37x12.5x16.5 military tires on 2nd gen. Plus 03-12 upgrade steering
I built a Minute Lube oil change place 30 plus years ago and all of those guys there had low rider pick ups. The pit you pulled over to get your oil changed had 2" angle iron around at the entry and only 1 1/2" at the exit. All of them had to back there vehicles in for an oil change because they could not clear the 2". But as mentioned, its your truck do what want to it.

Good tow turbo setup for near stock 24v
Beware that hx 35's come either a bolt on for the down and a v band clamp for the downpipe. Not sure which you have but they can be had both ways. IIRC though they will interchange from one to the other, HX that is. Not sure you can swap that part from an HY to and HX. On a different note, I live in Hickory NC and have had many instances of hauling my 5th wheel east and west on I 40. I am set much like @IBMobilewith 2 exceptions. I have a six speed and an Edge Comp. I only tow on levels 1, 2, and 3 which is pretty much the EZ in power. This set up has always worked well for me. I am also on a smaller set tires than you which is going to make a difference. How much I dont know but it will run hotter. Tranny might get warn too. Gauges would be recommended. E brakes are nice especially running thru the mountains. That will require some tranny mods since you have an auto. But I defer to the more knowledgeable on that subject

Billet Tappet Cover Selection and Installation
Welcome to forum. I am sure you will lots good things here. As far as the tappet cover and breather is concerned, I would put a gasket on the OE cover and do Mike's breather mod. That alone seems to work just fine. If you want to dress the engine up with the billet cover, no harm in that either. As far as milling it for the VP, I would not know. I dont know that the wiring harness to the ECM is long enough to move it to the firewall. Cant see that it would hurt anything. Cam sensor. Now thats a good one there. I have asked myself that question when I replaced my VP with 217k on the clock and again at around 485k when replaced that one. I did not replace at either mark. Still running the OE at 522k. Now that is not a personal guarantee yours will go that far just my experience. As far as the quality of new sensors, a crap shoot maybe. I have a $15 MAP sensor from China in mine for the past 6 months and it is still working fine. Another crap shoot there. The old fuel pump is not hurting anything just hanging there. Personal choice there. Again welcome, the rest of the inmates will be around soon. Dave

Weird Electric issues
I know mines a 2nd gen but when my multi function switch went wacky I could flip on the high beams and the wipers would move a couple inches or so.

I had the intank pump up until 9 years ago. Thats when I replaced it with an AD. I removed the pump and made a couple minor modifications to use it with the AD. It came with a kit for the mods. It is the same basket though.

i have had one for 9 or ten years. It is the same one that Dodge installed when my OE lift pump died. It only has the factory connections and you will have to modify some to fit your fuel system unless it is stock also.

Intercooler Bypass
As one who has neither the high idle or the Quad the cardboard will have to suffice. I have the winter fronts but the temps here differ to much. I was always having to remove or add one. I have just over half the radiator blocked. Not sure on IAT but I will look tomorrow, if I can remember to.

Fill it up and see if that eliminates the problem until tank is low again.

outside you say....

Intercooler Bypass
I run a piece of cardboard in mine for the winter time. It does not get terribly cold out my way but it helps. I block half the radiator and add another piece if it really gets cold where I might be. I have never had the wet weather destroy the card board.

EGT temps - running high?
Yep that is pretty low rpm at 60. Mine runs about 1800 at 60. I do have smaller tires though. But as others have mentioned you are not in a danger zone on EGT's.

Did your auto have the same tires on it?

some parts are nothing but a crap shoot. Though the MOOG parts I bought all that time back were pre Federal Mogul.

Big tires and now Moog parts. Now I am not knocking the Moog. I am going on 270k on all Moog parts on the front. All still holding up well except the track bars. Getting ready to buy my 3rd one.

Good News Everyone!
The US has fought a war drugs where pot is as bad as heroin. They cant seem to admit they were wrong on a lot of it also. But with the money that big pharma, the medical industry, and the insurance industry puts into political donations it will never change. All this money is primarily why I will not donate a dime to anything or anyone political. No one that can get elected these days without being beholding to God knows who. Republican or Democrat. The money is obscene.
