"built" 47RE woes
What keeps O/D from locking are a bad brake light switch, bad trans temp sender or it's wiring or TPS. These instructions will tell you which wire is for the O/D: http://www.tstproducts.com/Torque%20Converter%20Lockup%20Switch.pdf

new tires and wheels
Be carefull when you tighten the over center adjustment. It will cause you to fight the steering wheel if you adjust it too tight. I recommend you only tighter it 1/4 turn at a time the test drive it to see what it feels like.

BHAF Question....
Simple fix. Take a 5" piece of 1X6 board and lay it on top of the studs that held the stock air box on. Use a hammer to tap on the board the make impressions of the three studs. Pull the board up and drill the indentations with a 3/16" bit and put it back over the studs. You may need to tap it down with your hammer, but it will stop the wearing of the filter on the studs plus the filter wearing into the A/C line it sits on too.

ISX: Wanna come to Virginia for a weekend?
Rogan, just a little FYI, the PCM on your truck looks at the TPS and the speed sensor on the side of the transmission to determine what gear to be in. If the TPS is producing lower than 'normal' voltage the PCM thinks you are just babying it.

The Good I've been up to..
I have been up about 70' and had to walk the machine to reach up higher. Another guy and I had to go straight up with an 80 footer and then climb on the rails to reach what we had to. It gets interesting.....

Travel Trailers and Taxes
There is your answer! You can deduct the interest as a second mortgage and also the taxes that are paid on not only your trailer license, but on all of your vehicles. Turbo Tax is your friend!!

Fuel tank level Gauge
Yep. Leave the two rear bolts loose without removing them then it will act as a hinge. Just be sure to block the box up while working under there! Oh, BTW, the bolt size for the box bolts is 15mm.

Good. I don't believe that you have a timing problem from what you said. Symptoms of retarded timing are hard starting when cold, excessive white smoke (eye burning choking type) when cold, a steady miss until warm, not being able to raise the RPMs above 1500-1800. Once it warms up it will run good. Those are the symptoms that my truck had when the timing slipped.

Fuel tank level Gauge
A lot of times you can repair the sender. The easiest way I have found is to lift the box and pull the fuel module. Once you get the sender out then you can look at it and see where the problem is. Most of the time you can 'adjust' things and it will work just fine. On mine I was able to flip the wiper over and it has worked for over 8 years!

Rogan, chances are the overflow valve is weak. That is what sets your fuel pressure. If there is not enough fuel pressure then it will literally run out of fuel at higher RPMs. You could go to Cummins and get another one or just for grins and giggles pull the spring out and stretch it a little (should be about 1/2" long).

Will RV275s Help My Towing Mileage?
I am keeping it realistic. I have not ported, polished, or anything else on my truck. Just injecting some propane into the intake I netted a 5 MPG gain across the board. I get 25.5 MPG at 65 mph running empty. Ask Stodg73 what he gets out of his.

KDP on a 24v?
I personally would not chance it. It only takes a couple of hours to tab the pin and put it back together with just hand tools.

GSK Install Video
You can also count the clicks on the retaining nut when you remove it and put it back on the same number of clicks. Also if your truck seems like a slug you can tighten the springs a couple of clicks to improve throttle response.

Intermittent high idle??
A 12 valve does not have an idle solenoid. Everything is mechanical so it sounds like your idle hanging is more of a governor issue than anything. Did the previous owner put a governor spring kit in it? If so the springs may be a bit tight or one side is not adjusted properly. Check out the two threads about the P7100 pump and spring kit install.

Will RV275s Help My Towing Mileage?
I have seen 14+ mpg IF and that is a BIG if I keep the speed to less than 60 mph. Now I see 16+ mpg towing my fiver as long as I have propane......

Transfer Case
I am not 100% positive, but when I saw the truck one cap from the differential side was missing so I am thinking that either the clip broke or rusted out and it threw the cap. It was good until she took it out of 4wd (judging by the lack of damage from the driveshaft not flopping around) and it fell out during the last three miles home. Thank you! I will pass the info on!

Guns.....
Exactly, Bill. People, more and more restrictive gun laws WILL NOT WORK period. Do you really think that the criminal will abide by them? All more laws will do is make it easier for the criminal. I can take a gun, ANY gun, load it, ____ the hammer and sit in front of it as long as I want and the gun WILL NOT kill me. As the saying goes "Guns don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people". Most people do not realize that if you see FOUR people, ONE of them (statistically) has what is called a mental disorder. Also ONE in THREE have seen a councilor for mental issues......... The actual care for the mental issues has improved over the years, BUT, the number of people qualified to treat mental health problems has declined over the years. Gun laws are not the answer.

What a slap in the face!
I would not go to Menards if it was the last place on earth. My garage is one of their 'package' deals they advertize. Turns out what they sell DOES NOT meet code and long story short they tried to blame me and it wound up costing me almost another $5000 to make it conform to code. They shorted me a bunch of material too. I told them they need to get a contract with Cirrus Design (small plane mfgr here local). They asked why and I told them "Your lumber is so twisted it would make great propellers". They failed to see the humor in that statement and I was completely serious. You want to try something? Find a telephone number for their corporate office........
