Angry & can't do it anymore, serious iQuad timing issues
So does the drain line make contact with the wastegaste rod? if you apply inlet pressure to the wastegate solenoid does the rod move? if so at what PSI does it start to move? when you remove inlet pressure does it close? if you remove the rod does the wastegate lever move back and forth open and closed?

if your waste gate is not adjusted right this would cause %100 of your issues. I don't know how the wastegate of your turbo works, but you should be able to figure out if it is being held open. that's my guess.

the highest egt I see in the 0 to 80 mph pull is like 1300*, that's not exactly hot. I do notice that boost is really not coming up until ~2800+ rpm. in low gears and ~2400 once up to 60 mph. is this turbo wastegated? either you have a very serious boost leak or your turbo is not doing what it should be. I'd be checking to ensure the waste gate is not blowing open right away. I think %2 per psi until 10 psi then %5 if I remember right. however even if he never increased fueling % from %70 6 .013's flow enough fuel to make that turbo light. I would like to see a stock tune log and a level 0 run to compare.

@Mopar1973Man nah I dont think that is the case here, 4.10's + 6 x .013's that turbo should spool without struggle and it should have a ton of power. even with my 351ve housing set to 26 cm^2 ( AKA wouldn't spool) I could not get egt's to get out of control with the 7 x .012's. something else is up in my opinion.

your injectors and that tune should go like a bat out of hell. the minor tune change really shouldn't make a difference here run level 0 and dfault tune and we will go from there.

with 6 x .013's it should be fine at %70. how does the default tune run? how does it run on lvl 0 for egt's ?

Somethings not right if you couldn't get up to speed with those minor changes to tuning. I don't know that I think this is a tune issue.

DIY vp 44 and ECM. It runs, very happy
Good work. very cool project. If you want stock ecm maps I think I still have some of them mapped out someplace. Might be a good place to start for building your maps.

ok just covering bases to ensure we aren't missing anything outside of tuning.

my truck liked timing at cruise of 20-21* so I would leave cruise timing at 1-2* and then put your load limit at ~%5-%10 above your typical cruise load. higher timing will help egt's by putting the hot gasses in the cylinder rather than in the exhaust manifold. lastly data log if you are having issues so we can see where EGT's are spiking related to TPS, load, fueling, rpm and timing. also I need to ask when did you put in the 6 x .013's and turbo? something else might be going on to cause Egt issues, heck you might even have a bad EGT probe,

i'd be adding more timing I be trying to hit 30* by 3k rpm with your setup. you have a lot of fuel that needs to be burnt. I'd do 15*,19*,25*,30*,32* If it will let you, I don't remember max anymore.

Shop Talk on Carbon Fiber
tape the cut location and use a good saw to do it so you don't get any ripping in the fibers. clean up your cut with some light grit sand paper, should be fine. depending on the quality of the carbon fiber you might run risks of splitting if you use to much force on the blade.

Goin' Campin' Even Though 6 Bucks A Gallon....
Sometimes life is too short to worry about stuff we have no control over. we burnt a lot of fuel and 2 stroke oil this winter on the sleds, had to the put the house renovations on hold to pay for it, but it was worth it to get out and enjoy the winter.

I need to vent before my head explodes
A government that controls the media controls the people, there are a lot of good Russians out there and a lot of good Russian Soldiers, but there are also a lot of Russians that believe Putin. The consequence of a failed coup attempt is death, so I understand the good Russians hesitation. another great example is North Korea, there is no way to gauge how many North Korean's do not actually support Kim, because you do not know who around agree's with your point of view, it is common for people to turn in their own family to the government if they are suspected of being untrue to Kim. The punishment for this is death / jail or work camp's without trial. How do you turn on the government when the vast majority of the population is scared to death, literally, that they might get taken away at the slightest indication of not agreeing with the government. we are extremely lucky to be born in the free world. Say what you want about things going on in the government, but we do not hold a candle in the room to places like this. Anyone who has not read 1984 needs to asap as it is shocking. George Orwell must have been a time traveler is the most reasonable explanation.

I really hope a Russian revolution comes out of this. What the Russian military is doing right now is able to be called war crimes. Ignore the news and report and watch the videos of people in the area and the drone footage of the area. Cell phones have made it easy for all of Ukraine to show the extent of the crimes. Without even searching for videos I have seen 3 videos of civilians being gunned down and the aftermath of maternity ward being bombed. I really hope this ends before Putin can aggress nato. If it gets to that point I am really worried about a man on a button ending.

Install Oil Pressure Gauge
humm my memory must be fading over time, that suggests then a difference in the reporting of the oil sensor data stream for early vs late trucks. whatever it was it was an issue that could not be solved on the 1939 interface bus that the quad uses to read sensor data. Update: the memories came back. the root code handles early vs late trucks differently for the oil pressure sensor. late trucks it is disabled to the unpredictable ecm data that is received across the 1939 bus. Some late model trucks reports a valid oil pressure psi while others do not. the issue was that the late model trucks that don't send reliable data for oil pressure send false negative and false positive data which could lead to catastrophic engine failure if the driver choose to rely on the quadzilla for PSI without knowing that the data may or may not be valid. @TFaoro truck read valid oil psi, while @Mopar1973Man truck did not. Both were late model trucks. I asked a few late model guys to run a special version of the base code to see if there was a way to predict but as far as I could tell it was random as to what truck reported a valid oil pressure psi across teh 1939 interface bus. The choice was made to disable the function for late model trucks to error on the side of caution rather than expecting all late model truck owners to figure it out themselves.

Install Oil Pressure Gauge
2nd gen trucks have either a oil pressure sensor OR a oil pressure switch. The sensor will display an actual PSI to the ecm, but the switch only tells the ecm if oil pressure falls below X psi. This difference is something to do with the late vs early trucks, but I dont remember the cutoff. I am not sure if anyone has tried to install a early model sensor into a late model switch truck. if your truck has a sensor rather than switch the quad will show actual oil pressure.

DAP Hot Rod VP44
HO pumps have a more aggressive ramp up of fueling via the pump ring, but the ho also has smaller diameter plungers causing total fuel per stroke to be less than a SO pump. Generally people run a SO pump because they want the larger plungers and their tuner makes up for the slight bump in timing a ho pump gives. either ho or so will be fine for under 500 hp. if you are running no tuner and don't plan on running a tuner then the HO might be the better choice. however without some sort of boost fooling on the ecm to allow boost higher than 18 psi your setup with the 7 x .010's wont really be that great.

ugh yesterday morning was -35* and this morning is -30*, the cold is supposed to let up today and the rest of the week, but today I am driving down to the cities to board and plane and fly to Guam for work, so I dont give a rip what happens here.

Injector Brand Choice
either route has it's perks. if you want to pony up for Infinite injectors then you wont be disappointed as they are the best 24v injector you can get, but for the vast number of guys DAP sells an injector that works for what they need. I can't speak to the difference in parts, but I don't believe either make it "screwing" anyone.

-40* yesterday morning, -20*f this morning, ugh. ready for spring. blew an exhaust gasket out of the snowmobile yesterday, but my give a damn as not risen enough to fix it yet, might tackle this afternoon if it stays above 0
