High idle ???
I think my alternator is getting weak. The other day I was leaving for work in the morning and the check gauges light flashed a few times coming out of the driveway, I looked at my volts and they were about 12. I didnt think that was right so I have been watching it ever since and when im driving they stay above 14 but when im slow down and idle they drop below 14. I never noticed it doing this before and the check gauge light hasnt come back on.

High idle ???
New problems, drove up the road and pulled somebody with my winch and the truck wouldnt go into high idle but it would idle about 1k and kinda go up and down. It acted the same with the forced high idle activated or off. Drove the truck home and it was idleing high and I noticed the tps was jumping around again. This thing makes me think crazy:cry:

Scan Tool
I dont think it does data capturing but iut does have alarm points you can set. It doesnt seem cheap at all, I was really suprised at the quality and I got in when it was $39.

- Overhead console problem?
Some of the lights in my 03 quite on me but a "light" tap and they are back working again. What is this test?- 2011
Well I almost made it till midnight, only 3 hours shy:lol:, 4 am comes early. It was 55 when I went to bed and in the low 40's when I got up.- Another Hi from Texas
Welcome Andrew, what part of Texas you in?- a short video of 3 cylinder idle..from the phone
Its a beautiful sound aint it. I just got to hear mine kick inot 3 cyl for the first time about an hour ago.- High idle ???
Got it figured out. The previous owner had a ground wire coming from pin #3 on the apps sensor and it was causing the tps to not read 0.00. I guess they were trying to solve the torque convertor lock & unlock problem. All is good and high idle is working.- High idle ???
Also want to add, Tim told me to unplug the apps sensor from the harness and said it should crank and idle but know throttle responce. I did that and it revved up to 2000 before I could kill it.- High idle ???
I just cranked it again and the coolent was about 120 but now the tps is showing 0.78 and 1.?? at idle. I am going to go find the voltmetor and give it a try. --- Update to the previous post... Got off the phone with Tim and we are both confused now. With the volmetor stuck into pin 3 with the key on it reads 0.64 and the ulta-gauge tps reads 0.39. When the voltmetor reads a little higher the ultra gauge reads 0.00. Something isnt right with it for sure but Tim is gonna check his truck out tomorrow and compare it to mine. Man, I wish some of you (Mike or Winslow) lived closer to me.:banghead:- High idle ???
You lost me Mike, please kindergarten it up for me. Do I use a voltmetor to check? How will I know its showing a ground signal?- High idle ???
I am plugging it into the wire not the sensor. The truck is in park without touching any pedals. I called Timbo and he told me to turn the little screw on the throttle back 1/2 turn. I did that and when the water temp gets down I will test it again. The resistor is doing its job because my IAT is 14 degrees.- High idle ???
I went to the dealer and had them activate high idle but it doesnt work. I used a 56k ohm resistor that Prowelder sent for testing purposes and the water temp was down around 100 degrees. I believe the resistor is doing its job at fooling the truck into thinking that its 32 degrees outside because the grid heater took along time to go out in 60 degree weather. MY ultra-gauge shows me that my tps reads 0.00 for the most part but every now and then it will jump up to 0.39 for a few seconds so im thinking this could be the problem. I have a Timbo apps thats only about a year old and I never really could get all the readings to line up like Tim told me to but he said it really didnt matter if it didnt have a delay in throttle responce. Question is, what do I adjust and how do I adjust it?- The two delo oil's...
CI-4 VPB has been gone in my area for 6-8 months. I used to use it but since everything went to CJ-4 I started using the Cat oil becasue its still CI-4. I only have about 1200 miles left before I change oil again and have been debating just going with the VPB. We need to see an updated set of test results with only CJ-4 oils to know which si the lesser evil. The amsoil I run in my 03 is also still CI-4, but its not cheap.- Delo Oil

SG has been out alot longer the UG but for 1/3 the price I took a chance with the UG and glad I did. It seems to be of quality but I have been having some problems with it about 3 times in the past week with it not reading mpg's. It just says err so I unplug-replug and its back to working right again. I think they both do pretty much the same things so its really up to you. I do know that the UG does not come with instructions but you can get on line and print them off and there is a forum that you can ask questions on.- Oil Analysis
I have one from Blackstone Labs out in the truck but havent used it yet. Its $20 and amsoil is $30, I think.- Scan Tool
Welcome to the site, you can get a cheap scanner at walmart or any auto parts store. Im sure one from snap-on or the like would be expensive. Serveral member have a scan-gauge and I have an ultra-gauge and they read codes and do alot of other features. http://ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm- Greetings From Denver, CO
Welcome to the site David.- What a surprise
Congrats, you will like the 17's.- idea for faster warm ups.....
- Fuel tank size(s)
I usually fill up at 1/4 tank and it holds 25 gallons or so. The most I have gotten in was 27 gallons and my best hand calculated mileage was 17.9. My 98 longbed measure 66 in long by 11 inches wide by 17 tall.- idea for faster warm ups.....
It could be done with a stick (ISX) or an auto. Just find a big tree to ease up against and put it in D or 1st if you have a stick. Now you stick shifters (ISX) will have to ease out on the clutch so the truck doesnt die. Now you might be stuck from the tires digging their own graves but the cab will be nice and toasty inside while you wait for a tow truck to come pull you out.- Why are aftermarket cab lights so difficult to find?
Cant beat that price with a stick. - Overhead console problem?
