  1. Caster will affect return rate. The box might need alittle adjustment also. Have spoken to Blue Top?
  2. Is the tank full or low? If low fill it up and see what happens.
  3. I like sealed better as long as they last. Replaced the front with zerksmbecause already them from long ago. But my front and rear drive shafts are both still runing on the sealed oe joints at 463k. I dont think new ones are the same now though. I dont like having to grease things.
  4. I noticed mine while looking around the engine one day. It was only seeping and the coolant was evaporating on the block. Just a chance catch on my part.
  5. Only time my freind, only time. The truck runs like a scalded dog with MAP fixed. Just wish the HG was done. Time off coming up, not sure how much though.
  6. My time has been limited. None contacted as of yet. I will find one soon. Is there any wetness in the area shown? I dont see it.
  7. Hey, at least I was close. You shuold be proud I am paying attention.
  8. Wel its in the right place but it looks awful dry and crusty to be an active leak. Is there any wet oil on it. Or are focusing on the whiteish tan stripe on the corner of the block. If it is leaking at either it should be wet with coolant or oil. Are you loosing either fluid?
  9. Injectors are set at a certain pressure to pop off. The VP supplies that pressure to overcome the spring holding the injector closed. Pretty sure 310 bar is an average pressure on a new injector. 1 bar = about 14.5 psi, about 4500 psi. You can get them set higher and when they wear they will get lower in pop pressure. This is where controling timing with a Quad is good to have.
  10. I guess I would have to hold a piece of it. The window tape is dense, near the same thickness and roll is pretty heavy. The rolls I have are 9" wide 75 feet long and weigh about 8 or 9 to the best of my recollection. The roll is ony $25. It is identical in looks as the small piece you see applied to the bottom of stainless steel kitchen sinks used to deaden the sound of water hitting it just thicker. The thing that might bug me about is once you stick on there I hope you dont want to take off. That would be one nasty job.
  11. All metal to metal contact surfaces. I always clean mine up with a scotch brite when I have them off. Still using all the oe tubes and lines except for #5 line which broke about a year ago.
  12. I guess the thing that gets me is the window tape we use looks just like that stuff and is much cheaper. I just dont know what the difference is between the two.
  13. My genuine thanks to everyone in the tread and the site for inspiring me to do the mods to my truck and helping with issues along the way. I have thru the years done a good many things to my vehicles but never what all I have done this one. It has been and continues to be a great learning experience. So to all for the help.
  14. Does the quad actually put any programming into the ECM or just intercept and send its own similar to the Comp. I guess there are several things that dont make sense to me. But I aint the brightest bulb in the pack on these kind of things.
  15. I wont, but emailed them address. Not sure i understand this. My fob unlocks both doors.
  16. I stil run the oe ones in mine. I just clean them up with a scotch brite on the mating surfaces, new o ring and stick them back in.
  17. A noise canceling chicken is all you really needed. Never hear the hear that pesky alarm again.
  18. Dave to Dave, what injectors are you running?
  19. Good to hear that. I would like to make the step on day. Just want to have time to work with it. The Comp serves me well for now because it is hands off. A tad smokey with the RV's but the 50's were crappy. I would love to have the power minus the smoke.
  20. Should not require spacers on the rear if front doesn't require them unless I am missing something. The original post mentions spacers on the rear only.
  21. I know why it does not act edge and see the benefit to the Quad. The advantage for me at the moment is I dont have to figure it out. It will take a lot effort for me to get hang of it. Time, and money for that matter, is my limiting factor at the moment. I do know when I make the swap i will have help here, but finding that time to play is very limited. I do admire what you and others are doing to help folks with it. Just save me a space in the line when make the change. Trying to get us a place in line right now.
  22. As most here have said the only dumb question is the one you dont ask. 2 things have held me off the quad for now. One is money, the head gasket comes first. 2 is time to get to the hang of what it does. I am electronically challenged a will need help when I get one.
  23. I take everything I said, thought you meant at shut down.
  24. Well i did forget you are having pump power problems also. So hot wiring might be necessary. My apolagies. The VP will pull fuel on its own but maybe not since yours is on its way out.
