  1. You shoud run a ground from the drivers negative to where you bolted the new ground splice to the gear case. You dont need the gray connector, just a aa piece of wire with ring trminals.
  2. I thought thepassanger battery grounded to the block and the drivers battery grounded to the frame. At least that is what my memory is telling me from replacing the batter cables a while back.
  3. You ought to move the the charge wire to the passanger battery and get it away from the other wiring.
  4. Open it up and look in it. I have seen some pretty nasty looking old fuel modules on here. Might need to be replaced anyway. My 96 eas a V10 but I never had to open it up.
  5. Sounds like that truck has been pushed pretty hard. It looks like combustion blow by. Just not sure how it would without seeing it below the o ring. But I am no expert on this. You can wire wheel it off. The steel those tubes are made of is extremely hard.
  6. Mine went 9 years ago. Found this site right after that.
  7. Mine was also wired for them. I just plugged them in. I have not installed the climate control with the mirror button so the heated does not work. One day I will.
  8. It is best to let the ECM control the lift pump.
  9. Is this the ASI you are speaking of? I keep this as a reminder of the debacle I went thru with them back in 09 or 10. The first one tripped 606 code and the truck would not run. They kept my core charge and it took 6 additional weeks for them to send me a replacement. It only lasted a year before it left me stranded on the side of the road. Cruise never worked on it either.
  10. Sounds like the ECM is shot. The reason you are not seeing oil pressure is that the 02's have only an oil pressure switch with one wire to the switch. The 02's only read when you have pressure, 6 lbs I believe, and then the ECM takes over the gauge using RPM and ECT info for gauge reading. The 01's have a oil pressure sensor that reads actual pressure. This is a 3 wire sensor and not just a switch. So the 01 ECM is not getting the proper info to display oil pressure.
  11. VIN=vehicle indentifacation number. They inique to every vehicle. It should on your registration, in the states anyway, not sure about Canada. It is also on metal plate where the windshield meets the dash on the drivers side and visible from the outside. It is also on another metal plateI on one of the fenders under the hood I believe. Pretty sure you are right on the HX being stock for your truck but I will let the more knowledgable speak on turbos.
  12. That is odd looking. Looks like like carbon buid up. Not sure how that could get there. If it is diesel and dirt it should clean relatively easy. The o rings are definitely shot. I would tuink you would see fuel leaking at connections mentioned above. I would also agree on the RV 275's on a stock truck. They will be better on power and MPG.
  13. And these aren't the sneaky oness.
  14. Oh yeah. But looking closer they do look like paint drips. Mine is defintely oil. Leaky rear main seal and maybe some blow by from the head. Parking the truck on Monday to pull the head and we will see about the vlow by. 465k on this engine.
  15. They're Rangers you never how many.
  16. I have had no issues with the penzoil. Not knocking the Amsoil, I am sure it ois good product also.
  17. Sure looked like well seasoned dripping oil to me.
  18. Knee knocker, ya'll must be short. That thing puts a knob on my shin bone and makes me . Man does that thing hurt when you bang into it. I feel her pain. I ony hit mine when I forget to take out after using it.
  19. Be careful, there might be gaggle of those pesky NC, 357 eating chikens headed ya'lls way. Be careful when you stray into the woods. They're sneaky free Ranger chickens.
  20. Tricking my with the painted runs and drips. I see how you are now.
  21. Your tranny is almostmas well oiled as mine, externally that is. But under carriage has you beat hands down. The good thing, no rust anywhere.
  22. Get a test gauage aee what it confirms the pressure drop.
  23. Something is definitely wacked out with it.
