replacing the evaporator core and heater core on my 98 24 valve truck. I have everything loose except the 2 bolts under the dash. There is a cable going to the blend door from the heat and cool knob that I cant figure out how it comes loose. I can pull the cable loose from the door but how do I get it loose from the box. I have a bad habit of breaking stuff. Also having a hard time finding the vacuum line that unplugs from the drivers side. I can't see good enough anymore to do a lot of things. Thanks for any help.

My passenger e brake started dragging so I got under there and at some point I bent the cable where it goes in the bracket. So I went to order a new one and no one can get them, so I go to Dodge and they tell me both brake cables are discontinued. I hate going to the wrecking yard for parts. Anyone else experience this?

I noticed this yesterday. I’m not one to typically take short cuts, but wanted to see if anyone has ever tried this stuff and had any luck. https://gobdp.com/blog/fix-differential-leak/ The reason I’m considering trying it is I don’t have the time or tools to do it myself, and this being the front drivers side seal means the entire differential has to come out. It’s about a $700 job. Normally I’d use this as an opportunity to replace anything else that’s gotta come out for the job, but literally everything else is new (brake pads, calipers, wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rods ect). Less than 20,000 miles ago. So my thought is for $20 I’d try…

my son has a 99 dakota, 4x4 5.2ltr, with 44re automatic. the truck has 175,00 on the motor and the tranny has about 70,000 miles. the tranny shifts in and out of O/D every 20 seconds or so, shifting back down into 3rd and then into O/D again. the tranny temp light comes on and goes off as it shifts. in the past years i have replaced the shift solenoid, and the governor pressure solenoid. when this problem appeared i replaced the O/D solenoid and the temp sensor. they are only serviced as an assembly. i also replaced the ets (engine temp sensor) as this was the only code stored in the pcm. it currently has no codes stored, historical, or pending codes. i have no idea where…

  8. Not sure If I'll need help with this topic just yet but decided to start this thread / discussion to help me get the mind-set. Maybe this thread can help others who need to sort out the trailer wiring. Ok so when I bought my truck in 2013, it didn't have a bed or body on the back. I basically bought a truck with just a cab. Previous owner was using it as welding rig. He got a new truck and swapped the welding body onto his new truck. Unfortunately he was not so nice and he cut ALL of the wires in the back for the tail light and towing. Left me with the rats nest bunch of cut wires. I used a test light to get the basics connected for the stop, turn and tail lights…

Does anyone know if the RV house battery isolator is integral to the truck tow electrical system on the 2001 3500 and if so where would it be located?

  10. Started by Marcus2000monster,

Ill start by saying i cant wait to have my 3:54s and smaller tires next year. I have barely touched the front end of my truck since i bought it but lately i have found a lot of worn parts. The latest deal is a clunk from the front when returning the wheel to center after a sharp turn. I also noticed while fixing my frame brace that my sway bar end links were brittle and sloppy. Also noticed that when inside the cab i can pick the steering wheel up and down a 1/2 inch. Im thinking that may be part of the clunk noise? I have a feeling the 2 bolts that hold the column up that i pulled for the heater core job are the culprits but we will find out later.

Parked my at the job today. Get back in it about 15 minutes later and the flasher is clicking just like the turn signal or hazard lights were on but they're not. Sitting in her now and it is still clicking with nothing activated. I guess power getting to the flasher some how but to the lights unless the turn signal or hazard button are engaged. Any one had this happen?

  13. Ok I installed a new blower motor and new resistor (rock auto), Installed Friday. Checked everything working good Previously my AC Blower would sometimes not go on, then go on a few miles or more down the road Sunday after a trip to the store , Start truck to head home and the blower motor doesnt go on again. Damn it ! I mess with on and off switch and speed switch nothing, pull into get fuel about 1 mile away and the blower goes on. Worked fine the rest of the way home. At home I pulled and reinstalled both the relay (under the hood) and the fuse(side of dash) everything good and blower is working fine now still …

Anyone know what they call the turn signal lightes that actually are white running lights til you turn signal on they then go to amber? And where i can buy them?

I found a part store manager that was really cool. He admitted that the new power steering pumps are not holding up good. Being all I was looking for is the reservoir seal he was nice enough to order a new pump and pull the seal off the pump and give it to me. Really cool guy. Now as for replacing that seal you can replace the seal without pulling the pump. I removed the 2 return lines and the pressure lines. Then there is two 18mm head bolts and then a 27mm fitting that your pressure hose screws into. Very carefully just bump the reservoir and it will slide off the pump. My seal was cooked hard. It broke instantly. I lightly greased the new seal and slipped i…

Home again today thanks to Commie Cold and feeling fantastic so thought I'd change out my front fuel tank strap that has been bent/ mangled since before I bought the truck. Just like the Kung Flu, it too is from China. The new straps are plain carbon steel so the one I installed got a good coat of paint before install. Factory straps appear to have been galvanized. Here are some photos I took to compare; the new strap is actually for the rear, hence the smaller size and lack of clipped corners at the bolt end. Corners must be clipped to clear driveshaft center support bracket. Not sure what to think of the spot welds versus rivets. Time will tell. …

I have a 2001 4x4 Quad Cab with 86k on it. I had a front end noise recently and took it in. They told me my ball joints were going so i had them replaced. I did notice play in them last year but with brand new tires and myself traveling constantly for work, i decided to get them done and be ready for camping season.I still have a noise coming from what seems like the front drivers side of the truck. Very noticable when I brake and turn left. It never makes the noise when turning right. Yesterday hauling home the camper, I noticed it just driving down the road and when i would brake and very noticable when braking and turning left.I am guessing a wheel bearing but no…

  20. Hey folks the lower power port in my truck works well, however, the cigarette lighter (upper). Will often take 10 seconds or so to power an accessory like a USB charger, and sometimes will go out for a minute. Any thoughts on theories on low/ intermittent power from the cigarette lighter?
