  1. I dont know about the article but if the truck did not come with keyless entry you will have to add the system. Kits to add keyless entry used to be available and I would think still are in the after market. If the truck came with keyless entry fobs and programing should do it.
  2. This deserves its own special reply. CHICKEN CHIT!!!!
  3. I see the big difference now. When I bought mine I did not see an offer of the bezel with out the vents so I had to buy mine with the vents. They sell them for like 20 bucks apiece. So I have spares. I did notice the OE ones dont snap it in near as tight as the new ones that came with it. But If I had seen the one without vents I would have bought that one instead. There is nothing wrong with my vents either. Your going to love looking over that new stuff every time you get in. I still do, even the pedal pads. I should add that I have done special to the pad since I installed it. I used to armor all the OE one. But with the dust on the job it is nothing but a magnet so I just wipe them off with wet shop rag. Cleans it well and does not attract the dust like Armor all.
  4. My son wraps vehicles for a living and they use the wheels and use other methods already mentioned here. He is fortunate that most of the vehicle are fairly new and all that adhesive is not baked like our older trucks. I was at his shop a few weeks ago doing something else to my truck and I asked him what to remove the stuff from my old glue on vent visors. He gave something that I dont remember what was and plastic razor blade. It was working for me but slowly. He took it away from me and got a real single edge razor blade and took both sides of in 10 minutes and not one scratch in paint that was under the adhesive. Nothing like watching a professional at work. And on a side note I replaced my broken visors with Weather Tech slip in visors. No comparison to the others. A bit pricey but so far I can see no down side to them.
  5. I replaced my dash in November of 2012 which means my OE lasted 11 years. That also means my LMC has just over 9 years and not a crack in it yet. So far it is out performing the OE hands down. I did splurge on mine and by some washers they offered that go under the screws at the windshield. For what the dash 25 buck more seemed like cheap insurance. It still looks like it when I installed. If the color faded I cant tell it. At that time I paid about $300 for that and then bought the bezel just couple years ago and as I remember for about $200. Maybe buying them together saves some cash since I am into mine for more like $500. As far as satisfaction with the products go, Five stars here for both. I have purchased a few other things from LMC over the years and it all seems to be very good quality. As far as personal satisfaction goes, I got 20 more HP out of both. Add that to the 10hp each for a new brake and clutch pedal pad and I damn near dont need a tuner. Looking over that new dash was and is still exceptional and not having duct tape holding the bezel on and silicone holding together is priceless. A lot of cash to outlay but worth it to me. I know nothing of the Genos product to pass any kind of opinion on it.
  6. I do believe you right on the one that I have now. I put a new one and my boost did go up a couple psi so the other was clogged after 50k. I have both the large and the small one and they pretty much acted the same but the small does not las quite as long. The small one fits much better in my cradle. It does appear that this filter I have now has alot pleats maybe more than the other ones. Just dont know since Donaldson cant give me any info on the filter to be sure what it is. Sti think it is odd that I bought 4 of them when I should not have been able to.
  7. Just be sure the oe part fits the aftermarket part.
  8. The odd ball I have is screened both inside and out.
  9. I went back on Donaldson's site and it still did not recognize it so I chatted with them. According them this is for an OEM appication and not available after market, though I managed to buy 4 of them. He could not tell the application but gave some info. Reading this, this filter maybe a bit restrictive. He said it woud be close to the ECB filters listed begining with 08. The first few run from 175 cfm to 280 cfm. There is one odd ball further down the list rated at 970 cfm. 20519_jQjM9OQvUkG7g_Ipeu1eZA_Duralite+Air+Cleaners.pdf I have noticed a little drop in boost and that could be filter clogging up. Thought I had a small boost leak. Felt more like the engine defueling a bit at higher rpm. Got about 50k on this one and will throw a new on when I get home. So all in all I still pretty much dont know what I have. Maybe @AH64ID might know a lot more than me. But since Donaldson cant tell me anything it, who knows.
  10. This is what I have. I thought it was the same filter that I had purchased at NAPA. We were discussing the smaller ones in another thread a month or so back when I notice the part # on mine is different. I went on Donaldson's website and keyed this part# in they recognize it. It is different part# from what I used in the past. I waiting on a response from them to see what I really have.
  11. I use the smaller BHAF also and it resides in the area of the of the oe box. I took a piece of flat aluminum and made a cradle for it and attached it to the oe box studs.
  12. I have heard the oe air box tends to deform with age and can let dust in. I have not experienced that just read it. I took mine off many years back. My blades have similar color the best I can tell from your picture, though it is defintely out of focus.
  13. I bought a Banks stinger plus directly from them back in 2005 and a Banks exhaust brake from a vendor. They worked fine for about 7 years then things started failing. I went to them for help and they bothered to give me the time of day. That soured me on them. As far as flow on a 24 valve I would have go with @Mopar1973Manand@Me78569and their opinion as I have heard that from here and other places. Thats on the stock 24v motor.
  14. I but tires a Discount Tire. They fix flats for free. Went in about 2 years ago with a leaky tire that turned out to be cracked rim. Well company policy would not allow them to put the tire back on the cracked rim. So I drove off on 4 new ones. Went from a free flat fix to 450 bucks of new rims. Was not in game plan that day. But I will say they did not charge me for mounting my old tires to the new rims. All I paid for was the rims.
  15. I kind of agreed with the pointy part of the opinions. But I have faith it will all be OK. The finish product will tell the tale. Keep up the good work.
  16. Could be on the supply or the return side. A common area is the return tee behind the stock fuel filter canister. It has the VP return and engine return. A leak after the VP should be fairly obvious with the pressures involved. It could also been pre VP . Anything that lets air in will cause a hard start issue. I have something small on mine that will cause a hard start every once in while. Just have not had time lately to look for it. They can be a tough find at times. What say you @Mopar1973Man, my hero.
  17. Bad tires will definitely cause some issues with vibration and bad handling. I know nothing about your wheels but if you have not damaged any of them I would think they should fine and the tires are more the culprit. Probably not all the problem but major contributor. Me, I would replace tires and see what happens. But if you want new wheels too, buy some. It cant hurt anything.
  18. Your fuel pressure should bleed down to 0 a few seconds after shut down. The fuel system does not hold any pressure. You most likely have a small leak some where that is causing the system to loose its prime. While the fuel system looses its pressure it should still hold all the fuel that is in it. A small leak will cause the fuel to drain back to the tank and introduce air in the lines and cause the hard start issue.
  19. If the only thing wrong with the wheels is the missing weights there is probably nothing wrong the wheels. Did you on the inside of the back of the rim to see if they have the stick on stye of weights? All of mine are balanced that way with no weights on the edge of the rim.
  20. You had to know that was coming.
