Looks like this BD third gen track bar conversion bracket has cracked pretty good after just two years of me driving on the road. I contacted them and they say it doesn't look like their bracket & to send more pics, so I did. This was installed by Five R Trucks in Colorado Springs, CO after my track bar bit the dust in a pot hole the wife managed to run through. That's when I really learned about these good ol dodges.

Some of you will remember my thread on my engine over cooling problem that turned out to be the gauge reading improperly. It got worse some time after that and started affecting the way the truck ran. I am going to be tearing into it pretty soon and want to see if any you might have experienced anything like this or just have some suggestions. At the time I was lucky to see the low 170's on the gauge. As long as it stayed there every thing worked fine but some times it would drop into the high 160's and the Banks chip would start operating weakly. The low 160's and it got worse and the gauges(pyro and boost)would act up a little. Some times it would drop into the 150's an…

Replaced the fan clutch over the summer and have noticed a drop in fuel milage. Saw the video of Mike stopping his fan, got me to wondering, so I went and checked mine same as Mike. Chewed the end off a 2 x 4. Question is how do you loosen one up? It is not frozen up it is just really tight causing the fan to be under load all of the time...

While driving home this evening and getting off the highway my fan clutch came on. Stayed on the last 30 miles. Got home and opened the hood and it does not free spin at all. Everything looks fine, and the fan has no wobble like the bearings are shot, but it is definitely locked. No free spin what so ever. Just curious if any one has had this happen and did you drive it for a bit before fixing. it? I have two days left this week a have to get one way or another. My thought is it should be fine if all is still tight. At least for a couple days. What ya'll think?

You guys ever seen this? It was a Duralast part, I knew I shoulda gone to Napa but I didnt want to drive across town. Now I have a Napa 1 mi from the house. OEM is a reasonable $135 on Amazon. I backed my timing down 3 units per RPM band except max (that's down 2) from the Extreme Injector Tune in the custom tunes section. Truck was running real smooth, feeling real good. This happened on an on-ramp to the hwy, about 2200 +/-200 rpms, maybe 45mph-ish. Just enjoying that strong midrange torque it lays down. Nothing too crazy. Real shame it happened, though. I put a warranty claim into Mishi, we'll see what they say. Made it home 15 miles w/o spewing…

I have a fass 95 that was put on in October of 2013. After about a month my fuel pressure will start bouncing all over the place. I call fass to do some troubleshooting and they send me a new ball and spring for the return line to the tank. I am on my 3rd ball and spring in this short time. It is not my daily driver. I only average about 5000 mile a year with most of them being summer miles. The first couple of times that I have change the ball and spring I had to take the diesel bath. This time my return line was dry. Is the pump working properly? I don't understand what is going on. I plan on calling them tomorrow but want to see if anyone else has had this problem or …

First off I'd like to give a huge shout out to Holiday gas station for their awesome "winter blend" diesel fuel, which actually is more like a gell. While I was getting ready for work this morning, the truck was running in 3cy. mode and started to spudder, by the time I could get out to it, it was to late. So while I'm sitting here waiting for the sun to come up, I decided to poke around the FASS webisite and found a filter cross reference chart for both fuel filter and water separator, and I thought I'd share the info with you all in case you ever find yourself in a bind like I'm in this morning. http://www.fassride.com/shop/replacement-parts/replacement-filters.php#hd_…

Have a couple random questions about my truck: 1. On start up, the puff of smoke is getting thicker and bluer. It also has a slight oil smell to it. Idling for a bit also starts getting an oily hint to it as well. I'm assuming that this is either turbo or valve seals. I don't think its valve seals because those are only 4 years old from when I rebuilt the head.. Turbo is the factory hx35 with 213k on it so id think its getting time to rebuild. 2. While sled pulling, in my Quad's datalogs I have found that the canbus fuel is dropping off a bit then back up to 4095. I don't have back downs, and throttle stayed at 100%. The green vertical bars are can…

So I am ready to upgrade my lift pump but I am torn between electric and mechanical.... Electric pros are slightly lower cost and I can run pre and post filters on the pump The mechanical pump I like more but it seams you can only run the stock filter housing and I'm not to comfortable with that idea.... What are your thoughts are there different filter options out there that I am not seeing for the mechanical? I'm looking at the gdp fuel boss if that changes anything

It wasn't anything too heavy, built some walls for my flat bed and loaded up 3400lbs of scrap, rolled across the scales at just over 15k total. I also hauled a 1959 Plymouth Fury. The truck pulls so much harder with a load now, no hesitation in getting up to speed in traffic. It was a night and day difference compared to just a single turbo. I never crossed 1000* EGT even while pushing it hard on level 5 of my towing tune. The whistling, oh how I love the whistling.

Well guys I finally reached my goal of over 20 mpg! I went on a drive from southern Washington to Northern and back which netted me 20.33 mpg @ 65 mph. I also did a mix of city driving as well. This is with a corrected speedometer and I actually lose ~1 mile over a 550 mile course. I believe this increase has come mainly from the weather heating up and from possibly using S15 D-2 diesel as opposed to B20. I had the timing set on the quad @ 18* at 65mph. Rpms are around 1780 with 3.54 rear and 295/70R17 tires. I also swapped the steel rims out with 3rd gen alloys which reduced some of the rotating mass. Soon I will be switching to 245/70R17 tires and I hope to see another …

Well i finally got to tow a good amount of weight than i ever do to Vegas from LA. Towed a steel enclosed car trailer that weighed in at about 10500 with the car. Now being steel wasn't the big problem but being that its got 8 ft ceiling inside was. Almost twice as high as the truck. Anyway the way there we averaged about 60-65 mph and about 50-55 on the steep grades. Kept the egts below 1100 going up the steep grades. Finally when we got to vegas had to fill up so hand calculated the mpg and it was about 9-10. Now on the way back topped off and weighed everything and came in at 16700. We had a crap load of rear axle weight over 5000 lbs and over 3000 in front. To much to…

Hi all, Just wanted to share my first experience towing with my cummins Being in the military, and not owning a travel trailer or anything, I don't get the chance to work my truck very often. I don't know exactly how much weight it was, and there was no scale nearby, but I know the tractor is between 3500-4000 lbs, not sure on the trailer. You more experienced guys would probably know better based on the pic. Anyway the tractor is a 47hp, 3 cyl, gas, Ford 3400 from the 60's i think? My Dad is gradually working his way into a small scale farming operation and was able to borrow the tractor from a friend to see how it worked to run his 6' brush hog. Our who…

I'm thinking about looking into a fourty foot weekend warrior toy hauler. It weighs probably twelve thirteen k and then another two thousand with all the bikes and such( est. ). Truck is an 01 qclb, 4x4 5 speed with overload springs single rear wheels. Oh and tentative trailer is three axle. Do you guys think that will work? So, I've been playing around with my quadzillas daily driving tune and I'm trying to get rid of the excessive smoke and heat. I'm currently running a set of DDP 100hp injectors( I know they are smokey and can run hot) and they are next on the list of items to fix( going to swap the nozzles and reset POP to 310) I think these injectors are popped at 280 from DDP which should retard the timing... correct?. But until i have time and money to do that, i need to try and adjust the tune. I'm also running a 60/67/12 HX35, BHAF, 4in exhaust. EGTs are about 800 cruising at 70mph, which seems high and it is still pretty smokey when pulling away from a light. Below is the tune …
