  1. Look closely at the seat and the screw part. Carefully loosen the screw shaft so it can spin. You might want to help it out with a little lube too. Very common for seat motors to burn up. Matter of fact I've got a old seat frame I save from the dump for repairing the 1996 Dodge power seats some day. I've also got forward and back slide but the tilt is working on one side. I guess I know what my future project is going to be...
  2. Oh my gawd... I've been down that path too. When EPA started pushing for water based paints we done that too. What a mess...
  3. PCM, ECM and VP44 is self grounded through the passenger battery cable adding extra grounds does nothing. No. It suppose to check disconnected. The reason for some of these test is to check for shorts to ground. So it should show infinite. Suggestion is to see if you have any friends or members here with a ECM you cam barrow for a quick test. Might drop a pin on the member map and see who is around you. I still will not suggest replacement of the ECM there is still not enough to convince me its it. Now if you swap ECM's and the problem goes away then I would highly suggest it. Just make sure to find a like model truck to swap with. I think Whitelightning is a early 24V...
  4. That why I'm willing to provide the know how. Just up to you to get the work done. Funny thing is this morning I get to do a o-ring kit on a Ford diesel and get him ready to head back to North Dakota. Can of UV dye is rather cheap and black light flashlight is cheap too. Here is where the money get spent I will admit the manifold gauges and vacuum pump can get you for about $250 to $300 depending on brand. Everything else is standard hand tools except the the collar to release the couplings. Those are also fairly cheap at a part house. If you got that book you have all the knowledge you need to get the job done...

  6. So you hot wired the Vp44 and got the same results. Ok. So that does point to mechanical issues.
  7. Right now we don't even have one smoking gun to a possible need of a ECM so let that slide for now. I will not even suggest a high dollar part before finding two tests that condemn that device.
  8. Now he's got a shiny turbo but a broken engine. We still don't know what went wrong.
  9. Ok. Have you replaced the crank sensor? If not I would start there first. If the code is still coming even with a new crank sensor then I would run this test in the above link. Even I'm a bit confused on step 8. How can measuring the ohms between the wire and ground determine if the ECM is bad if the ECM isn't even in the circuit. But this is what can out of the book.

  13. Or you could be like a local here that kept dumping can after can into the system. Every spring its 3 cans of freon in 5 years at about $11 a can totals out at $165 in freon. But it only took a simple $10 o-ring kit to fix and no longer leaking. So is it worth tracking down? Sure it is when a o-ring kits are cheap and you don't have to continue the cycle of throwing money out the window.

  17. Boost leaks? Injectors pop tested to spec or just in the "OK" range? Some how it just seems that fuel isn't atomized good or timing is off a bit yet.

  19. I'd rather use a good vacuum pump and leave it suck a vacuum on the system typically for at least 15 minutes. Then shut everything down and leave it sit for another period of 30 minutes or so and check and see if the vacuum held or not. If not then repair the leak. If the system already had some pressure I typically add shot of UV dye and enough freon to run the compressor. Like my last job on a Subaru...
  20. Cycling compressor is tell you that your freon is low. When recharged properly the compressor should run solid not cycling in and out. So this is a clue that you have slow leak some where. It's really easy to do a o-ring change and typically fix it the first time.
  21. Still in all the whole idea of having your windows down a inch or so in a rain storm is rather great now you can clean the humidity in the cab rather quickly.

  23. Just to show... Like there is several 6.7L threads here on the the forum that are push to the top of the first page. It's just a matter of getting more 3rd and 4th gen owners to talk here. Take notice to that other big name in the result and I've got the least amount of 6.7L info but rank near the top. Of course ther is no 6.7L articles at all so there is no article result. Typically the forum.mopar1973man.com and articles.mopar1973man.com wind up taking to results on the first page for most 24V stuff.
