  1. I just made he trip to Boise and delivered my laptop down for Mom to use. So hopefully she doesn't get too hung up with the computer (minor issues). Just got back from 7 hours of driver down and back... Whew!
  2. All stored right here plenty to read from wiring diagrams to tech articles... https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation/
  3. Agreed. I would go back to Bosch OE overflow valve. The never fail I've got 12 years on mine and 220k miles still going fine. The fuel pressure of the AirDog is the important thing than overflow valve.
  4. Cummins sells the o-rings for the return line. I think Geno's garage does to.
  5. If you got a Airdog or Raptor you might have a leaking quick connect fitting. Might have to talk to Eric at Vulcan to get the fittings for Parker Push Loc fitting and convert over to stop the prime loss.
  6. Check your alternator AC noise voltage and see how much your making. 0.01 to 0.03 AC volts is normal above that issues start to grow. 90% of all ECM problems stem from bad alternators.
  7. More aggressive the tire the more rolling resistance. Typically also that have more weight so giving them more rotational mass. So its a fine line of balance between traction and losses (rotational mass and rolling resistance).
  8. As for the wiring you should be able to pull the dash bezel and the headlight switch to see where it going. Another way is to pull the knee bolster and look up at the wiring where its going. So the existing wiring is a ISSPro setup which is all daisy chained. Red and black is the power and ground. Yellow should be the lighting, The other wires are separate for each gauge which will be the senders.
  9. Better news... Mom called tonight asking for me to setup my laptop for her so she can get on the web site and say "Hi" to everyone. So on Monday I'm going to haul back down and deliver my laptop to her so she can surf the web and do more normal things. She is not much for watching TV. Gotta keep her entertained...
  10. Called and checked on Mom. She is doing another round of dialysis today. She appears to be gaining back her kidney function. She is up walking the hallway with a walker for PT. Still going forward in a positive direction.
  11. Ok... Progress made. I built two custom tunes now. An empty truck tune and towing tune. The difference between the two is pretty mild really. The towing tune works awesome. I've got 6* of timing and only 1200ms of wire tap on a 7 level tune. So running level 4 EGT's stay in check and pull all grades 6-7% without a problem I can gear down into 4th set the cruise for 55 MPH and the EGT's hover at 1,000 to barely 1,100*F. MPG is vastly improved. Pulling a 6% grade I had some try and challenge me on a merge... (Giggle) I squeezed the throttle a bit more to pull away. The rear of the truck arched up and the tires broke loose at 55 MPH (4th gear) on dry pavement heading up grade with the RV hitched up... As for my empty truck tune I kicked the timing up to 10* and 2000ms of wire tap. Extremely strong and just a very light haze of smoke for the most part. I want to play with this now since I'm home and unhitch from the RV. I'll grab my fuel log book and post my MPG's from my trips to Boise and Home. Post them later on tonight.
  12. Sure don't tow the trailer worth a darn...
  13. Sure puts new meaning to "Achieve Your Destination". I'm glad the old Cummins and the little half ton has been up to the task. This is the second time they saved a life. I'm glad I've designed my trucks around efficiency and longevity.
  14. I know it a while for an update. Mom is doing good. She is still walking the halls for PT. She is eating good. She is being transfered to Rehab Hospital today at 1pm. I've made arrangements to take Diesel the dog over by the door s9 Mom can see diesel today. Afterwards I've got to get shopping stock up for home. I'll be heading home Friday Morning. Taz (Kelly) is coming down to my place to help out cleaning up the house. Mom will be on her own after that. I'm going to come down on weekends to visit with her. I'll be staying in touch with her by phone through the week. All in all she is doing good. Thank you all for the support and prayers.
  15. When i get home I'll dig up the article. Pretty sure my number are right. You know how old age plays tricks on your mind.
  16. Tidbit... When I bought my injectors from Vulcan Performance I had random misfire issue at one point. Call Eric and I mailed the injectors back and tested and flow checked for free. The only difference I was still under warranty though. This why I kept my stock injectors so I have a fall back set.
  17. Regarding as expected. Wait till we reach minus temperatures it advances even more. Just let folks know I'm working on cable producer here in Boise, Idaho. Still got at least 50 cables left I'm getting started on getting the process started here in Boise. I've got to give a Thank You to @bry1216 for hooking me up with this Boise company.
  18. Mom is due to be transfers to rehab facility still here in Boise. The doctor wants to keep a close eye on her kidneys. I'll be heading home Friday again. Supplies are getting thin for me also since she is leaving St. Lukes I'll lose my spot for the RV. I'm not worried at least Mom is out of danger.
  19. Close enough. 165 and 225 is the actual numbers.
  20. Using an OBDLink LX and the OBDLink App. http://www.obdlink.com
  21. So far so good. Just that winter weather is coming and eventually force me home. Remember I've got wood fire heat at home. Just going one day at time for now. I'm back down here with Mom now.
  22. Because Quadzilla uses the timing values from the ECM and adds to it. The ECM gets its timings from ECT and IAT temperatures. Colder temperatures means more timing, higher cetane fuels means quicker reacting fuel, so stacking more timing could be too much in the winter. The MPG fooler foops the ECM to thinking summer temps so the Quadzilla adds timing to slightly less advancement. This reduces the excessive cold start timing in winter. Also reduces the heavy rattle knocking noises.
  23. The only reason I would suggest an independent test, that way you either got 2 shops reporting the same issue or now you got two different stories which should raise questions on who is telling the truth. Just my way of validating the injectors and prevent issues.
  24. Maybe you should come to Idaho. I've been to their shop many times and every time they walk me back to the test bench and pop test the injectors for free. They only check for spray, pissy injectors and what they pop at. Beyond that if I want them tuned now they cost the $9 an injector to be tuned. Typically they suggest just replacement because you can buy injectors for lower price fully assembled than buying nozzles and rebuilding and pop tuning again. Idaho Diesel Tech is a really good shop and rebuilt a Ford 7.3 injection pump for $300 bucks. As for time invested they can pop test all 6 injectors in under 10 minutes typically. Very fast. Done right in front of me.
