I'm replacing the wheel hubs/bearings on my 2001 2wd 2500. What are the torque specs for the big nut? Thanks!

I can't find the problem. Replaced all but one tie rod end and that one has zero play. I have a wee bit of play in my track bar. But less than when I replaced it and I never had a death wobble then. I hooked a pry bar in the left wheel and pulled on it. I was amazed at the flex in the tie rods. Could that be the problem? Or incorrect toe in after replacing the tie rod ends?

I just ran into this problem but I'm pretty sure I know what happen in my case. What had happened was I made a trip to town and put my truck back in the shop and closed the door. Wasn't but a short time later I get a call to do firewood hauling. I pulled the truck out and set the A/C for MAX A/C and proceeded on hitching up the trailer. I start noticing the compressor pulling really hard on the engine and cycling rapidly. Thought that was odd I got back in the truck the vents were blow warm air. Compressor still cycling. Then I head the compressor struggle and then started venting freon. I knew then what was going on I shut down the A/C and left it off till I was rolling.…

I am about to do the EGT Probe install on the truck. My question is I need to know what is a good gasket for the turbo and down pipe? I am going to remove the turbo to do the drilling and tapping on the manifold. I want a good gasket and is there anything I need to look out for or tips while I do this install. I got the probe from vulcanperformance and it came with a green box ( I am assuming a amplifier?). Thanks in advance

So in my "Dove in Head First" thread I mentioned that I got a Borgeson steering shaft upgrade while i had everything apart. I have read a few time in other places that you need to grind a flat spot on your gear box shaft and that the original flat spot is not used.? Why and why? Got the old one pulled off last night and was looking at how I was gonna fa-naggle this thing in there, but grinding a new spot on top of that - ge wizz...

  7. Follow if you can… I have a Ramsey worm gear winch rated at max 280 amp draw Winch originally came with #4 awg cable Charts say #4 cable good for 100 amps at 9.4 feet I am installing Anderson power pole SB175 quick connectors to be used with the winch and homemade #1 awg jumper cables. (Passenger battery with connector by the grill at the bumper) Chart says #1 cable good to 200 amps SB175 good for 175 continuous amps according to Anderson. Largest size cable compatible with SB175 is 1/0…but charts say 1/0 good for 300 amps at 8 ft…this is well beyond the 175 amp rating. So I’v…

  8. Like the title says, has anyone ever done or heard of this being done? I have to change out speed sensors which are hidden under the rotor which is behind the unit bearing............:banghead:. You get the idea. I sure wish mine were like the later models.

This is my passenger side brake hose. I guess my question is, a.) anybody had this happen? Did I hit something? On full lock it’s rubbing a metal line. B.) what would you recommend I replace with?

I swapped a 98.5 24v into my 01. Now no headlights, taillights, dashlights, or parking lights. I'm thinking it has something to do with the switches being different between the years, any help would be great. I'm self employed and this is my company truck and need it to go down the road.

Got my new heater core in good heat and much nicer but now I have a wind noise that I hear loudly when the fan is off. It increases and decreases with speed. Feels like maybe cool air is entering then as well. Blend door broken?

Would anyone happen to know the part number for the vent vacuum selector that is for the HVAC system? I cannot find one anywhere online. Mine has a leak in it and will not enable recirculation mode. Thank you.

Hey all, So, I replaced AC components yesterday on my 01 24v which got rid of the compressor squealing from an out of round bearing. Sounded great and was cold as ice. Drove home and now it’s a high pitched (bearing squeal) noise again… Manual warned about a bad fan clutch hurting compressor and I disregarded that (oops). Anyone ever have this happen in such a short amount of time? Or do you think it's maybe another pulley and it's just coincidence a different one went right as everything sounded fine with the new compressor before driving home?

I found that using an appliance timer works great with my engine block heater. I set the on and off time to my usage. I keeps the engine warm without it being on all the time. I think a regular light timer would be a little to light duty.

My truck didn't come with fog lights. Want to install in the bumper in the OEM location. I see that on eBay that there are lights with mounts. I've got the wiring figured out thanks to Michael's diagram for driving lights (separate thread). Can I just bolt these suckers on the existing bumper without the inserts?been readin around the site. Some are saying the factory fog lights are worthless. Ive got them on my 2006 mega cab and I like em. Are the 3rd gen lights better?

  18. It is very straightforward to change out the wiper motor and little gearbox. Comes all in one. You first need to to mark where the stop position is with tape on the windshield so you can line up the wiper in the correct stop/swing position when placing them back on the splinned spindle. The wiper swing arms/ linkage, motor all comes out in one assembly (4 bolts) so you can change out the trans and motor and lithium grease all the moving parts on the bench. Important note... If you run the wiper motor with the blades off the hubs to see if the lubrication has increased or improved the motor speed you MUST first run the motor to the full normal stop position Bef…
