Those are eight 50w solar panel on a solid frame. Facing south and about 45* up. By summer the sun is 90* above us and during the winter the sun arc is very low in the south about 4 hours of light. Then the other thing I did yesterday is going to save us 50 a month by loading up my BigTex trailer and truck bed with the last of Eileen's stuff from storage. Got home just in time last night before today's rain storm. I'll be unloading the trailer and the truck at some point today.

Vacuum leak will push oil out of the crankcase vent. Vacuum pump can be rebuilt. I sell the kits here.

Should I get a cold air intake for my 5.9 Cummins?
Daily driver optimal temp is 100 to 140*F... Below 80*F IAT there is about a 4* timing advancement. (roughly 40*F outside).

I have the Dreaded P1689 Code
Swapping relays might just fix a power issues which can produce a p1689 code. Might be a good time to do the W-T ground wire mod for the VP44.

Correct they are facing south. Manual setup facing south. Only eight 50w panels for a total of 400w of charging power. As the season goes toward winter it difficult to get much light be the sun is so deep in the south and little time that the sun is even up in the sky. I've got a 20 ton wood splitter as well towed by the ATV. This tree came down during the winter missed both houses and landed right next to Devin's tree. Devin is my step son that passed away at the age of 7. Carefully tired pulling the tree and the top broke out just before Devin's tree. Now I had to cut block out so I could possibly pull the fallen tree past Devin's tree. Needless to say it came out smooth as button, plowing dirt in my yard but I kept pulling. I only used the 1996 Dodge I didn't even fire up the diesel. Quickly I had a step son name Devin that was with me for 7 years. I with another relationship Valerie Aranada and Devin Aranada (RIP). Sad part is that Devin died from brain issues and serve ADHD as well. That little Blue Spruce tree has been the tree that everyone is buried under. I'll pull a bit of Mom there, with Dad and Devin. Now I can fix the water line the tree pull apart as it slide down the hill when it fell. That was my main project the weather is improving and we need irrigation water very soon. Then I can ride the 1/3 mile to get to my head gate and fire up the water for the year.

Moving to almost the great white north.
The only thing I got to ask are you above the flood stage? Sure would suck to buy house on the river and have it flood out.

Black Hawy Rapids - Camping spot
Like Eileen told me today she wants to go back to the spot again. It was nice and quiet there.

Boost sensor location?
Yup has myself working on other truck. Yeah for some of us running much higher boost like myself 47 to 49 PSI. Then consider the bigger guys with twins.

Map boost sensor failing edge
Not good... It produces max boost signal and screws the fuel map up.

BLM Lands and National Forest boundaries
I use both methods quite a bit. Google Maps is much easier, Garmin on the other hand is more of a pain being you must type the destination. When Google Maps you can control by voice commands.
-
Boost sensor location?
Be careful those hollow bolts break off easy. I do not suggest boost bolts because of how easy is to break off either the tubing and the bolt itsself.

Boost sensor location?
Bushing and neck it down.

Alternator protection
Green wire if it shorts it just charging at maximum rate. Field load prevents failure. Blue wire shorts to ground is instant PCM death.

Alternator protection
I'm still running the 5A fuse I started with one year ago. Fuse is installed on the blue wire NEAR the PCM. Not long ago a another member just had his 5A fuse blow from a failed alternator and after replacing the alternator and fuse its back to working.

BLM Lands and National Forest boundaries
I've got a Garmin 42LM GPS. It shows those boundaries. Just start the truck and drive. The Garmin is hard wired so it goes off with the key. Same here legal and hands free. Second method fire up Google Maps and let Google maps talk through the stereo. This legal hands free.

Map boost sensor failing edge
Edge tuner have been known for boost fooler issues. Might be good time to upgrade.

Stuck on mpg
I run 2,000 at 66 MPH, 2,500 RPM at 80 MPH. Still pulling good 21 MPG empty. 245/75 R16 tires which are 30.5 inch tires and produce final ratio of 3.69:1 to the ground with 3.55 gears. Still even on my camping trip I laid into the power a bit too much and the rear tires came to life with more blue smoke (tire spun loose). Then I'm heading for Lake Fork Idaho tomorrow and moving my best friend from Lake Fork to Donnelly Idaho. This combo has be a towing dream and quick for power, I can get to highway speeds really easy with out a huge amount of EGT's. Yeah I could stomp it to the floor and run the pyrometer up as high as I want but I don't need WOT to get a 8,000 pound RV rolling and 8,000 pound truck moving too.

Eileen and I took our first camping trip to Black Hawk Rapids on the Salmon River. Nice to have 2 days of peace and quiet without the phone.
