Finally install airbags.
years ago in my jeeps we used a york 210 ac compressor for onboard air. i wonder if that could be adapted to these trucks? it had enough scfm to run power tools, air up tires in a minutes not hours. might be handy on my work truck, not something i'd do to my 08 though.

Finally install airbags.
Is it plumbed to a tank? or stand alone? i am looking into something like this but with a 2-4 gallon tank.

Good Batteries
i don' t have those, but i do have 2x 6V batteries, and they are indeed awesome over a normal deep cycle 12V. we can usually go a week or more on batteries alone in the woods. mine are about 10 years old now, and when it's time for new ones i'ma look into the ones you posted about. Thanks.

88 Chevy 2500 2WD, 5spd, TBI, 4.3 with miss
i had an 88 S15 with the 4.3 in it, great engine, ok, that said mine did this to me a few times, once was bad cap/rotor, and the other was the electronic module in the bottom of the distributor. i think they called it the ignition control module. one other time i had issues was bad wires right outs the box, and plugs not gaped correctly.

Gun safes
you can move a safe with golf balls or marbles. Just need to rock it enough to get some under it, also concrete stakes work well.

3 cyl high idle still Low EGTs....
best thing i ever did was drop into gear and put load on engine, set the E-brake and drop into reverse for me. but still. put load on the engine. it always heated up faster that way then 3 cylinder.

Motor restore
dumped into the oil? we used to use ATF back in the day. talk about cleaning the inside of the engine... but it was always like within 2-300 miles before and oil change. i'll be interesting to see how this works in the cummins.

In tank, Lift Pump Retrofit
i lifted the bed on my 02, took 2x6 and turned on edge between the bed and frame then wedged a 2x8 in there, was plenty of room then.

Thermostat
i went through 3 t-stats before i broke down and got a cummins one, has 2 stants and one gates i think it was. i really like the cummins one. now only have roughly 5 degree temp swing, then after a while it stays right at 188. for a 190 stat. i've not had good luck with those.

Gun safes
i have a few, the best built and my personal favorite is a Liberty, it's very nice, and has the longest fire rating. it's behind a fake wall. and i have another will my high dollar items in it that has it's own water line to it from the main so in case of fire it floods when inside temp reaches a set point, (that i can't remember right now). it's also behind a fake wall elsewhere. and i have a third in plane view with some 22's and a few small hand guns in it, more a decoy really. my first was a small one, then i had to buy another 5 years later, and another 10 years after that. so if you only want to buy one, get a bigun.

would love to take this rout, but wife wants' to see Eisenhower Tunnel. So maybe on the way home we can head through these areas. @Wild and Free you are awesome!! thank you so much for the info. will look into most of it. i'm not sure we will ski while away from home. I'm not really sure why she waited to go here now, i wanted to do this trip during the height of the fall color change. but well i've learned not to argue.

Making a choice on Tires for tow duty
i saw some 19.5 with tires w/1K miles on them in Dallas CL a while back.. might be worth looking to. i think it was !K asking price... i'll go look... dang he already sold them. https://www.igotacummins.com/threads/9789-19-5-Vison-wheels-and-245-70-19-5-tires-mounted

Making a choice on Tires for tow duty
i have no comment on the 19.5's yet, i want a set someday though, as for tires lasting i have the best mileage from the cooper ATP's right now i have over 58K on them and still have a good amount of life left, i'll get another 15-20K on them i'd guess. i tow my 5er with it all the time. right now on my 08 have Goodyear wranglers w/Kevlar, and they seem to be wearing like iron as well. over 35K on them and look great. you might get longer mileage from a slightly wider tire, spread the load a little can help.

trailer weight's.
thanks for the reply.. so i found http://www.rambodybuilder.com/2008/docs/dr/mlup2500.pdf and it states i'm at 20K as well. but i'm under on both my axle ratings. so i'm not sure how they get the 20K. with a trailer of only 12,450. both my trucks should be the same. same wheel base, axles, brakes, just different cab's.

Quadzilla Adrenaline Economy and MPG
The lift and tires is what's killing your MPG's. i'd bet that you went back to stock hight, and stock tires you'd be up to the 19-20 range. i don't think the box and transfer tank are hurting you very much.

trailer weight's.
so i weighed the trailer i tow for camping, it's was 90% loaded. and well under what i had thought it would be at, but still i'm not sure how one gets the GCVW rating? i see several number in the door sticker on my truck. what/how do i calculate to see what i can tow.... now this was minus 1/2 the food, and no firewood. so i'd guesstimate another 800 lb or so. and only one tank of propane not the 2 we usually have. so i still think i'm about 800-1000 lb under what would be a normal load going camping or hunting for a week.

Traction / Ladder Bar Talk
i don't know of any made for these trucks, but one could make other work very easily. ones like these could replace the factory block, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lakewood-21720-Heavy-Duty-Leaf-Spring-Traction-Bars-/200720316138 one like this wouldn't be very hard to fab up on your own, or even spend the cash and install. http://www.chassisunlimited.com/product/axle-components/leaf-springs/leaf-springs/traction-bar-kit.html

rear axle spacer blocks
how about rolling the axles over on the trailer? lets you get it off road easier. the pin box on the trailer isn't adjustable? mine has 3 settings.

Tires
that's because you are applying the weight over a wider area, so each contact has less psi down force on it than a narrow tire.
