  1. I had my truck checked over by my mechanic before I took it for an alignment so i knew if there really was anything worn out if they tried telling me it was. I ended up putting new balljoints in the drivers side (adjustable top) and the passenger side had some up and down play but no in and out. I called the Dodge dealer before i took it to make sure the small up/down play wouldn't be a big deal. I was told by the service manager i could go out and take a new truck off the lot and would most likely see some up and down, and most times when they install new balljoints they see that result. As long as it didn't have in and out play they weren't comcerned
  2. On the same note...you ever notice when you get something painted or something you are worried about getting a door ding in a parking lot, you can park somewhere in that parking lot where there's absolutely no cars around...and when you come out there's some idiot with a piece of *&^$(%& that you can't even understand how it got there ,parked right up beside you and you have to half way open your door and squeeze in I notice someone was nice enough to give me a dent about the size of a quarter on my front fender..right in the middle of it plain to see. To high for a door dent so i'm guessing somebody walked by and tapped it. Too bad on the paint job 5-0 Cummins, hopefully they pay to fix it. Looks like a nice clear, deep coat of paint on it
  3. Some High Idle Fooler kits would go good in this thread wouldn't they Prowelder !
  4. Ever find a resolution to this LT Smoke ?
  5. Ok, so I see the boost elbows for sale on the internet, they actually look like something you could pick up at a hardware store, but i'm guessing that's not the case? Are they made differently for this specific purpose?
  6. So the boost fooling it does is basically doing the same thing as putting on that small elbow i see people put on the turbo to boost fool?
  7. Does the Edge Juice do boost fooling? I bought one tonight (2008 model) and wondering if it does it or not? I'm assuming it doesn't do turbo cooldown either because I can't read that it does on Edge's site . Off with the XZT , on with the Edge!
  8. ISX... I think I have to move closer to you, then you can have my truck to do repairs to and make tonnes of videos!
  9. Coming from someone of the downscale of mechanical knowledge and abilites, the more you can watch being down vrs reading the better. It's proven that you can get more from watching something being done than reading about it
  10. As I sit here reading over alot of the posts on this forum day after day I will admit even though alot of these subjects are explained out and I can read and read until I turn blue, I still find alot of them hard to grasp to where I feel I could do what your talking about . I feel my capabilities are limited to brakes, wheel bearings, and the other minor things repairs are done to, nothing to the extent you guys do. I said it before and i'm saying it again, I would love to see alot of you guys put up against alot of Cummins mechanics, and especially any mechanic from Dodge or Cummins from my area.....they would be made to look like fools! Let them explain how a MPG fooler would have to work or how idle flucuations are possibly coming from a bad diode.....it would cost me $1000 before they'd even come close to having an idea! I wish I could only do half of what you guys even mutter out as idle chit chat . Your a bunch of smart fellas on here
  11. I knew ISX would post a video...I think he waits for question with video camera in hand! Good job ISX:thankyou:
  12. Don't know if we have to worry up in in Canada or not, but I see they dont ship here anyway...that kinda sucks
  13. My wife refers to what I look at as " Truck porn"
  14. Anyone here use Simply Accounting 2008? I'm in a pickle :banghead:
  15. Pop over to Cummins Forum, there's a guy there selling a bunch of stuff from an 02 6spd and I see he has the complete engine harness for $100 if that'll help you . His name is bradly 59dzl
  16. It's funny because I was just thnking about this the other day. I replaced mine last year (one) and one the winter before that. I know that when you do replace them alot of parts stores will reccomend you do both, buti'm wondering if you take one back as a warranty claim, I wonder if they are quick to try and only replace one for you, or if they will in fact do both
  17. Ah, just go ahead and buy the fooler from Prowelder and try it. If it still doesn't work your still digging for the issue, but eventually you'll get it figured out and your going to end up geting the fooler anyway. I love mine
  18. So am I correct in assuming that if the front end is tight and in alignment and the tires are good ,that the steering box and shaft is the last place to look for bad wander? I looked at the Borgesen boxes before but just couldn't see shelling out that kind of money on a hope that is my problem. I added the DSS which helped a bit, but still not the most pleasant thing to drive on a long trip:shrug:
  19. That was almost like giving a kid a birthday present all wrapped up then taking it just as he was about to open it
  20. Was thinking this may be the way i go next time too. On my third lifteime warranty one from Moog, and I also kind of wonder if the third generation one may make the front end feel a bit tighter:shrug:
  21. I was talking with a friend tonight that has an 01 with the sport pkg and he told me his headlights started staying on today, even with the headlight switch off. Only way to shut them off is to unhook the batteries. Any ideas anyone? Daytime running light module perhaps?
  22. How ironic I see this post literally 10 minutes after I came in from setting two mouse traps in my Subaru. I noticed some kleenex shredded about a month ago, thought it was gone but i found another bag today with the side chewed out of it. Hopefully they like the taste of peanut butter or pineapple! I also had i'm guessing a mouse in my truck, had the glove box filled with a nest of kleenex. When I stored it a few weeks ago I put a bar of Irish Spring soap in it, I was told that would keep kritters out
  23. I'm watching these videos of 3 cylinder idle and I wanted to ask something about it. I don't have an EGT gauge so I'm not sure what temps I hit , but under 3 cyl or even 6 cyl idle, is it safe to assume the EGT's will not get to hot if I start it, let it go into one of the idles (whichever outside temp it will make it go to) and let it go until it reaches operating temperature and kicks off on it's own? I'm not talking about Prowelder's high idle fooler, i'm just talking the factory enabled option.
  24. I had a guy tell me he's taken the facctory weatherstrip off and put a small strip of aftermarket stuff on, then pushed the factory back on over top of it just bringing it out a bit from where it was. This leaves the factory stripping out against the door and makes it press a bit tighter. I haven't tried it yet, but probably will in the spring when it warms up to tinker with it.
