I went to test my 7 pin trailer connector the other day and i only have power and the electric brakes and the constant 12V. The 12V also goes on with the brakes, which i assume it should always have power. Got it loose with the help of my new air hammer , but I need to know what the torque specs are for the axle nut (castle nut) and the for the 4 unit bearing mounting bolts on the back side. I plan on using copper anti seize on the mating surfaces after cleaning. Does anyone also put a drop under each bolt collar? To get them loose I had to have a 1/2'' breaker bar and add a 3 foot piece of pipe to get them Thanks for the help.

All I seem to be having the common problem of my ABS and Brake light on my dash being on, so I am following the document below, and it seems that my 4WD light does not come on when I shift into 4WD (been like this for a while though), so I replaced the switch last night. The truck will still go into 4WD with front tires pulling, but the light still does not come on. I did test the switch and the 4WD light will come on when I have the wire harness connected and I use my fingers to hold the switch down, but not when the switch is mounted in the axle. With this being said is this a different issue and I still may have a bad ABS sensor? Any insight on further …

How would I know? It's hard to tell with 8800 gvw truck actually. When I go over the pot-holes / pavement breaks with all the road construction going on... it's hang on & hope the truck comes down in your own lane! Today, running empty on a road I do not often take... I noticed bumps that I got 2-3 jounces on...I don't go off road. Cost is a factor. Anybody have recommendations for good shocks at a reasonable price?Thanks guys,Russ

Hi all, I'm new here, just bought an apps sensor and saw this forum that looks very informative so I figured I would join! Anyways here are my issues: 1- P0122 code which I figure is the apps because I did the reset found on the cummins forum and it went away for a few days but now is back... Going to install new apps tonight. 2- Rough starts first thing in the morning. Seems like it cranks over for about 2-3 seconds before firing up, no issues starting any other time of day. 3- if I don't allow the truck to warm up and shift directly into drive it bogs down quite a bit, then RPMs bounce back up and I'm good. Hey guys, I lost my high beam function on the passenger side of my truck. I know it's not the bulb because I already replaced it with a new one. Two weeks ago on my way home from work I noticed my heat was on defrost regardless of knob position. I also noticed CC was out as well as 4wd. The next day everything was back to normal. Today the wife and I went to lunch and no vacumn again, after lunch it's working fine. I rebuilt the pump 5-6 years ago and replaced the lines from the pump to along the fire wall last summer due to crumbling connections. What could be causing a random loss of vacumn like this? I already ordered a posi-lok cable system for the axle as I don't want to be caught with my pants down in the snow.

Evening Folks, I probably should have posted this up a couple of weeks ago, but it just occured to me. Im fixin to pull the HVAC box out & replace the heater core & AC core (& replace the dash & fix the EGT gauge), & figured while I had it all out I should check the vacuum pods under there. I saw from Mikes video that there is one directly on the HVAC box, but I dont know if there are other ones up under the dash (I would suspect there are as there is a bunch of vacuum lines connected together in the middle of the dash). Curious as I don't fully understand vehcile licencing here in US and we are about to move to CA. Also been reading http://dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm#BM2536 Truck is registered in MO (where we bought it) and we extended the licence this year which expires in DEC. Now we are moving to CA for 6-9 months. So a couple of questions 1) Do I need to bother with anything now as truck is licenced till DEC in MO. 2) If I stayed in CA beyond DEC - can I just renew my plates as MO plates. 3) Can I get fined for having a truck that smokes ??? Well got up this morning to park the trailer and the E Brake is frozen and will not release... I got it to roll but brakes make a ungawdly sqeaking noise backing up. So I got the truck in the shop and I'm going to rip into the rear axle and see whats going on..

Hi all, getting closer to getting the Piggy to Smog and closer to ownership. So I am planning on Quadzilla. I see that some of the Motorized screens offered Android screens Single DIN mount. So my questions are what fits a 2001. Are Android apps installable from the google store using your phone as a hot spot? I guess that would require WIFI as well. Short version: Didnt drive the truck for a bit, jumped the truck, got it started. Drove it for a bit, then parked it. checked to see it would fire again after shutting it off, thought the wait to start didnt show up. next morning, slow crank. attempted to jump the truck, didnt fire off. swapped batteries now i have no CCD bus and no wait to start. i also attempted to jump the truck with the Quad hooked up the second time.. I replaced my power steering box 6 months ago with a rebuilt box from Napa, . Last week I took my truck to an alignment shop because I had excess play in the steering. They diagnosed the problem as tie rod ends and excess wear in the drag link. I have ordered all the defective parts. They also noted that the gearbox pressure is off left to right .Is this something that can be adjusted by the pitman shaft adjustment screw on top of the box, or should I just return the box to Napa while it is still under warranty? I'm just wondering if anyone else has issues with the blower fan being so loud on High that you can't hardly hear inside the cab. This is the second fan and it was good for a short time and now sounds like a jet engine. Is there a brand that works good and is quiet? Thanks

I've read through here a bit but nobody seems to have my issue. When I turn sharp not full lock trying tj say back out of tight parking lot spaces whenever I change wheel direction or change from drive to reverse then roll a little or give it gas I get a hefty clunk up front. How do you enable/add central locking to a 2nd gen that didnt come from factory ?

Someone ought to know on here...My torque wrench goes only up to 150ft. lbs. I need to attain 180ft. lbs. I've thought if I could do the math right, I could just add another so many inches to the wrench to attain the proper leverage to get that weight.Anyone know if I can do this with the torque wrench? Yea, I know where I can get the proper wrench that goes to 250ft. lbs. but its also $100 that I do not have at the moment.
