New to this forum, seems like a knowledgeable group of guys (shout out to y'all) However I'm having issues with my 2001 5 speed. She has a quadzilla adrenaline tuner, scheid diesel 100hp injectors, and an edge boost elbow. After installing the injectors she has a slight white haze coming from both the exhaust and the engine compartment. Both are very light. The exhaust gets denser when accelerating, and sometimes turns black. It seems to smell normal (not sweet like coolant, or like burnt oil). What could cause these symptoms if of concern at all? It also is is jerky/studdery at around 1200 rpm, but smoothes out at higher rpm, or harder throttle input. …

How many holes are in the stock injectors? I thought the stock ones had 5 and I just got some BD 40hp injectors part #1040275 and they only have 4 holes in the nozzle I was under the impression that it would have more holes for better atomization... As I was looking online to see if I could find any specs on the BD injectors I stumbled upon some injectors on Diesel Power Products... http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/p-7530-dodge-12-valve-fuel-injectors-9070-hp.aspx more power then the ones I bought and 1/2 the price... Has any one used DPP injectors and if so what where the results?

Would new injectors quiet down my rig? When I run 2 cycle oil at the specified ration it's a little quieter. But still have a clicking sound almost like a lifter sound on a gas motor with low oil. Lol. Or like a cracked exhaust manifold sound. No rough idle though. So I don't believe that an injector is inoperative. Just wondering what to expect with new injectors. Almost 180k miles now. Will they give me better fuel economy? My primary objective besides reliability.

Hi Guys.. truck is a 1999 nv4500 4x4 3/4 ton. Virgin i just bought off original owner with 169k miles. Stock injectors. Only mods are gauges and a FASS pump. Added Quad ADR today with iquad for android. I HAVE NOT TAPPED THE PUMP YET and had planned to run on lvl 3 for now... Got correct truck profile selected and quad app is reading all engine parameters.. went for test drive..... Valet mode (lvl 1) works.. half power limp mode lol. Turned it up to lvl 3 which should be timing and max Can bus fueling and truck is weak. I am actually having a hard time telling if it is more powerful than level 0 (stock) ?? Definitely does not fe…

I have been working closely with Michael (www.mopar1973man.com) & Jacob (Jkidd AKA www.dieselautopower.com) to come up with a simple & user friendly switch setup for distribution. I will have final pictures up at the beginning of next week for the faceplate. There will be 2 mounting options: 1. Mounted in the cubby hole under the airbag switch with a professionally engraved mounting plate. It will involve removing the dash surround (CAREFULLY) & 3 screws to pull the cubby, then install the plate with the same 3 screws. You can always return it to stock for warmer times, or resale. THIS option will be the 1st release. 2. A 2" round unit to fit to a st…

I'm new to the Smarty, just got one. For initial install I disconnected my Edge EZ and reconnected the factory plug. The programming went smoothly, including the tire size adjustment (factory 265/75R16 to 255/85R16 -- 32.75"). Questions: In the future should I disconnect the EZ to change SW# and is it normal on initial ABS adjustment to show current tire size as 00.00" ? Also, to be clear --- Even SW# with Edge EZ and Odd or Even SW# Smarty alone? After ABS adjustment it shows current tire size as 32.75" and the 2 #s indicating currently vin locked to my truck. Thanks for any info, Joe

Well I finally got a chance to install my 150's from jkidd. My first time changing them out on on of these. Read over Mikes write up and went with out a hitch. I must agree though the lines on #6 are a SOB! Worst part was trying to get the nut threaded up again! After assembly bled a couple lines and all's good. the truck seemed to be a little quieter and idled smoother. Took for a little test drive with my PM3 turned off. It felt very similar to running with my box on PL5. Now I have to say I didn't ripp the thing but I did feel pretty good. Rolls a little coal if I nail it. Hopefully when I get the HE351 installed will be that much better.

I just got a pair of used 245/75 R16 tires from a friend. So I mounted them up on my old aluminum mags and mount the 245's on rear axle of the truck. They are a bit shorter in height. The gains are great! Engine load is reduced by 5% to 10% roughly. EGT's are about 50*F lower. Acceleration is way better and faster. Cruising RPM's are right about 1,960 RPM at 65 MPH. I've got to reset my cruise timing limit on the Quadzilla I need to drop from my current 25% to 20% it was holding cruise timing climbing about 2-3% grade. I'm going to document MPG usage as well in the coming days.

I carry a slide in camper for a long time. How can two New E rated Michelins on the rear cause this almost constant yaw motion..... oversteer condition? Never ever happened before. The tire dealer did show me one rim bent about 1/8th of an inch on the spin balance. Would that be it? Front end is tight as a rock, but its squirrely to drive. Tires are the most expensive Michelins you can buy same as on front. TIA

Gonna prolly go ahead and get the quadzilla for my rig. Does the kit come with all sensors needed for monitoring or are they purchased separately? Or do I even need them? Does it come with a display screen? Just Kinda confused on what you get and what you need. I think there is a few threads on how to tune once I get it. I'll prolly have to ask then what would be best with current setup.

So I took the plunge and bought a new turbo after much debate... Got a 62/68/14 BW S300 SX-E gated. Beautiful work and amazing customer service from the guys at DAP! I have a question regarding fitment of the stock oil drain to an S300. Can I bend and flatten the metal tube to clear the wastegate actuator/compressor housing? I know they make flexible returns but I'm honestly nervous of screwing with the 16 year old bung on the block, as all the aftermarket kits drain to the block, not the factory rubber section our hard lines go to. Also, some how I got a HX40 DP for what I'm assuming is an HE351 flange

Hey y’all, I’m looking into upgrading my charger after I get my head studs and valve springs done in the near future. With the fuel I have right now I don’t think I will need any larger injectors to get in the mid to upper 500’s. So my only question is what are y’all running as far as chargers go from 5-600hp on VP44 trucks? I’m making upwards of 450 right now with a 61.5 HX40 so I’m thinking a 64/71/14 or something along those lines would work good. But I also daily drive it and want somewhat drivability with a big single. Thanks.

Ok, tow pig has 352K on the stock turbo. No major power adders. I pulled the BHAF today to install the MECHMAN 240AMP Alternator, noticed discernible play in the turbo shaft. What turbo do I get with my mods. was previously quoted about 775 for a stock replacement turbo from the local injector shop

Just replaced vp44 because I install quadzilla adrenaline and 2 days later I started truck and no power. Truck wouldn't make more than 5 psi boost. Everyone said it was vp44. But now truck is still the same. I was making 25psi without tuner. I have newer map sensor and I reset apps. Please help...... I am well versed with a voltage meter.

Hi all, I'm the proud new owner of a 01 2500 ext cab 4x4 auto, I've been lurking around cummins forums for the past couple weeks and came across this one and seems a fair amount of y'all know what you're talking about? Not sure if this is were I should unload all my questions but here goes. First off I'm an absolute greenhorn when it comes to diesels in general so I don't even understand most abbreviations and lingo I've come across in most posts here, so please be gentle! I kinda thought I knew what I was getting into but maybe I'm over my head? I decided it was time for a power & torque upgrade to occasionally tow my 7k camper + toys and came across thi…
